There was a long Jin Mosley rant posted, about how shaw screwed corrales over on the financial end, and how they went to the mosleys for financial advice, but supposedly that wasnt till around the clottey fight I think.
The fight was definitely a good one but no where near Vazquez-Marquez I/II...
Azuquita has a BIG heart, he wouldnt go down after being badly hurt. Martinez looks alot like Paez Jr lol
lol.I noticed that, it was a wtf moment.
Jimenez is a tough, tough dude. Ive seen him comeback when he was way behind on points, because he just dosent stop trying. This was basicaly his first career loss. Roman Martinez must be pretty fuckin good to take it to jimenez like that.
My bad, I forgot he had a more recent fight.
But the real issue is, why does a thread about a real rising star get seven replies? Motherfuckers want to talk more about Floyd and Hatton I guess
I was on the Dawson bandwagon bigtime, but those two KD made me take a hard look at dawson, and I dont feel the same about him anymore.
It wasnt just the KD's, its that I think he got by more on athleticism than anything else, I dont see the skills there that I thought I saw after his win against Ian Gardner.
Worse than Gatti!?!?! Seriously, that was Mayweather's ost masterful performance. I can't see Floyd embarassing Ricky to that extent with Hatton being young, in his prime, and undefeated. I just can't.
If we're taking into consideration the quality of the opponent, then yes, easy.
Im sure floyd beat the shit out of some bums when he turned pro, those dont really count as masterful performances though.
OMG this fight is AMAZING.
nah its not on yet.Pretty good undercard fight though. Prospect vs the guy who beat escobedo
Dont think I'll be able to do a RbR though, kind of watching 2 streams here.
his lack of power is gonna hurt him at lightfly, especially since he doesnt have the stamina to box nonstop for 12 rounds....im telling you anyone with punch, decent speed and stamina will give calderon trouble...
I dont know if thats fair... I think the thing thats gonna hurt him is just his size.Dude is puny. This is probably the first time Calderon has been hurt like he was, but he was fighting a relatively huge dude. He'll definetly have to do more to consistently win than he had to before, but to say he dosent have the stamina to box for 12 rounds or that "anyone" with decent speed and stamina can beat him, is a little much I think.
its over man... Witter just knocked him out
I typed that while he updated it.
Anyways, Harris sucks. 140 isnt so bad that it needs Harris in the mix.
Off the top of my head theres Holt, Arnoutis,Malignaggi, Torres, & witter keeps winning.
a focused Harris is a top 5 junior Welterweight. He seemed focused for this bout i think. Hes a real off/on fighter. maybe he was off, idk. BUt if he was on, and he does get stopped, thats a great win if you ask me
hes hardly beaten anyone of note even...maybe Urkal? Those were decent wins considering he went to germany.
Of the two Witter is the better fighter if only for being consistent.
Jesus christ, does everybody here play the race card? Ever think it had something to do with his crowd pleasing style? Or his punching output? Or power? I can't imagine what would happen if I had said something like that about a black fighter.
Arum has/has had plenty of fighters that happen to be non-white with marketable styles. I never heard him mention getting them on cable.
I wanst calling him a racist, I find it funny if anything. And race/nationality are definetly part of the sport of boxing...the marketing side, and this was a marketing decision, I was just pointing out that Arum is doing it kind of blatantly in this case.
Thanks for playing, you win by guessing right.
Well he's white...he dosent seems that marketable though. Personality wise.
He has kind of a redneck vibe, no? Maybe thats popular with the kids though.
That could very well be the reason why he'd pick Pavlik, but over the years there's been dozens of marketable black and hispanic fighters who were on cable fighting and doing commercials.
for real?
I cant think of that many.
Why is Arum making Pavlik his poster boy? Is it because hes a marketable white fighter? Just seems a little odd that he should say this about pavlik all of a sudden.
He's alot like Ricky Hatton. Very humble and tells it like it is but he has a charm to him and doesnt come across as fake or arrogant.
yeah that dosent count for anything in ratings. You need guys with charisma to pull an audience in. All the KOs in the world arent going to "help boxing" if nobody new is watching.
I agree PBF would win.Cotto has too much trouble against guys with speed.
Judah hurt him early on because thats when he actually let his hands go.
I was a little disappointed with cotto, he showed very limited ability to make the needed defensive adjustments.
PBF frustrates cotto over 12 rounds en route to a decision win.
If you're not even willing to entertain the thought that the 33 year old fighter with 63 fights under his belt might just be past his best... I think youre being a little closed minded.
I'm looking forward to it because im hoping soto annhilates bobby and makes manny wanna fight him and we can get FOTY 2007 :-D
exactly..........
and I only see bobby giving soto trouble if he fights dirty.
