Now I'm hearing all this shlt about Fox PPV. I mean it seems like Any half way decent fight is going to be on ppv and the only fights on free TV will be total garbage mismatches.
Imagine if all fighters signed to DAZN and all you had to pay was $10 a month NO PPVs.
Fck switching to showtime, showtime ppv, fox ppv, espn, fs1, espn +.
DAZN IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO

Honestly, it would be great if all boxing was available in a subscription like DAZN, however, we're not there yet.
Unrealistic expectations.
You can't even make the top fighters fight each other on non-free tv.
Let alone see them fight on free tv.
I really don't care if it's not on free tv.
What happened to the Charlo vs Lara fight, for example?
What happened to the Charlo vs Hurd fight?
Why is the bigger Charlo fighting in another predictable result?
See why this free tv thing is the last thing you should care about?
It's because they found a platform. That old business model was only a temporary one any way until boxing found a mainstream audience and it did with Fox and Showtime.
Now the PBC, with its two platforms combined are obligated to produce at least 52 cards per year; 30 with Showtime and 22 with Fox.
13 replies and nobody has dared answer the actual question. Im curious too because for so long all we heard was “boxing on free tv! Whooppeee! Thanks Uncle Al. You’re changing the game”.
Nothing changed and now the plan is more ppvs.
Well since people complained about "ACTIVITY" well PPV's I guess are needed for that to happen :dunno:
I agree it is very hypocritical BUT I understand why it is being done this way. You get FREE, Premium and PPV but PPV's should be maybe 49.99/59.99 not $85 or whatever
Devon Alexander and John Molina are exactly who will fight on the FS1 cards, at best. FOX will have big names (like the Charlos) in non-threatening fights. Good fights will go to Showtime. Great fights will be on PPV. So much for free boxing.
I doubt Fox signed a 4 year contract for that.
PBC fed us some bulls**t and we ate it up. Most of their fights will remain on Showtime (premium cable) or PPV. We're not getting any of their premier match-ups on FOX (free TV) let alone FS1 (cable).
We will see. You think Fox gave them 26 dates to fill with Devon Alexander and John Molina?
They're trying to be the UFC with this ****. Expect a lot of PPV's and the lower quality stuff to be on FOX.
I wouldn't say they're tryin to be UFC. HBO back in the day did countless PPVs. Sometimes 2 in one month.
They said no more than 2-4 PPVs a year. Still more than what they usually do since they never did PPVs.
This is also probably what Fox offered them. You get 26 Fox dates but we're gonna need a few PPVs from you guys.
We will see pretty soon if those fights will even be PPVs.
