How? Why? Are you suggesting that Barrera is a better boxer than either of them? That's pretty stupid, I was rooting for Sullivan during the fight, but the man was out of his depth, he is basically a prospect. There really is no comparison. Ward would get absolutely mauled against Kovalev. I hope you're just trolling, lol.
Lol I was just trying to get a rise out of ya.
In do think however ward will be able to deal with kovalev's power. Ward will not get pasqualed.
Not saying he can't get ktfo but I think it won't b a wash. Ward v kovalev's will be an excellent fight.
Ward out boxes ggg with not much affair methinks.
Maidana said he will be back this fall!!! There have been several threads on it.
Vamos Chino!!!! :headbang:what I don't understand is, why the ref got in the middle after the punch?
dunno. they would likely miss more....:boxing:

Holy crap. I know that Barrera landed only 15% of his punches.. but damn, Ward got tagged pretty damn good with that jab.
I was at the fight and pretty close up. Barrera looked a lot bigger than ward. THink how cotto looked against canelo almost. I'm sure those punches were felt by ward.
Every time i see that right hand landed on Floyd's mouth i have a terrible hard on..... Come back soon chino... hard to stay awake with fighters like ward

Draymond Green, Curry, and Frank the Tank Gore. Don't recognize them other cats, the guy in the beany looks like a Wu-Tang stunt double, and the guy in the lower right corner looks like zab judah with an eating disorder.
White tee=Michael B. Jordan..... He was the leading role in the Rocky flim 'Creed'
Green hoodie=Marshawn Lynch (retired running back for the seahawks)
Guy in the hat=Sway(he is a DJ and has his own morning show on Sirus XM)
I don't know the rest of them guys though.

Amazing to see a LHW moving like that. B-Hop got a lot of credit (perhaps too much) for what eventually became a smash and grab style. This is on another level entirely. There's a depth to the number of options he has/uses. People are calling it rusty but if you think that's rusty, you must have been expecting absolute perfection.
I expected a lot more of the right hand against Barrera. He hardly threw it. That's a big reason why his offense looked so off. He has always been left hand happy, but here he seemed especially so.
I believe I saw someone here state he may have said something about hurting the right in between rounds. I didn't pick up on it.
He's usually a lot more effective in countering his opponents jab by slipping and throwing his own jab or countering with the right hand over the top. Or sometimes he'll get under the jab, get inside and work. We didn't see a lot of that from Ward Saturday night. That's why I say his timing was a little off and he showed some rust. I expect him to be a lot more sharper if he can stay more active.

Naturally the extra weight will slow him down and Barreras inactivity gave him limited chances to counter - you can only work with what you are given as a counter puncher. Obviously you dont forget what you learned at this stage but your timing/reflexes are not going to be the same as you age - however despite the perhaps lack of quickness he appears to be gaining punching power so we may not see that level of skill from 168 but he might start handing ass whoopins now.

It isn't an unnecessary wait. The fight is supposed to happen in November. Kovalev's side has made it very clear they are fighting someone else in June, not Ward. This has been the plan for months, and now that Ward has pretty much confirmed this plan, why are you and so many others acting like we haven't known this all along?
I don't get it either... some of the most retarded posters ever.
We've known since LAST YEAR that the fight was scheduled for November 2016 but they want to start complaining now, Kovalev is fighting someone else in June also so why is it a problem at all if Ward also fights someone different in the mean time.
It's beyond beating a dead horse with these guys. My only reasoning is they know another fight for Ward gives him more chances of being fully back to his best.
