I just want to take this time in between the trolls and fan boys to say that the Bradley vs Provodnikov fight was amazing. One of the best fights I have seen in a long time.
I don't care who you were rooting for, who you think is good or isn't good, that was a display of two warriors. Toe to toe, man to man...holy sh1t that was crazy. Both men were hurt and Bradley just gained a fan in me, what heart, what chin.
I have all the respect in the world for MMA and it's athletes but only boxing can give you this type of fight. It's the limitations of boxing, the fact you can't wrestle, kick or elbow that gives you these kinds of fights.
This was Micky Ward v Arturo Gatti, this was Rios vs Alvarado, this was the violent aspect of boxing that even family members have to excuse themselves because they can't watch it.
What an amazing fukin fight.....props to both.
I don't think it's fair that you can call him overrated. He is undefeated, is a warrior and even though he's not a KO puncher, still commands the respect of his opponents.
Agreed. He's a B fighter skill wise, a good athlete and has the ability to box when he wants too. But that's not what makes him a p4p fighter. His heart, will, determination and ability to overcome adversity is the reason why he's a 30-0 fighter with a very strong resume. It's the things that can't be worked on in the gym that make Timothy Bradley a special fighter. That's why he's top 10 pound for pound until somebody comes in and defeats him.
Yes, he got a gift decision against Pacquiao but his toughness and determination to win allowed him to finish the 12 rounds, close the fight on a good note and give him the slight chance of squeaking out a victory on the scorecards.

I wish I could give you more green K but I can't!
well ufc 158 main event waste my 30min of life, sucks it doesnt live the hype, worst beating huh safe pierre, and yes im still bitter, thx to bradley and ruslan they saved it
MMA is entertaining when they have exchanges which is probably like 15% of the time , then they hug each other and fall on the floor and start wrestling in tight shorts and that's when I change the channel to Sabado Gigante.
that part is the truth.
he is overrated. he's not a p4p fighter.
he's also ballsy as anybody in the sport and a true warrior. we saw his limitations against provodnikov. i want to see them rematch that fight.
bradley was held up by the ropes more than once, and he was certainly down in the first. i don't care if they call it a slip when he went down initially int he first, when you get back up and fall down again because your world is rocked then it is a knockdown.

MMA, though a interesting sport; does not have the structure and hype behind it any longer.
Boxing on the other hand has never changed when it comes to the brutality and the willingness to allow two warriors fight. There where times I myself who doesn't like early stoppages, felt Bradley might need one.
If this fight occurred in MMA/UFC, it would have resulted in a stoppage or ended on the ground within the first time one of them got hurt.
Simplicity of boxing is what makes it so Brutal, Exciting, and Addictive.
But people still find a way to criticize Bradley and talk s**t about him. He stinks the place out and wins convincingly, he's boring. He takes risks, trades with a huge puncher, almost gets KFTO, he's overrated.
You can't win with these clowns.

Exciting MMA died with pride. I'm sorry but scoring a take down for points is lame and boring, you get more points for a take down then an actual knockdown in the UFC.
Now it's just a money grab. All hype not much substance.

That's the main reason why I made this thread. It's not that MMA isn't tough or a sport I respect..I do. It's just that boxing's limitations are what make it so exciting. The fact that you can only hit with the fists, is why these fights are amazing.
It's all match ups. MMA has some great wars in the stand up and on the ground. Hideo Tokoro vs Abel Cullum is an absolutely amazing ground battle. Rarely talked about but really high level grappling being displayed.
For stand up wars? How about like 80% of Eddie Alvarez' fights.
Also, the fight tonight wasn't even 10% of Rios vs Alvarado.

I greatly prefer boxing to MMA but the Condit vs Hendricks fight (that was during the Bradley fight) was one of the best MMA fights ever and pisses all over the TS's argument.
u right, if scoring in MMA was change i think a lot of the MMA fights could turn out like that fight

Did anyone noticed that the head referee of the UFC was sitting next to the judges of the Bradley fight and not at the UFC event. Why was he there and not at the UFC event.
