Taylor's lucky the fight wasn't 15 rounds, or he might have died.
No joke, very true.
Just like that South Korean dude died and the WBC ended up changing the rules, making 12 round fights.
Meh, not in a rush to see them fight. Ultra boring fighting style, ultra boring personalities. Fan base here in the states doesn't seem all that passionate.
If no more come through, I'm ok with that.
Washed up much smaller Cotto on a close decision as a “great win” exposes him as a casual fan as does a gift decision over Lara and didn’t most of these “fans” insist GGG was a bum? Whereas this poster actually created a thread about how great Linares is and how Loma will duck him. He blocked me so I can’t bump it but it’s out there.
Oh, he also said Rigo will kill Loma and that Rigo was p4p #1 so he doesn’t even think Canelo has beaten anyone better.
Here comes this little biatch spreading lies again.
His team was gonna sell him to Golovkin for a quick buck before he could get his career started. These people are not looking out for his best interests.
Nah. Young Mexican cat from Tijuana just like Morales and Margarito. That's a kid you build into a star. He has skills and heart and he's young.
Cha...ching.
ESPN is better. DAZN is a bunch of bum fights. Jacobs reportedly going back to PBC. Canelo moving to 168.
Lemiux would be an interesting fight. Im down to watch that.
That's a gimmie for him. I just dont see what Bob can offer. Fight on ESPN and face who though?
I believed de la goya once brought that up but more of a loan. He proposed letting TR borrow mates in exchange for Rios. TR would've made Mars vs donaire and Gbp would've made rios vs maidana I think at 140.
Damn, De La Hoya was onto to something. Would have loved both of those fights a few years ago.
I do like Shobox. However, bring me back ESPN Friday night fight with Teddy and Joe as well as USA Thursday Night Fights
Can't believe you like this.
I'm a hardcore fan, will watch low budget **** too, but I can't stand Teddy. He's always yelling, always a bit of a maniac and seems unable to control himself a lot of the time. Was the only reason I stopped watching FNF's before all the changes.
Get him off ESPN please, execs, I'm begging you.
i been watching since chavez vs de la hoya. and now with everything going to these bull***** streaming apps, im starting to lose interest. but thats because i always watch the fights on shotime, hbo, espn, fox, etc. and now there are fewer n fewer fights on tv, i dont stream fights or get apps. i dont even have a smart phone or smart tv to do that. its a pain in the ass after all these years of just putting the channel on to watch, to now i gotta find a way to purchase an app and stream...and i remember tv networks saying boxing coming back to free tv, and all i see is dazn and espn+...... fukn wack.
Well since you don't have a smart phone you're in a very very exclusive group.
I would say you can't be unhappy about the move towards streaming.
It's like getting mad at technology for progressing. Like a cab driver getting mad at Uber. You need to adapt. Not as scary as you think. Cable TV is slowly dying, just the way the world and technology is headed. Watch what you want, when you want.
DAZN is a good thing where you can watch a lot of boxing for only 9.99 a month. ESPN+ isn't that bad either for just 5 bucks.
What boxing should be about:
- Integrity
- Honour
- A test of the will
- Fairness
- The art of violence
What boxing seems to actually be about:
- Twitter
- Money
- Ticket sales
- PPV numbers
- Corruption
I dunno, maybe I'm depressed or something, but coming out of the gym this morning, I just got thinking about the ideals of boxing, and how we fall so short of achieving those ideals.
Thank you Floyd Mayweather.
Get more referees like smoger and bring back 15 rounds and even minor fights on free to air channels would be worth watching.
15 rounds?
It was changed to 12 because people were dying. Too many blows to the head. I wouldnt want a return to 15 rounds.
PBC vs ESPN+ vs DAZN.
Haymon/PBC vs Bob/Top Rank vs Oscar/GBP vs Eddie Hearn/Matchroom
Pick your team for world domination because this is what's happening. Boxing fans are boxer fan boys and promoter fan boys and network fan boys.
Just the boxing culture we're living in. Those talking down about DAZN are fans of the other side.
What longer fighters? Canelo was having issues with Khan
Jacobs has been dropped a whopping 3 times. 2 of them were flash knockdowns
If Jacobs is chinny, so is 90% of boxers as well as past/future HOFers and ATGs. I have a laundry list
3 knockdowns is a lot.
I had no issue watching their last show. I was watching it on my phone.
Haven't looked for replays so idk if what you are saying about replays is true, but they got a library there I know & I would hope recent fights are in there. If they aren't thats kinda bs.
Also yea I'm like you & don't give a f#ck about 98% of the sh^t ESPN+ is putting in my way of boxing. I just wanna see boxing sh^t (& MMA sh^t when the UFC sh^t lands there) so if there is some way to customize this app I'd love to know how to make it more viewer friendly for anyone who knows.
Thus far I definitely feel the DAZN app is the superior product cuz right off the bat I can click on the boxing button & all the boxing sh^t shows up. Thats what ESPN+ needs right on the top of the home page. Or if its there I need to find it lol.
Yea it clutters the page with too many sports I don't want.
I just one a giant boxing tab, click on that and bam, all the replays and upcoming scheduled fights.
The way he says things may be sometimes over the top but I challenge anyone to question the content of what he says. As a matter of fact I think our culture has become so pussified that even the way he says things isn’t an issue with me. Especially when I had a Drill Instructor barking down my neck for 13 weeks at Parris Island. The man is a walking encyclopedia of boxing knowledge and a good trainer to boot. He is the ONLY ONE begging Congress to investigate the corruption that is boxing yet no one has his back
No one has his back because he cries robbery too many times. GGG losing vs Canelo wasn't robbery. It was close, so it couldn't have been. He later went on Joe Rogan podcast a few days later and said it wasn't a robbery, but he had to stick by his robbery claims because he needs to stand by his statements.
He's hurting the sport more crying about "robbery" brainwashing casuals, and deterring them from coming back. Think about it.
Also, I don't want a drill instructor type talking about boxing. I want dialogue with his peers using great insight and analysis in a controlled way. He sounds loud and drunk half the time.
I don't want shouting fool. Sorry, but was not my cup of tea and I decided to not tune in anymore.
You guys don't understand. Jacobs is a boring dude, and people don't care to watch him fight either. No outstanding skillset, no charming personality, no good looks, no villainous characterization of his persona, no nothing.
I love boxing, and even I said "I'll catch the replay...maybe"
So I'm not surprised. Only thing he has going for him right now that is grabbing some media/fan attention is calling out the Charlo's, that's it.
