that he fights cripple gimps and has the middleweight belt hostage from the real middleweight division, lol, lolhe was once good though, now he beats up on bums like delwin rodriguez and fights cripples but loses to bum trout aswell, lol, :pat:
How the hell is Austin Trout a bum? You throw around that "bum" word too casualy, makes you lose credibility man. You sound like a child
Does anybody remember how Joshua Clottey was in debate as one of the best Welterweights in the division when Cotto beat him? Clottey is definitely Cotto's best win ever.
First off let me say: I have a very, very tough time envisioning this fight as an exciting, camera-friendly type of affair. Both fighters are known as counterpunchers. It will most likely have to be Barrera who steps out of his comfort zone as the aggressor, but even though he is a big, BIG light-heavyweight, he is also a pretty slow and easy target for a guy as skilled as Andre Ward. Ward will most likely pot shot and pick Barrera apart as he comes in. I'll give Barrera credit for having a heavy, consistent jab. He'll need it to pressure Ward. In all likelihood this will be an ugly decision win for Andre Ward.
It was a nice gesture, but let's not pretend that Haye really gives a sh1t, it's a PR exercise for him.
Haye is currently rebranding himself as the good guy of British boxing, presumably to combat Tyson Fury who markets himself as the villian, and to emulate the Anthony Joshua "humble bro" model.
Haye cares about his check, he doesn't give a crap about boxing or its participants.
This is what Haye really thinks of his fellow fighters.
i mean he spent the first era of his career being a ****y douche and it backfired big time when he basically fought to survive in the Klitschko fight. I'd rather see him being humble than signing a check his ass can't cash, like he used to do.
lets see he beat ATG Hopkins and ATG Jones, and RUINED LACY CAREER
so I have him slightly above Hopkins and Jones and ahead of ward in the grand scheme of things today.
Lol..... Nice bait.
Anyways, his best win was over a prime Kessler. Followed by beating the older version of B-Hop. The Roy Jones fight was a sham and should never have been made.
James Toney is as real a hitta as it gets but let's not go crazy. Joe would've flatlined his ass within 6.
A) Calzaghe was known to slap with his punches. He was never a KO puncher.
B) James Toney has quite arguable a top 5 all time chin
C) Idk if u just never watched either guy or if you're trolling
Heh, it's funny how myths grow over time. Ward/Kessler and Froch/Ward are perceived very different from reality.
Ward was a slight underdog (~1:2) against Kessler, and won after several headbutts, the last of which caused the stoppage of the fight. He still gives Ward no credit for the fight.
Against Froch, Ward was an overwhelming favorite (at -400 or -500) and won in the same manner.
But yeah, my vote goes to Hopkins/Pavlik.
After everything you said, you give your vote to Hopkins/Pavlik? That fight was seen as possibly career ending for B-Hop...
1) Calzaghe has a near 70% KO ratio, hardly a soft puncher.
2) Hopkins was still P4P top 3 when JC beat him. Feel free to go back and check the lists and this forum if you weren't old enough to watch it at the time.
3) Same with Lacy, he was the betting favourite and most people (boxing fans not just casuals) thought he was going to do JC over. Instead he got the sh1t beaten out of him for every minute of the fight, was destroyed as a fighter and never the same again. It's easy to say with hindsight that Lacy was never any good.
Lol @ "old enough"... I've been on this forum before that fight was even in the conversation pal. Let alone watching boxing.
Joe never KO'd anybody with a real resume in his entire career. He pummeled them with speed and volume but never stopped a single name fighter that he faced.
I was never on the Lacy hype train. & the B-Hop win was good but it's undeniable that it came near his (extremely delayed) decline... I still maintain that the win over Kessler was his career best. I don't know why people speak on the Jeff Lacy win so much instead of the decision over Kessler.
Look at this guy, acting like he's back, posting on back to back days and sh*t. You're not fooling anyone K-Nan, we know you will leave tomorrow for another 5 years.
hahahaha nah I'm for good!! :boxing:
In all seriousness though, Abraham's peak takes me back to when 160-168 was so exciting. I mean even Pantera Miranda was knocking people tf out... Contenders were everywhere and it felt like just about everything (except maybe a Calzaghe fight) was a pick em kinda deal. I hope those divisions come back strong
A worthless platitude. Plenty of punchers learnt to be punchers by altering their training and changing their style, Tommy Hearns being the obvious one.
Unless you have the bones of a small bird or the musculature of an anorexic girl you can be trained to punch hard. Might not be in your best interests, given your style and other factors, but it can be done.
Bradley's lack of punching power is entirely down to his technique.
Tommy Hearns was not a natural puncher?
Remind me to ignore your posts from now on.
As they say, power is the last thing to fade. It's impossible to judge how real his comeback is against these opponents, but he definitely looks in shape and still hits hard as hell. He'll be a "high risk, low reward" kind of guy against most of the top heavyweights.
