I disagree. Arum had a tentative date for Bud the week after his fight. Once Loma was cleared to fight he had a fight booked within a week or two iirc. Kathy Duva lined up that Kov rematch pretty quick. Thats the standard not the exception. Hearn isn't special with that. Generally promoters keep their guys in a rotation. This IS a problem for PBC guys who have zero or lil promoter contact. Those guys seem to have issues with a quick turnaround. I mean look at Spence. He blew out a bs mando in a round in June & he's still on the shelf without a definite date. Thats the PBC way not the regular way boxers with promoters do it. This thing about taking long layoff after a fight has become a culture in the PBC camp. I don't think it's been this way before. What happens is long vacations have become the bigger motivation for these fighters. Even networks like Showtime have gotten used to it. It almost seems like it's just an obligation or a chore to come up with meaningless fights to quell fans' anger, like a band-aid fix. Not because they want to do it right. There's just no interest in continuity after a fight. There's just no long-term plans for their fighters. Man, long-term probably stretches decades for these people.

Guess I struck a nerve with people lol. I agree with many of the post. Especially that the sport needs a centralized set up. The gossip and troll post in the forums are at an all time high. I'm all about good convos and boxing talk, not boxer bashing. But I'm just tired if reading about potential fights that could happen soon or next and then seeing a promoter responding with, "not for a longtime", or "he doesn't need to fight him". Crawford Spence, wilder Joshua, Loma garcia, the 3 best fights in boxing, must happen in 2019, and high chance they will not You have to define boxer bashing to the trolls who dont care to listen. Saying fighter A would beat fighter B isnt boxer bashing. Especially if you have a legit opinion and reasoning other than generic talking points. But no, talk "bad" like in the example above about their man crush and they go ****ing wild. Especially to those "fans" that only care about a boxers skin color. Nationality. Man crush. Etc. Everything but the boxing aspect. Like imo Mikey Garcia is #2 at 135, hes a good fighter, but hes ducking an easy fight in Lomachenko. Everyone but Mikey wants it. They do! Mikey for some reason wants Spence. Great goal but stupid fight to make. But no, because I point out the obvious and think Lomachenko is better than Mikey I AM A HATER. The ****? As a boxing fan first and foremost Mikey vs Spence does nothing for the sport. The outcome is almost a guarantee. If Mikey wins, good for him. I'm rooting for him but I dont think he will win because hes TOO SMALL.

Well since you don't have a smart phone you're in a very very exclusive group. I would say you can't be unhappy about the move towards streaming. It's like getting mad at technology for progressing. Like a cab driver getting mad at Uber. You need to adapt. Not as scary as you think. Cable TV is slowly dying, just the way the world and technology is headed. Watch what you want, when you want. DAZN is a good thing where you can watch a lot of boxing for only 9.99 a month. Nowadays you don't expect fighters to start negotiating their next fight after their fights. You expect them to take a very looooong layoff before seeing them back in the ring again. The Charlo twins, for instance, barely get scratches after their fights. They can even fight the next day, yet their handlers would rather see them loiter around doing stupid things like teenagers do. I see only see Hearn making an effort.

I'm a Sports FAN so for me boxing comes in maybe 4th as my favorite sport despite being a Hardcore for it. It is College Football Season, NFL Season and NBA Season going on right now that I can enjoy while waiting for Boxing to get it's sh#t together so maybe that is why I'm not really having a melt down like some fans who go crazy because Spence Jr vs Crawford is not happening in December (which was never realistic!) ALL of these fights are going to happen, they always do but boxing fans are never very patient, Boxing fan act like they're the ones running out of time and like we must see every big fight NOW when that is not the case at all. Some fights do need to be built up more and are big fights for SOME Hardcore fans but not for all boxing fans and most certainly not to casual. IF these are truly big fights that fans claim they are then fighters SHOULD want to assure they make the most money possible off those fights. It is not JUST about our entertainment as fans, it is a "BUSINESS" for a lot of these guys as it should be. They have to feed their families and also think about life after boxing in which they don't have Benefits and Pensions to help them after they retire they have to set all that up themselves

yup i agree with all of this ...i couldnt care less about jacbos/chenko pulev/fury prograis vs whoever ...from this last weekend...usually id be amped with so much boxing ...but honestly i didnt care ,,i was more interested in the lame UFC card

