Obviously, Pacquiao's not gonna just sit there to be hit, but nobody can deny the impact on Cotto's punches that night.
Can and will Pacquiao be able to withstand that type of punishment through 12 rounds?

Hard to believe he could when hes been shaken so many times by smaller fighters with signifigantly less punch power than Cotto. Such as JMM,EM. But hitting Paq wont be anywhere near as easy as it is to hit Marg.
Of course not. Not many people that night could have. A man in the best condition of his life landing nearly at will on an open target, landing flush power shots and nothing to break him? That's just sickening. On the other hand, no way will Manny allow those shots in and if anything, Manny is going to try to get Cotto's respect early on so he can think twice about throwing punches like that. It's gonna be a war because both men want the upperhand. Pacquiao doesn't like it if he's not dominating his opponent and Cotto won't step down from the "smaller" guy.
No question Cotto has an advantage on upper body strength and fought and beat bigger fighters while Pacquiao has better boxing skills, decent power and speed.
However, there are intangible attributes that pacquiao has an advantage with Cotto, that is the mental power and heart to fight back intelligently if confronted with unexpected odds that favors the opponent. True, but against fighters who are not WELTERWEIGHTS. when are people going to realize that Pacman will be fighting a good welterweight.....WELTERWEIGHT. Yes, manny is fast but i notice when he is throwing all those punches he is very open and against cotto that is a hugh mistake. I connection by cotto and manny will think he is in manila. Remember barrera, morales and marquez DO NOT have cotto's power or jab.

No. Yo Rav, was this a serious question homey?

who knows really for certain?
i think he can only mix it up with cotto only on spurts...
if MP decides to mix it up with cotto the whole fight like penalosa did against lopez, he is kissing the canvas...

It's a figure of speech, check into it.
Trust me, I am a huge Cotto fan, but I cannot for the life of me come up with a way he can win this. He had a TON of problems with Mosley, basically ran the whole last 4 or 5 rounds if I remember correctly.
That just shows you, he cannot fight a fight like that for 12 rounds.
How did Cotto have a ton of problems with Mosley? He was outpointing Mosley and between 6-8th round Mosley was the one back peddling while Cotto kept his jab in Mosley's face.
Even when Mosley became the chaser, Cotto still outpointed him landing straight lead lefts making Shane give the "SMH" nod.
Great fight, but Cotto didn't have TONS of problems.
Weight Drain Oscar, or no defense ill lead with my face hatton?
if you are comparing the 2 to Cotto, then you are dumb as fukk!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not comparing Cotto to them. If I did that then I would have mentioned similarities.
I just said, go tell Oscar and Hatton what you said. I think they would tell you otherwise.

A lot of the punches that Cotto landed on Margarito were when he was going backwards. I'm not saying it doesn't hurt, just saying it would hurt more if he landed punches while going forward

People need to realize that Mosley, clottey and margarito are WELTERWEIGHTS ! Pacquiao, marquez, barrera, morales are not !
No of course not but Pacquiao will never be hit like that by Cotto, thats rediculous. People need to stop making it seen like Pacquiao is flash gordan and noone can hit him. Morales 1 and both marquez show that pacquiao gets hit, but without POWER. Can i get a co-sign??
Hell No, but Baldomir could land against Margarito. It will be almost two years since Pac had a tough fight when he steps into that ring with Cotto. I guarantee you on Nov. 14 Pac will be in the toughest fight of his life. I don't know I can say the same for Cotto.
ALL of Cotto's fights are the toughest of his life it seems. He barely beat Mosley, lost to Margacheato, and barely beat Clottey.

so pac will land 3000 punches? is that your prediction?

yeah, but who's to says that pac could continue that pace through 8-12 rounds against someone bigger than him?
pac HATES the jab, and cotto has a good one in both stances. this fight will be pretty even in you ask me, which is pretty darn good. i already have hotel reservations for that weekend :D
lol, I have no arguement against that. If Pacquiao takes a body shot, i'm not sure if he will stay alive. Cotto would have to get through the barrage of punches first though. Which is hard to see Cotto getting through.
It is pretty even. I just never been a Cotto fan, so naturally I would go for Pacquiao. :dunno:

No he can't. But it will be a different type of fight I think.
Yea Pac throws that, manny right?
Let see how manny he will throw when he gets hit and timed by Cottos jab and lefthook.
to throw 100+ punches you will have to leave your self open, Manny starts throwing 100+ punches from the get go and he dont see round 5!!!!
lmao. Go tell that to Oscar and Hatton. I'm sure they would beg to differ.
