Amir Khan's interview from last night

http://youtu.be/ifh61YQrSwY I know a lot of you don't like Khan and although it's clear he "avoids" the Brook fight, I highly doubt it's fear but more the fact that it propels Brook to new heights by just having two fights his whole career. For example, many journalists have alluded to the fact that Danny Garcia was not a star till he beat Khan and now he is a big name. He puts his foot in it a lot of the time but he is a good dude. Listen to the interview and form your own thoughts, I thought it was a good interview and all his points are pretty valid. Also, great to see all the charity work he's doing. Summary -Mayweather comments the other week were not meant to be disrespectful -If they both keep winning, the fight will only get bigger -Face it, the fight will always be there -They can both have good lucrative careers without this fight even though the fans want it -Khan makes $1.5 million for fighting the likes of Algieri, he wants to fight Mayweather to have an opportunity against TBE, not for money as the Brook fight probably pays more. Khan has a net worth of $30 million (6 times as much as Broner) so he doesn't need any more money.

Lol Khan, he says some funny things in this interview. He was comparing resumes with Kell Brook and included Bradley in the list of guys he's beaten. Im pretty sure he did it twice :rofl: He said if the Kell Brook fight is allowed to simmer for a few years, it will generate close to what Mayweather Pacman did :rofl: Mayweather and Pacquiao have really ruined a generation of boxers. Now they all can use that fight as some kind of duck excuse.

bodies in flight is actually a reasonably likable dude. i remember recently that he showed up in a thread about a shooting to take a shot at america. marines, who are often kids not long removed from high school, were shot and killed. my cousin is a marine. he's 20 years old, and extremely immature. he'd probably cry for his mom if you rolled up on him with a gun. he's just a kid. most marines are just kids. you rolled up in a thread that concerned the death of kids to make jokes. i've got an agenda doe. I understand him saying that they should wait till the fight grows, but I couldnt tell if he was using mayweather vs pacauiao just as an example or if he honestly believes he can generate the same amount of money against brook because I believe that wont happen for awhile if not ever

Well you clearly do because you're not even entertaining the notion that Khan is ducking. Admitting so would make you doubt your idol. If Khan came out and said "in a few years - not now" after Brook beat porter then fine, but he keeps changing the reasons and back peddles. Not a good look for someone who isn't ducking. Khan has said many things, and he has definitely said brook is there down the road. Now if your point is that Khan contradicts himself and this is such a heinous obscene crime I'll leave you to have fun with it... But notice one thing.... You got no reply once you take the blinkers off!

Sorry to have to correct you but... The venue was less than half full, tickets were being given away free. Khan's 'Army' of US Fans consisted of his wife's extended family and a Bolton Mini cab firm on a weekend NY break. Khan has not sold out a venue in the UK (or USA) in years. Like I said, your argument is dead on arrival. Stay hating though.

TV did a million views didn't it? Against a guy who isn't that well known. Khan got over a million dollars for fighting a tune up essentially, in an almost sold out arena where there were more American Khan fans than Algieri fans. What's your point? It was one of Khan's smaller fights. In bigger fights, he has always been the headliner and done far better in almost all kinds of numbers you can think of than supposed stars like Broner or Thurman etc. Khan's not even American may I remind you. Khan is a fan on both sides of the Atlantic, the last time he fought on terrestrial TV in Britain, at like 3 in the morning, he did 6 million viewers. I really will no longer argue about Khan's legitimacy as a draw. We can talk about quality of opposition, Kell's belt, who Mayweather wants to fight more but this argument is idiotic. posting a gif is the bscene equivalent of a white flag. carl froch retired within a month of andre ward's return. he wanted nothing to do with that rematch. he's really not an idiot, the way many of his fans clearly are. ward's the better fighter, and there was no need for carl froch to get embarrassed again. much of froch's competition from the past few years would be shat upon by british bsceners if andre ward fought them. similarly, rodriguez, chad dawson at 168, who aren't great wins, would be praised. can you imagine the contrast in rhetoric concerning george groves near knockout of carl froch if it happened to andre ward? this is why i compare british boxing fans to children, and feel the need to impart some measure of wisdom on them during my travels on the bscene. you haven't been there before. andre ward is not greater than muhammad ali. you're like inexperienced children. you think a ford truck is the fastest vehicle on the road because nobody would ever trust you with a ferrari.