Just like movies, music, and sports in general, boxing is watered down now. Ive been a boxing junkie for as long as i can remember but i can definitely say that the passion for the sport isnt what it used to be. Boxing forums are the same. Quality of topics and conversations has gone down drastically conpared to say 15 years ago. Back when i started posting in the early 2ks, forums were very interesting and i remember getting into good debates for hours. There were some real boxing gurus that shared knowledge and i aint gonna lie, I learned alot from other posters. Fast forward like 10 years and fights arent as good and forums suck too. Im sorry. Boxing is still my love so I still post but tbh, Boxingscene is sht. It’s sht because there are bunch of snot nosed little kids and sht gossiping like girls .. nigas fighting over networks and promoters as if they are on payroll and sht. Dudes are phags nowadays. The best should ALWAYS be fighting the best in boxing like what happens in every other sport. On any given Sunday, the #1 NFL team may be facing the #32 NFL team. So it's not that the best should always face the best, it's that the best should eventually face and in boxing, that's not always the case. A champion facing #8, #15, #20 would be fine if he was also facing #1 every 18 months. In UFC, the top two guys in a division are very likely to face at some point. In boxing, the top two may never face. You need a centralized power structure that runs & looks out for boxing first & foremost. PBC is the best chance of that happening. In football, hockey, baseball, basketball, etc, there are plenty of leagues around the world, but the US has one clear dominant league in each sport. That's what is needed in boxing. One clear dominant league in the US with its own champion, like UFC. Can PBC pull it off? Too soon to say, but they've made a lot of progress. Could take a decade or longer before we really know how realistic the goal is.

Generally the gossip sh^t seems to be SM driven so as long as you stay away from SM (although I guess that could include a site like this one often) you can avoid that. And f#ck yea I'm completely on board with the business of boxing & the art of promotion f#cking up the desire of fans & the legacy of fighters. The best should ALWAYS be fighting the best in boxing like what happens in every other sport. Boxing could be improved tomorrow if anyone with some power decided that boxing should make as much sense as other sports. You need a centralized power structure that runs & looks out for boxing first & foremost. You don't need this bs which works like a ton of small businesses all looking out for their own good first & foremost. Some QB in the NFL or some pitcher in the MLB can't control their own destiny quite like a boxer can, a promoter can for a boxer or a manager for a boxer. Thats cool that boxers have so much control of their destiny, but it always greatly damages the quality control of boxing which is one of the least competitive sports at the elite level cuz there is very little ability in keeping unproven fighters from getting big fights. At the highest level of the sport no top ten guy should be fighting a guy you could say is #38 or #52 or even further down. The top guys should ONLY be fighting each other at the tip top level. This is how things work in every other f#cking sport basically. Certainly every major sport that one could say is above boxing in the minds & hearts of sports fans. Thats a huge mfing problem for the integrity of the sport that there is no quality control at any f#cking level of the sport. /my rant lol Boxing definitely needs an international commission ASAP, the WBC and WBA are super crooked

The part in bold pretty much sums it up for me. I've been watching boxing since the early 90's. I check a few sites daily. I come here and read a few stories and check the forum to see what's being said. I've been losing interest in boxing for quite awhile now. Not sure when it started, but a lot of the talk started being about how much a fighter is going to make and PPV buys and being undefeated. There was a time when none of that was being talked about. At least not as much. I just dropped HBO. Picked up DAZN, but just feel kinda meh about it and the rest of boxing. Boxing is the only sport I follow, and I feel that may be coming to an end. Especially as fragmented as things are.

Ive noticed I have been checking my boxing news much less than usual. I'm still a big fan of the sport and looking forward to the fight schedule, but im tired of reading all the gossip articles about im ready to fight blah blah, and hes scared to fight blah blah, etc. I find myself just checking the boxing fight schedule and just tuning in. I can't lie Im also pretty bummed that we are not getting crawford vs spence for a long time if ever. I feel we should get that fight before the summer instead of making us wait maybe 2 years. Its such a great fight that should happen soon. Rant Disengaged. not only that, but spence vs Garcia will take the shine of a Garcia vs loma fight, unless Garcia somehow wins...in which case moving back down to face Loma is less likely and spence losing would take the shine off the Crawford fight. The situation sucks all around.

there hasn't been this great of a divide in boxing since 2009-2015. i seriously hope these promoters are able to work together and make fights. if they can make money in stabel they will. just keep that in mind. use your voice and your wallets, show them how you feel and they will get the message. hbo leaving had me feeling down and out for awhile, but FFS that thing had turned into a joke and we all knew this was coming. now that canelo is out of showtime's hands i exepct them to either try and turn wilder into a star, or bow their way out in time. TV is a thing of the past. 10 years from now nobody will be watching it.
