Am I the only one that feels this way?
Nah I’m with you. Boxing is a joke now thanks to Floyd Mayweather.
I still have a lot of love for the sport of boxing. I still pay close attention. I hate the fans, though. Not all of them, of course -- there are some decent, non-agenda driven fight fans out there believe it or not. Maybe like 2 in every 15. The rest are f**king worthless. Boxing fans really are the worst of the worst, lowest level fans in all of f**king sports. This place is a shining beacon of an example.
Unfortunately the fan base is littered with f**k boys who do nothing but disrespect the fighters, sh*t on their accomplishments, and call them "cowards" (when 99.9% of these lowlife subhumans would piss and sh*t themselves simultaneously if any of these fighters stepped to them in real life) just because they have a teenage crush on certain boxers.
Much respect to you real fans out there but you know it and I know it that by in large the entire fan base of this sport is a sewage cesspool.
Agreed on the bolded. Someone once asked me why I didn't post as much in NSB as the general lounge. Well, it's because idiot fanboys with teenage crushes s-hits on fighters and their accomplishments. They even have the nerve to call these guys cowards. OUt of like 20 started threads, there might be 2 decent ones and even then some idiot fanboys will screw it up.
I'll watch boxing no matter what, even when I get upset because certain fights aren't made, or they put too much BS on PPV, when fights are on, I'm watching them.

Not as much as I used to. For some reason, Major league Baseball is my favorite sport league to watch now, when I was a kid I thought it was such a boring sport and it was basketball, football, and boxing.
Things change when you get older. I still enjoy boxing though. Although I have to say I don't really like most of the fans.

Gayweather and Gaymon slowed things down tremendously. Since the inactive PBC boys came in and Mayweather has spread the ducking and being a btch is cool, we don't often get as many shows like we used to before.
Golovkin has been carrying the sport for a good few years. Want to put chocolatito in that category, but he probably wasn't popular enough.
Joshua has got the attention, we'll see what he can do with it.
there are htings in boxing that keep it from alwasy being the most compelling entertainment there is, but there will never be anything like a close, hard fought boxing match between the two best in the world. makes every other sport in the world feel like a kid's game.
i still get butterflies before big fights and when guys get rocked or the tide changes in a meaningful fight. i always will.
I don't think anyone fights each other. It's stupid.
I still watch it but not as much. I don't like how I have to pay lots of money to watch boxing (network subscriptions, ppv, etc.). Plus ever since the ggg/Canelo fight ended in a draw it left bad taste.
After I saw that, I said "ok I'm done"
Horrible look.

I feel you man, can you imagine if the NBA had the warriors playing the spurs all the dam time. or if the warriors said they were going to go on vacation and come back and play the suns?
boxing is the only sport that the best don't have to face the best, it's trash
Boxing is the one sport that I am consistently interested in. All other big league sports I have or am now losing interest in. Big league sports are so watered down with new rules, too many commercials, obnoxious athletes, and idiots in the commentary booth.
Probably wouldn't be on a boxing forum if I didn't love boxing. All forums have died down due to other forms of social media. I follow it far more on Facebook, youtube, and Twitter now, but still come here when I think of it. I follow tons of boxing pages so my news feeds on both are constantly talking boxing. Feels like its growing on there. Showtime boxing Facebook page almost has 2 mill followers now
Yes!!
Boxing is and will alaways br the greatest sport to exist imo 2015 and last year really were high points for this sport, this year isn't living up to the hype as much but te possibilities are alaways endless in this sport.

Am I the only one that feels this way?
No. I watch UFC more these days. Regular fights, ranked contenders vs suitably ranked contenders and just more bang for your buck, and I don't even like MMA.
It pains me how bland, uneventful and just plain circumspect most boxers have become today. It's not even a jaded, getting older thing - it's transparent to anyone how corrupt and incredibly dull boxing has become.
This forum died down because Forums IN GENERAL are a dying platform because of Social Media and stuff like Facebook Groups, Group Chat and other platforms which honestly are way better. :dunno:
As for the Sport of boxing, 5 months into the year and I would say it has been a very good year of fights so far. For Showtime at least it has been a very good year so far with fights like Wilder vs Ortiz, Hurd vs Lara, Vargas vs Broner. But as a Boxing Fan In General we need good fights on all platforms that shows boxing. ESPN and HBO could use some better match ups consistently. With ESPN things will pick up with Crawford vs Horn, Pacquiao vs Matthysse, Loma vs Linares so they will be fine.
With HBO the Canelo thing was a MAJOR setback! They don't have any major matches coming up at all. Their Upcoming Fight Schedule is: GGG vs Vanes and Sadam Ali vs. Jaime Munguia and that is it :nonono:
I love the sport itself, what happens inside the ring. But I hate the organizations, how the sport is run, the multiple million belts, and the lack of single champions per weight class.
I also hate the absence of accountability for judges. They need to indicate why they score the fights the way they do. For each round, they should name the specific criteria that made them score the round the way they did. Ring generalship, was it? Effective aggression? Or what?
And I hate not knowing that I'll eventually get to see who the best fighter is in each division. I prefer how ALL other sports eventually match up the best against the best. Boxing misses this terribly.
Finally I hate day-before weigh-ins. This has made weight gamesmanship a key part of the sport, when it shouldn't be.
I like boxing. I'd like it a lot more if the sport were better organized, more fair, more accountable.
