Thats pretty Intresting, i cant wait for this fight this will be FOTY for sure, The 1st fights would of been if it would of gone a little longer.
Same here. It seems like I spend all year waiting for Marquez fights, Klitchko fights, Calzaghe and several others. and the level of anticipation is extreme. I like to watch other fighters, certainly, and some of the best fights I see every year are young unknown guys on MSG channel, or Showbox, etc. but I really look forward to my favorites. They always put on a good show, and their fights go straight to DVD. It's actually pretty great, to have nearly a dozen fighters that I like to watch that are almost always guaranteed to give a great show. Not that many times in my life have I been able to claim that privilege.
I do disagree about the first fight not being a candidate for FOTY. Short or not, it was fantastic. Both fighters down, both fighters landing great shots throughout. Wonderful display of big hitters who can fight, and love to mix it up. Fuck pure boxers, I'll take guys like Marquez any day at twice the price.
Id be more worried for Marquez if it had been Goosen, frankly.
I wonder why that didnt work out.
Goossen is an excellent trainer. But he had Israel doing around 30 rounds of work with 30 seconds rest.....and that was just in the FIRST week. I agree I thought Goossen could of been a nice addition to the camp, but ultimately it's up to Vazquez. If there is no chemistry what can you do??

I doubt thats a permanent arrangement you talk about. Rudy Perez leaves for Los Angeles today to train Israel.
Frank Espinosa, Israel's manager offered rudy the job and he accepted. Rudy said he was flying to LA today.
Israel is expecting rudy according to the article.
Maybe you need to check again or something. Because Rudy and Israel both expressed that they will be working together. So unless you are Frank Espinosa himself or someone who can legally or monetarilly come between them I dont see how the information i just posted can be considered wrong until proven otherwise.
You are correct. But Justin Fortune will also remain in the camp as well. (if he still wants to)
Vazquez plans on working with Rudy this week.
it doesnt make a difference! marquez will beat his ass even worse this time.
It wasn't exactly a one-sided fight last time, until the last few rounds. Remember Marquez taking the trip to the canvas? Both guys can bang, both can box. I think the innate ruggedness of Marquez is really what won him the fight, and will again.
On a side note....Marquez is the only guy in these lower weight classes that I've ever seen put a guy on queer street with a jab in one fight, and then break another guy's nose in another fight. That little Mexican has scary power for his size. I saw Foreman KO a guy with a little jab/uppercut once, but that's really the only other time I've ever seen that sort of power-per-poundage. And you can look at his physique and tell that he (Marquez) isn't juicing. The kid's just really strong.
Well you got our info . just a little wrong...
Vazquez drop Goosen as a trainer 2 weeks ago.. and he has been currently training with JUSTIN FORTUNE in the Pound4pound Gym in La brea..

I just read that Israel Vasquez left Joe Goossen and Rudy Perez, Barrera's trainer will train Vasquez instead!!!!
Just an update.

Your right, but the only thing I would say is that Marquez is definitely the more skilled boxer out of the two. In there first fight he was connecting the harder and more effective punches. Plus beating Vasquez to the punch with his straighter punches.
I guess I'm going to have to watch the fight again, it's been awhile. I could be mistaken. Gee, what a terrible way to have to spend an hour or so on a Sunday, eh? ;)
Vasquez's problem with Marquez wasn't his trainer. He just stepped into a ring with someone he couldn't beat at that time. Marquez is very durable, a HUGE puncher at that weight class, and has good technical skill. Vasquez is probably a bit more skilled than Marquez, and very nearly the puncher, but proved to be slightly less durable. No shame in it, sometimes there are guys who's combined attributes make them impossible for you to beat. You might beat someone who beat them, but they're impossible for you. Also, who's to say what'll happen in the rematch? If Vasquez can get on Marquez early, he might get the stoppage. I think both fighters are great, and while Marquez is my favorite to win this one, I wouldn't be upset no matter who came out on top. This is going to be one of my favorites this year.
Vasquez more skilled than Marquez? Are you sure?

What happened to Roach?
That's what I thought wasn't he with Roach. I know Roach has been going with the big names of late with DLH and B-Hop, but I didn't know Vasquez left Roach to go to Goosen and then now to Barrera's trainer.
