I remeber back before Pavlik beat Miranda. He was like 28-0, alot of KO's...all against bums. Ya, Tye has been KO'd in one round by a bum, at least Tye avenged the lost with a 1 round KO. Im not saying Tye is on Kellys level or Tye is gonna become a world champ. All im saying is I once thought Taylor would KO Kelly in under 2 rounds before 2007 after looking at the people Kelly fought. Boy, was I wrong.............
I always thought he was a very good fighter. He was racking up a lot of KOs against faded guys like Bronco McKart, but the way he was doing it was impressive. He kept his distance very well and could drop a counter hook like it was nobody's business. I never thought he was like Matt Vanda.
Since his fight against taylor has he fought anyone becuase i havent really heard bout him too much?
His last fight was three months ago - the rematch with Taylor. He is actually turning around and fighting pretty quickly
Yeah I can see where your coming from. But I just think him being down so many times can be attributed to the fact that he takes a lot of punches rather than a weak chin. His defense is more in question to me. Some of the shots he has taken who put most down and out. At least we can agree that Pavlik is something great for the division and boxing as a whole.
yeah pavlik fought a lot of bums and got dropped thats why i still doubt his chin
still pavlik is the best thing that happened to the middleweight division finally a true warrior champion
taylor was disgracing that division
I don't see how your are still questioning his chin. He was taking clean repeated right hands from Miranda (the same right that blew David Bank's jaw off the tracks) and he wasn't even phased. The only time he went down was when the best middleweight in the world at the time landed about 6 or 7 clean shots to the jaw, and he still got up. Not many fighters could have gotten up from that and very few could come back to deliver a KO. Even if you fight all bums on the way up, if you beat one tough fighter (Zertuche) and the #1 contender (Miranda) and the unified champ in your weight class (Taylor), don't you have to kind of look at those fights to judge his skills and throw out the fact that he faced some bums like everyone else on the way up.
Tye is one of a fuckin kind.
You need to watch your mouth. Disrespecting Tye is not wise.
Tye Fields urinates devastation. Put your god damn mouth guard in.

By fighting all the best opposition?

Yes, I love his style!
You mean to tell me Tye Fields has anything near the talent that Pavlik had then? If you actually watched some of his fights without looking at the record.
No, i never said that.
Before 2007, everyone Kelly fought was a bum.

No, he was never anywhere near Tye Fields. Pavlik always had the skill behind the power and workrate. It's not always about opposition, and Zuniga and McKart arent bums.
