Yeah we just did it ourselves... Definitely f-ed up on the challenger champion. When involved in something for a while you kind of miss the little things. probably gonna re-work. Definitely going for the retro-latin feel. Thanks for the comments that actually said why you liked or didn't like it, and didn't just rip on it. Appreciate it.
I could do that on photoshop in five seconds, Easy.
Pretty much how we went about it... But it seems no one ever throws up stuff like that so we try to keep it coming.
kinda cool not sure if its real though
100 % real. All be it for a small time spanish-speaking demographic poster. We know the artist. I am sure there is stuff all over like this...
I don't mind watching UFC or World Combat, but as we all know nothing compares to boxing. When someone questions how I can religiously follow boxing but tend to only watch Mixed Martial Arts sparingly, the answer is fairly simple. It's the same reason why no one watches college wrestling when it is on tv, about 90% of the time it is two sweaty dudes laying on each other.
Since his fight against taylor has he fought anyone becuase i havent really heard bout him too much?
His last fight was three months ago - the rematch with Taylor. He is actually turning around and fighting pretty quickly
yeah pavlik fought a lot of bums and got dropped thats why i still doubt his chin
still pavlik is the best thing that happened to the middleweight division finally a true warrior champion
taylor was disgracing that division
I don't see how your are still questioning his chin. He was taking clean repeated right hands from Miranda (the same right that blew David Bank's jaw off the tracks) and he wasn't even phased. The only time he went down was when the best middleweight in the world at the time landed about 6 or 7 clean shots to the jaw, and he still got up. Not many fighters could have gotten up from that and very few could come back to deliver a KO. Even if you fight all bums on the way up, if you beat one tough fighter (Zertuche) and the #1 contender (Miranda) and the unified champ in your weight class (Taylor), don't you have to kind of look at those fights to judge his skills and throw out the fact that he faced some bums like everyone else on the way up.
He probably gots bothered constantly by his fans, you're lucky you even got a picture with him. His wife knows your a fan and shes nice, but he is probably also nice but you have to put yourself in his shoes. He probably gets mobbed on a daily basis with fans such as yourself no offense. And I'm sure you might have met a boxer before who was more pleasent but cotto could have been having a bad day. Just because he makes millions of dollars doesn't mean he can't have a bad day.
How many people besides avid boxing fans could pick Miguel Cotto out of a line up? Probably none. Its not like the world is over ran with crazed fans of boxing like everyone on this forum. I currently live in Los Angeles and i see people have trouble picking out the most well known celebs in the world when in public. Maybe in Puerto Rico he is mobbed by fans, but in America I find it hard to believe that 90% of the people could pick him out in street clothes or even give a shit. We pay his bills and he beats the shit out of people for a living - the guy should take the picture with any fan.
Nice hockey photos - you probably wish you lived in Detroit so you had a good team.
Your right. I should have said "would have" demolished him or "was going". I have to admit he didn't really hit him with anything clean that would have caused stoppage, Manfredo just didn't throw back. The lacy fight could have potentially gone either way, but it didn't so I said a loss to Lacy - which is true.
C'mon mang Slap my self? I agree that it was a horrible stoppage in the Clazaghe fight, but its not like he had a remote chance. I don't think he landed a punch on Clazaghe in three rounds and if it wasn't stopped then, it would have been in the very near future. And I find it hard to argue the Lacy loss like I'm sure you do, because I had the same score as on of the judges and all three of them had Lacy winning - it wasn't even a split decision. If your going to write a post like that why don't you follow it up with something else so you can let us all know your IQ is above a 20.
Pavlik's chin is too good and he hits too hard to lose to this guy. After watching him take three consecutive shots of Miranda's best right hand (the same one that blew David Banks jaw of the hinges) and not even be phased, you know he isn't getting ko'd by Mundine. The only time he was hurt in his career was when on of the best middleweights in the world landed about seven wide open blows right to the chin and he still got up. I haven't seen much of Mundine (his next fight is Sam Solomon - that's a joke) but i have seen quite a bit of Pavlik, enough to know that this guy will not be the one to put a blemish on his record.
Duddy. Easily. Though Ward was a very skilled fighter.
Irish Hammer what is your take on Andy Lee? All the fights accept Vera, he was pretty explosive. I do some work for Emanuel's Stewards daughter and got to have lunch with him the other day. We starting talking about Lee and he kept telling me that he was sick that night. I wouldn't be surprised to hear this from any trainer when his fighter lost, but he was pretty adamant about it and he is a all around honest and genuine guy. After watching as many of Andy's fights as I could, I did notice that he was very slow, flat footed, and lethargic in that fight. Something that did not show up in any of the other. Emanuel also told me Vera won't sign a rematch, probably smart on his part though. What do you think about all that, since your obviously into the Irish fighters?
I agree, I could do with out the anthems. These fighters spend 45 minutes breaking a sweat to get warmed up backstage. Then they each take fifteen minutes to get to the to the cold ring and listen to all the announcements and the two horribly long national anthems (how bad was tom jones? look like he was already dead and embalmed). By the 30 - 45 minute circus it is all said and done their sweat is gone and they are cold and stiff. Makes no sense to me.
Marciano didn't pick up gloves until he was 24. He was trying to be a professional baseball player before that, a catcher I believe. But the war ended that dream and led to another. He picked up boxing while in the service, realized he could make some dough knockin' people's faces off so he went for it.
