I mean, I can guarantee nobody on this site knows what it feels like to go 12 rounds and take an enormous amount of punishment.
I for one would've taken the knee. Why am I going to risk any further injuries to prove to people you got heart? The 1st 11 rounds of that fight IMO were enough for any Pro fighter to prove he had heart.
But hey, that's why Boxers fight and Message Board kids poke fun.
This is all that needs to be said. Anyone claiming to more of a man than Cotto should get off his computer and get rich proving it.
As far as I can tell this is the biggest question mark coming into the fight.
Cotto hits harder than anybody Pac has ever fought before, and with his timing, Cotto is going to land. How Manny reacts to that is going to tell us a lot.
LOL @ some of you...Berto is a PROFESSIONAL fighter...Chad is a primadona wideout...he would coma chad
For real. People dont seem to understand how many levels there really are between a high level pro fighter and other people. Hell, even a mid level Welter would kick the shit out of your average football player.
He may and he may not. The big liability Taylor has here is that he slows down late in the fight, I believe a lot of people are banking on Abraham to take advantage of that and take him out late. While Taylor is not exactly fragile, he has been knocked out before.
It depends though, if Taylor is taking his career and his legacy seriously he should have these thoughts going into training camp. He will definitely build an early lead on the scorecard, he has to find a way to cross the finish line.
I hope it's true, might be too late regardless though
My thoughts exactly. If the man had taken training seriously a few years ago he could have been a significant force in the elite HW title picture. Toney vs Klitchcko is a fight that should have happened at some point, its really a shame.
Why is it ok for big ass Cotto to fight Pac, but its not ok for Floyd who isnt that much bigger than Marquez?? I dont get it..
Yeah, its funny how heavily favored Manny is to beat Cotto, but JMM somehow doesnt stand a chance against Mayweather.
Meh, both are awesome fights, and anyone can win in either bout. No mismatches here.
Juan Diaz is the favorite for good reason, but all of this shit has me rooting for Paulie. Dont get me wrong, I love Juan, but Id just like to see Paulie buck the system here.
These fools can't crack an egg... I'll be watching, but damn, these boys need to start eating some red meat or somthing... maybe stop plucking their eyebrows... Shit...
Yeah, cause red meat will make a man out of you...:thumbsdow
Boxing has a lot more to it than punching power, thats why Diaz and Paulie are going to fighting on TV.
Calzaghe by miles.
People fail to realize Lacy injured himself badly in his first fight back from the Calzaghe loss. I am not saying Calzaghe didnt damage his confidence or mentality, but Lacy hasnt been nearly the same fighter since that injury. I know losses mess with people, but Lacy has an injured shoulder that has clearly made him a different fighter. If he hadnt been hurt he might not have headed to bumsville as quickly as he did.
So yeah, Joe gets the most credit there.
Malnourished and still KOing men for a lineal title? That makes him more great you buffon.
LOL you called me a buffon.
Yeah KOing other malnourished third world people adds some intrigue to his story. But as a grown, fed man, Pacquiao never would have been near 108.
Its like when talking about RJJ or Toney being good fighters from MW to HW: they were actually grown men fighting at MW. Pac was a Malnourished teenager, thats all I am saying.
I think its very overrated.
As an adult, Manny has never less than a SBW. His scale climbing is still extremely impressive. The whole 108 arguement is like talking about a little kid being a former Stawweight champion going all the way up to HW.
When PBF was 108-112 he's losing to an Amateur Martin Castillo & 5 other amateurs.
Pac lost 2 fights at 112 but that was against Professional much older than him. But He has a KO win over the Lineal 112 Champion at 19. Floyd still losing fights when he was 19 against amateurs.
Yeah, but Pac was still a malnourished teenager.
marquez ruined diaz
Thats an awfully big assumption.
I like both fighters, and both of them are at a very tough point in their careers. A loss here for either guy is going to be very difficult to work back from.
That said, I dont think Paulie can keep Juan off of him. Juan wins a UD, staying in Paulie's chest and landing throwing leather all night.
We'll see how well he can do against Daniel. Is Sergio a southpaw?
Yeah, Santos and Sergio are both southpaws, and two of the most highly skilled fighters in the division.
I will go out on a limb and say Andre Ward, he is calling out all the big boys this year, I think he has the talent to pull off some huge wins.
Also I think its funny nobody voted for Mares, that kid has some serious talent.
Aside from those two Angulo will have a very big year.
Just watched two great films back to back this morning. The first is one of my all time favorites made in 1974, called Pelham 123 (which is being remade) about a train heist. In the movie, the robbers ask for a ransom of a whopping, stagger, 1 million dollars.
Even better, i watched Dirty Harry afterwards (Great movie but really overrated obviously) and the serial killer asks for a ridiculous, insane, catostrophic, $100,000 dollars.
Mayweather might have... what? 30 million left? Keep in mind all the money he spent on stupid shit like jewelry and gambling. Well imagine what thats gonna be worth in 30 or 40 years. He better make some more and invest that shit or he'll be broooooooooooooooooooooooke soon enough
The jewelry is actually a solid investment. It retains its real value while the value of dollars drops due to inflation.
He's not as stupid as you guys think.
A hell of a lot of his money is invested in businesses and properties.
Before you go on about how properties arent worth anything now. When the market picks up again there will be his cash.
Yeah, as long as he has millions invested in things like precious metals, real estate etc. he should be fine. Depends though, he likes to spend it pretty fast.
Philips (especially with Danny Smith and Greg Leon) in his corner runs through Kirkland and Angulo....the only 154 lber i see giving him trouble is Ishe Smith....he beat everybody else.
5 years ago sure, but right now? Hes old, bro, old shopworn and has always had problems with endurance. Kirkland has some defensive liabilities, but the kid is a monster and cracks like hell. And Angulo? Big, strong, hard chinned, heavy handed, crazy output and never taking a backward step Alfredo Angulo? I hope he gets one of these fights Id love to make a bet with you.
based on what, what fights make him look like a developing ighter, hes pretty much ready from all the fights ive seen, or you think in 3 years from now, he deserves a shot at ricky
You cant tell if the guys hasnt been in there with anyone decent. I feel what you mean about he is ready to try, but you dont go straight to the Ricky Hattons, you have to pull at least one or two elite level wins to start talking like that.
Its like Bradley, Bradley went to Junior Witter's home turf and took his belt. Now he can start looking at all the elites. Thats what Ortiz has to do.
Yeah Judah would probably take it via not being completely and utterly shot like Castillo. Judah is still pretty close to done himself, though. Dont see a real point in this fight unless its to keep one of their names alive for a younger fighter to take advantage of, both guys are done at the elite level.
Charlie, bro, you really outta learn to shit talk a little less. Focus on being about it, not talking about it. Talk is cheap, action is priceless. You wanna prove haters wrong? Hard work, dedication. Thats it, man. Youtube videos dont prove shit.
Real talk, brother.
I dunno, but the first thing that came to mind was, imagine those who've lost, or worse, get knocked out by a gay ngga.
Take a trip to Long Beach during the Pride festival, you will literally meet hundreds of gay dudes that would knock you head off.:dunno:
First off Hopkins is 44 years old, and an ATG fighter with an amazing resume and legacy. At his age he has every right to retire and never take another fight. Hell its been that way for years now.
Second, get over it people Bernard Hopkins is NOT afraid of anyone. And I dont say that as a fan boy, think about who BHop really is.
