Is this fair or lowball?
UPDATE: Hearn responds

Bump
we've come such a long way
Not so much the 12.5 million offer but wilder is surely regretting turning other offers down; in particular the 100/120 mil 2-3 fight dazn offer
Still hopefully this fight happens maybe next year in 2022
it would be a massive promotional failure if it did. eddie hearn is literally downplaying his own fight to avoid it. i don't understand how on earth brits don't eralize what is going on.
this fight is already bigger than golovkin - alvarez and it's not even signed! people are calling in about the fight on the radio and it's not even signed! put a deontay highlight reel on sports center, bring him on a media tour, and this fight will f#cking sell! canelo and golovkin are not american and speak no english FFS! problem is that they won't take it to american PPV.
just for context, alvarez and canelo did over a million PPV buys at $70 a pop! that's not considering gate, sponsorship, and a site fee from a casino that will literally pay you to have the fight htere because of teh millions and millions in gambling revenue and hospitality.
Because almost every one of them are delusional homers who jump on every band wagon. They disappear every time their fighters take an L. Simply look how they trash DeGale now. Point made. It's a joke.
This is it. If he really thinks he'll win take the offer. Worse case scenario you lose and still pocket 12.5M.
Or you win and then you are golden.
exactly, take the money just to get the fight, kick his ass, then be in the position to say whatever the f you want
dude your last ppost was literally justifying a lowball, how yare you not playing accountant?
it;'s just a fact that the biggest fights in boxing have a purse split. that goes back a hell of a lot further than eddie hearn and al haymon, believe me!
I'm not playing accountant. That information is what's provided and I'm putting in my thoughts on it. I know it goes back a lot further and that's the problem, time to fix it and let the best fight the best. What other sports allows the best to not face the best
on the reals, he should just take it. it's 6 times more than his last fight. take the 12.5, go to the UK, knock out AJ, get more money and be able to make all the demands

can people stop being accountants and instead push to see the best fight the best?

Is this super duper mega fight really only making $40 million?

The poll is telling me how smart UK and American fight fans are. Flat fee? Foh. You didn’t want GG and Pac to take one so why should Wilder? Wilder is saying that Joshua can have the fight at home and he’s the A side and we can’t get the fight made already? But Wilder is the one who doesn’t want the fight. This poll shows us who the lying hypocrites are.
This was from later on in the same chat FWIW:
I agree with this. Parker got a cut between 30% and 35%. Wilder should get something between 35% and 40% since he brings more value to this fight than parker did, and the fight itself is a bigger fight.
Fight Freak: Should Wilder take the 12.5 million to fight Joshua?
Dan Rafael, King Fight Freak (12:19 PM)
1000000000000000000000000000% NO. Horrible deal. They gave Parker 33% and Wilder is worth more than Parker. No chance it happens as a flat fee. Same as when Floyd offered Pac $40 million. Huge money but a pittance. As a percentage deal Pac made over $100M. It's not a real offer. It's the kind of offer that says we don't want the fight.
End of story gentlemen. Let's put delusion aside.

Chris (New Haven, CT)
Dan, love the chat, what's your take on an acceptable % for Wilder at this point? Matchroom offered him a (rumored) flat fee of $12.5 million, which is absurd no matter how you spin it, but it's doubtful they would ever give Wilder 40%, even 35%. Seems like Hearn is not negotiating in good faith, this fight should be easy to make, they are on the same network, and on the same schedule.
Dan Rafael, King Fight Freak (2:01 PM)
He's worth more than Parker, who got 33 percent. Wilder's team has said it wants 40 percent. To me, the right number is something between 34 and 39 percent.

I could delete everything and act like it didn't happen but that's a b@tch move for cowards. I get why you feel like that's okay..........You asked for the red K chief.
Bye :****you: :loser: :usa2:
I didn't suggest deleting anything you fool. That didn't even come across my mind, only a weak person like yourself would think of it.
I suggested you to edit your post like a man. However you won't because you're not only a weak person, but a coward who is running away.
You're also a dumb mofo.
Buddy hook me up with the link where Hearn said the Joshua Wilder fight is an 80-100 million dollar fight.
I just told you it was on yesterdays threads look for it yourself
This is the problem, everyone saying that Wilder is ducking, but truth be told, nobody knows if this is a good deal or $h!tty deal, if it's a 100 Mil fight, then 12.5 is a slap in the face, if it's a 40 Mil fight, then it's acceptable.
yup i agree to this right here
Why would he accept it when he knows Hearn will make a better offer?
And as we often say in Real Estate whats the harm in asking? I mean behind closed doors a negotiator from each side can sit in and try to move the goal posts... Worse case scenario the A side gives a slight incentive to close the deal... Wilder feels like he got something and the deal basically gets made. Best case scenario Wilder gets a much better deal.
Is there a rematch clause in this deal? thats important. And if it were me I would want some percentage of the take... That would be my two points. But I don't claim to be a sports negotiator lol.