Yeah I can see where your coming from. But I just think him being down so many times can be attributed to the fact that he takes a lot of punches rather than a weak chin. His defense is more in question to me. Some of the shots he has taken who put most down and out. At least we can agree that Pavlik is something great for the division and boxing as a whole.
I don't know about that iron chin you were talking about, but Wlad should dominate Haye. Ibrigamov looked like an ass kicker before he got in there with Wlad and whether or not it was a boring fight, he didn't let him land one punch. Too big and too skilled for Haye. I can't wait to see him staring up at the weigh in. Although I do have to say if somehow Haye managed to catch him with a right and knock him out, it would be nice to see something exciting like that in the division
I'm not surprised. Anytime I have ever seen anyone try to shake his hand or show respect in the ring he just brushes them off. Although his personality may have something to with where he is at today
Haye isn't the only fighter that has ever been hyped up but Haye gets the most stick, all because he called out the best in the HW division.
A unified champion in under 22 fights doesn't deserved to called ''Hyped'' IMO, especially when he was written off completely after his lost to Thompson.
He just wants to fight the best. What's the problem?
I have no problem with him. I already stated that. I would like to see him beat Klitschko, it will put some interest back in the division. Im with you on Hayes man, I actually like him - I just think everyone has watched one fight and they are ready to anoint him as the savior of the division. Which he could become, maybe, but not yet.
make a account at photobucket.com its free and then upload all the pictures u want. then u can get the html code from them. just copy and paste the html code into your signature. easy dude
Alright thanks man. Just didn't know if there was a quicker way around it. Will do. At risk of sounding like a novice in this, which i am. If I wanted to give someone rep points for helpin me out, how do i go about doin that?
Lacy got destroyed by Clazaghe and almost lost to Manfredo of all people. Pavlik is a very similar fighter in terms of work rate and pressure to Joe (but with more power), I don't see how anyone would think that Pavlik wouldn't do the same thing to Lacy as Calzaghe did to him.
He didnt look sick at all to me. Was the same explosive Lee in the early rounds, its just Veras pressure and workrate broke Lee down.
Lets be honest, outside of that Straight left hand, Lee can't do much. He has flashed a great right hand every now and again, but he has proved they were only flashes.
Lots of heart though, and very entertaining. I cant believe people were picking this guy to beat Pavlik before that fight. what a laugh
No way he could even touch Pavlik. They hyped him up way to early. I think he could have beaten Vera, he just has never been hurt before and didn't know how to react. Good points though man.
Haye is far quicker and bigger then Ibrigamov, so i don't see your point.
Is there a HW out there who is quicker then Haye?
Speed is priceless, especially when your fighting in a division full of statues.
I agree with you on that he is quicker. And he will be fighting a bunch of slow moving mud men, but I just don't think he is deserving of all the hype and I don't think he will be Wlad. As I said I would like to see it happen though
Jeff would push the fight to Kelly, not the other way round.
If Jeff Lacy throws his combinations to the body and back up to the head he will out slug Kelly.
Jeff can be beaten by boxers with good upper body movement and footwork, Kelly doesn't posses either.
Do you forget that Pavlik's work rate is pretty much unmatched in the middleweight division. He was averages an insane rate of punches a round (all though it doesn't always seem like it) I don't how you can say Lacy would smother him, when that is all Kelly does to any fighter he faces. And I don't think Calzaghe would walk through Pavlik. Pavlik has a great pace and work-rate, although not as good as Joe's, he actually packs something behind his punches.
Pavlik is flat footed, Calzaghe was not.
Pavlik WILL take BIG shots off Lacy is they were to fight. None of Pavlik's opponents have come at him and pressured him from the off.
I agree hat Calzaghe is much more athletic than Kelly, but it is very hard for a fighter to pressure some right off the bat when the opponent they are facing has great knock out power and jumps on you right away as Pavlik does. You are correct though Pavlik does take shots. But I am not quite sure why everyone questions Pavlik's chin so much as well. He sustained repeated clean right hands from Miranda (same one that blew Bank's face off) and wasn't even phased by it. We forget that when he was put down by Taylor, he was considered the undisputed and best middleweight in the world. He landed about 7 wide open blows to Pavlik's jaw. 90 % of fighters would have been asleep after that. He got up and won the fight.
lol u know what? i really dont know the answer to that question, i would like to know 2. if i find out, i'd be glad to give u sum rep points man
Haha alright sounds good
The most complete fighter
I am pretty surprised that this question is being asked. He has the best defense we have seen in years (possibly ever), insane speed, lands punches from every distant and angle, and he keeps his eyes open and on his opponent at all times. I really don't even like the guy that much, but it is hard to argue against the fact that he is the most complete fighter out there. I can however knock on him for the De La Hoya rematch. For him to be have a shot at top 10 greatness he needs to beat Cotto and maybe someone else.

Yes. Both Miranda and Abraham is showing pumpkin-sized balls for signing this fight. Miranda turned down Mikkel Kessler for the WBA title and Abraham is jeopardizing a huge fight against Pavlik later this year. This fight is an old-fashioned western gunfight where there just seems to be some unfinished business.
And yes. IMO two outcomes seems possible. AA by KO or Miranda on points. No way Abraham is gonna get KTFO.
The odds at 3-1 is not right. I might put some dough on Pantera. This is a true pick-em fight!
It was Kessler who turned down the fight with Miranda. Miranda wanted Kessler all the way. Mikkel made outrageous demands and they met every one and he still backed out
