Ward talked about moving up to HW, so I think he would do fine at cruiserweight, only question is if he still has the desire to fight, if he does, I think he wins, too smart of a boxer.
I like Garcia, but I think he bit off a more than the can chew with Spence, but if he does retire after 3 more fights then good for him, made his money and left.
Im an amateur boxer from dallas and ive sparred spence a couple time. He competed at 152 in amateur and started his career at 154 before moving down. He has experience there and can take the punches but itll be interesting to see how he does against bigger punchers because ive seen him hurt a few times
I knew that he fought at that weight in the amateur's, but it's hard to gauge a fighter based on amateur experience, guys like Charlo, Hurd and Munguia are heavy hitters. I think he would do well, but I'd like to see him go against a guy like Lara and see how he does.
How can anyone think that Mikey is stupid for trying to fight Spence, what happened to the best fighting the best, with no risk, there's no reward, sure it's a difficult fight and Mikey will most likely lose, but he's an undefeated champion and wants to challenge himself and I applaud that.
You have to give the guy some credit, I mean Mikey is the one calling Spence out, if Spence doesn't take the fight, so many people would say he's ducking Mikey, so he at least deserves some credit, not much, but some. I would say 5 out of 10 or so.
I'll watch boxing no matter what, even when I get upset because certain fights aren't made, or they put too much BS on PPV, when fights are on, I'm watching them.
To me, beating Trindad and DLH were huge, sure DLH got a gift against Strum, but in the manner in which he won, was way more impressive than anything on GGG resume.
I honestly didn't think Wilder would be able to beat Ortiz, a great boxer with power, so him winning that, proved to me that the kid can hang with top comp.
He appears to be the real deal, at least from what I've seen, but fighting Valez is going to a huge test for him, after that we'll see how he fares. He is only 19 as well.
This is the problem, everyone saying that Wilder is ducking, but truth be told, nobody knows if this is a good deal or $h!tty deal, if it's a 100 Mil fight, then 12.5 is a slap in the face, if it's a 40 Mil fight, then it's acceptable.
but like i said if its 12.5 out of what hearn said more likely a 40 mil rev then imo thats a good deal cuz 40 isnt alot but its whats projected could be more we dont know for sure
that was on yesterdays threads.....
The issue is boxing is a business now and promoters and fighters throw that out there as a way to make people believe the other guy is ducking and people eat that $H!T up.
I agree, I think this is terrible, regardless of the excuses with the meat or what not, to get two tests that came back positive is bad, this has to put an asterisk on his other fights.
Prime Margarito that made Cotto quit would do the same to Trinidad imo, it would just be a constant onslaught and he'd wear Trinidad down.
Is that with or without the hand wraps?
At 160, no, that's just too much weight advantage on GGG's part, Floyd cannot even make 154, he usually weighs in at 151 or lower, just too much of a weight advantage in my opinion.
History has shown us all that it is foolish to bet against Mayweather when facing any opponent.
True that, I know he's made me pissed betting against him LOL
I think the only fight that makes sense is the winner of GGG/Canelo, fighting the loser probably won't get as much of a buzz from fight fans as the winner would.
I think that Roach would have had better game plans for Cotto on his fights and prepared better, Roach has an ability to help fighters prepare for exactly what the opponent does well and had he had Cotto's career in his hands earlier, I think that would have helped Cotto tremendously.
I really think Floyd is done this time around, but if not, this is probably the only fight that they can make a lot of money on, now that Floyd's a little older and he went for the KO versus McGregor, they would use that to heighten the public's interest.
I think either way, there will be people saying that either guy won or lost, just like the Jacobs fight, I thought Canelo won that pretty easy with a 7-5 or 8-4 scorecard, but people are still saying that Jacobs got robbed, including Jacobs himself saying he thought he did enough to win. The sport is getting to be that if you don't KO him, you were handed a gift if it was close.
I agree, I mean when the crowd reacts, it has to affect the judges thoughts on the rounds, I do not think Canelo needed that against Jacobs, but I do think it helped him against GGG on their first fight.
Canelo clearly won the Jacobs fight. In no stretch of the imagination was that a gift. This website is filled with a bunch of clowns with agendas. It doesn't represent most boxing fans.
Jacobs had two shots and he just didn't do enough. I thought both fights were close, though Golovkin fight was closer but in the end the right guys won.
Completely agree with you, I think Canelo deserved the nod, but I just don't think fans will ever stop with the "robbery" claim.
I think the word "duck" gets thrown around way too much, either way one of them is going to be viewed as a duck or a nobody, if Ortiz does accept the fight and loses, some will say well he didn't have a full camp and he's over the hill and he's Wilder's left overs, if he wins then AJ fans will say he was training for Miller and couldn't adjust with only 5 weeks to Ortiz. If Ortiz doesn't accept the fight, then it's because Ortiz is ducking, either way there is an out for any fans. This is also depending on whether they actually send Ortiz a contract and not just talk about it.
Damn, I didn’t know that. I have a Samsung TV myself. Does it work on Sony Blu-Ray Players do you know? I don’t have DAZN or ESPN+ yet myself but I plan on getting DAZN in May starting with the Canelo/Jacobs fight. I only have Showtime of the 3.
Not sure about DAZN, but ESPN+ will not work on Samsung, if you have a Sony BluRay Player, it should work on that fine.
How? Getting lied to by a Fox Sports rep lol. I asked if I could purchase the PPV on DirecTV or just on this website, and he said on the website only. I literally asked him multiple times and he kept saying the same answer so I bought it from the website to find out later in a thread I created that was not true and DirecTV IS carrying the fight. So I asked for a refund and finally got it, but took like four e-mails to the supervisor for it to finally happen.
They told me the same thing, I contacted Dish and they said, "Nope, you can order the fight on Dish" so I did that instead, I want to record it on my DVR so I can watch it sober the next day lol.
