I swear some of y'all 'boxing fans' sit around here rooting for fights to do badly. It was a great fight on a great card, I hope it did well and as many people got to see it as possible, I don't understand how any 'fan' would hope for anything else.
I saw it at an IMAX Theater. It was 3/4 full and rocked. I'm hooked on the huge screen, reclining seats, and surround sound. Sounds like you're actually at the fight ..... cheers, noises, chatter, punches coming from all around you, LoL. :boxing:
PS - Sneak your spirits in.
PSS - almost a fight in the theater. Doesn't get more live than that.
Same! Apart from being there live it's the best way to watch the fights. Got four great fights on a giant screen with great sound and a bunch of boxing fans going nuts.
You’re Ridiculous and clearly not biased
So First it was the Ref , and once that was proven wrong now it’s the Judges and Drs , Am I reading this right.
Again your just complaining to complain with no real substance to back up your tears.
Didn’t have a problem with the Draw against Fury , Fury got put on his a.ss twice and without the help of the ref you earlier claimed was conspiring with PBc the fight would have been waived off. Fury would have won the fight the only thing he had to do was not get KD in the 12th , guess what happens he got KD in the 12th and it became a draw.
The Wilder / Ortiz scoring , Yeah I’ll agree with you the Judges favoured Wilder , But That happens all the time to Cuban Fighters who have no fans , May I remind you of Lara / P-Will scorecards or when Rigo best Donaire from pillar to post for the entire fight the judges gave Donaire 4-5-6 rounds. Cubans get no respect in this sport it’s not just a Ortiz thing.
I think the results of
Harrison - Charlo
Hurd - J/Roc
Don’t really support your claim
You basically have described how the entire Sport operates , Any fighter who generates $ or backed by a Powerful Team in the Sport usually gets rounds / decisions
They didn’t necessarily deserve. Sh.it Canelos never had 1 scorecard in his entire career go against him. Unfortunately Boxing is a Business first & a sport 2nd and fighters who can generate business don’t play by the same rules as fighter who can’t
It’s not a PBC thing it’s a boxing thing
But the PBc isn’t as bad as some in the business
You're talking too much truth for this board right now... Preach!
I think the best realistic fight for Boots next is Abdukakharov, he doesn't have the name recognition Mean Machine has but he's the IBF #1 and ranked in the top 10 by sanctioning body. A Boots win against him would slot him in as the IBF mandatory which is his best bet to getting a big fight.
He's a fun, skilled fighter and a big personality with no filter in interviews, watch his last fight with Arboleda if you're trying to get a sense of him or just tune in tonight for the fight with with King Tug should be a fun scrap.
Love this card! Huge fan of Fulton and of Roman would love to see them win and fight each other after, Figueroa and Aleem are also fun fighters... Throw MJ vs Rios in the mix and 122 division is on fire!
A fight with GRJr would be a really interesting matchup but has 0% chance of happening... Top Rank controls a lot of the talent at 130, I think Navarette moves up to fight there against the likes of Valdez, Stevenson, Herring and Berchelt sooner rather than later.
This is the correct take... It was a great a fight, Haney did what he could to ensure it was an entertaining fight and got buzzed but was able to weather the storm and hold on to win. I thought these were the kind of fights and situations we want to see young champions in. It turns out Haney is supremely talented but also vulnerable, maybe a bit like Linares was when he was coming up, that should be a good thing it should mean that in the loaded divisions he'll be competing in with all the other young talent that is and will be in those divisions that he'll be in a lot of exciting and potentially great fights. That should make us fans happy, I really don't understand the hate...
I think Devin's style is a nightmare for Tank, but, Tank has the great equalizer. I could see a Haney UD but I can also see Tank scoring a KO late in a fight where he is down on the cards. Both outcomes seem equally likely for me, which is why I think it'd be such a great fight.
Yeah, I gotta co sign this, I thought he was gonna get steamrolled, he was masterful in there last night. Incredible performance capped off with an incredible KO.
Ugas will be the co-main on the Pacquiao-Spence card
Ugas vs Boots in the Pac vs Spence co-feature maybe?!?! Boots said on IG he starts camp on Monday, that would be a great fight and make that a great card but I'm not getting my hopes up Pac Spence is gonna be on FOX ppv and Boots fights on Showtime. Finger crossed low key tho
Pretty harsh to call Badou Jack a journeyman. He won a legit world title at 168 and a fake one at 175. And he fought, consecutively:
Anthony Dirrell - W, won WBC 168 title
George Groves - W, retained WBC 168 title
Lucian Bute - W, retained WBC 168 title
James DeGale - D, retained WBC title; for Degale's IBF and vacant Ring, Lineal 168 titles (robbery)
Nathan Cleverly - W, won WBA (Regular) 175 title
Adonis Stevenson - D, for WBC and Lineal 175 titles
Marcus Browne - L , for WBA Interim 175 title(cut fight)
Jean Pascal - L, for WBA (Regular) 175 title (split decision)
Man deserves more respeck than to be called a journeyman.
Seriously, preach!
He's never gonna be Arturo Gatti or some is but he's been matched poorly imo as well. He needs a guy who's going to put relentless pressure on him and force him to fight... For whatever reason he's been matched with guys who want to box but are levels below him in talent and get so frustrated by his control of distance and counter punching they pack it in and settle for boring wide defeats. While I think tonight's fight will be competitive, I also think it will be peck and paw type of affair.
And what about if this fight fall through ?
It’ll be a long time before he comes close to making 1.2 million
He is literally shooting himself in the foot
Greener pastures if he takes and wins this fight
He'd probably make about that if he fought Tank, Haney or Garcia and close for any unification fight or a fight against a big name at 140.
Good question, Raheem definitely had skills and I could see him in the mix with the best LWs right now. Loma beats him, I think Haney beats him, Lopez and him would be an interesting fight 50/50 for me. I think he frustrates and beats Tank. I'd slightly favor him over current Linares, and slightly favor him over Ryan Garcia I think.
Fock u, ur sparring footage wif mayweather was edited u punk bish
The **** you talking bout sparring footage with Mayweather, must got me confused for somebody else, lol
that would kinda explain his boredom
Any idea on who got the better of one another on those amateur fights?
I'm pretty sure they fought 6 times as amateurs and were 3-3 overall.
This would be a great fight, I'm a big fan of Caleb Plant, he's got a style that could give Canelo problems but it'd be hard to pick against Canelo tho.
