Actually, it was Joe Cortez who made Marquez. Had he stopped the first fight after the third knockdown like 99% of all refs, Marquez would be an HBO after dark fighter and nothing more. JMM owes his legacy to Cortez. If Im not mistaking I believe there was no 3 knockdown ruling.
