You are on fire at the moment, keep it up man. Don't let the Diaz fan boys get to you. I doubt it will happen since you know what you are talking about.
I think this forum really has a problem with Gamboa, I suppose in a way it is warranted. Gamboa goes down too often and lacks proper defense to be considered elite, but he hasn't been hurt and has a solid offensive skill set.
As far as Prescott goes, I guess we will have to wait and see with him. He is a little too hot and cold for my taste.
All of the early posters put it very well. The fact that Campbell already gave him a beating, is with king, and isn't the ring champion are all pretty much main reasons.
I have to agree with the OP about the lack of heart. History proves the theory of Diaz only fighting old men.
This shows that Campbell has his eyes on the prize and has a sound team around him. Smart choice and I hope to see him as the king of the division by years end.
Hatton has proved himself a game champ and has cemented a HOF birth. I don't think he has necessarily done enough to be considered an all time great.
I do feel that if he performs to this best of his abilities he can handle Manny. Still with that said, I don't see him pulling it off. I think he will give Manny fits with his toughness and maybe landing of an occasional shot or two.
I don't see him going broke any time soon. He may be brash and arrogant, but the man is not an idiot. He has made some investments in property and what not as previously said.
I think he needs to fight again just for the sake of boxing. We need a big name like him to come back and fight the other big name in the game (Pac Man). Plus I just want to see Floyd kick his ass.
Juarez is a game opponent and needs a big one as the op said. He has losses on his record, but all are to legends. I changed my mind, Juarez wins by 9th round KO.
I wouldn't say it gives you immediate credibility as much as it gives you immediate name recognition. Obviously if you are fighting on and HBO card it means you have something going for you. However, I think it really depends on how you perform when given the opportunity to showcase your skills to a wide audience.
Yes you still have to be good but. I mean Chris John. He was already probably very good. But now that he's going to fight on HBO, people are going to act like he's way better than he was before he fought on HBO. When in reality nothing about him as a fighter has changed. I think there is a bit of an illusion that comes with fighting on HBO. If they started putting Brandeis Prescott on hbo cards, there would be a ton of people on the forums riding him. However when he completely smashes a monster prospect, he gets little to know real fan attention.
You have it right. It probably gives an automatic false credibility to some guys. People see fighters on the big stage and automatically assume them to be the best of the best. That is the problem, not enough stages to prove yourself in the sport.
This site has way too many haters. Show some respect, he is an entertaining guy and fighter, he is extremely talented and makes other guys look stupid. This thread is retarded.
Looks like Williams is in the right here. The money wasn't good enough for a fight with a champ. Williams seems to be getting dicked over left and right.
He is always interesting lol. What does he have like seven kids? I will never forget when he stuck his chin out for Peden. He was on his way to the win and just blew it. I love him lol.
Mayweather is the best boxer of this millennium. Let's just have the two fight and watch Floyd own Manny. Manny is great and yes he did beat a bigger Oscar, but Floyd is faster, stronger, and technically a more sound fighter.
A Mayweather vs Pac Man fight would have the same result as Mayweather Vs Hatton. Both beat an old DLH but Floyd is clearly better.
Why would Pavlik be afraid of the overrated Williams?
Williams hasn't beaten anybody with a pulse at 154 or 160. Williams is nothing special, he can only be successful picking on smaller fighters at 147. He has a huge height (6'3) and reach (82") advantage over all the small men he faces at 147/154. He has longer reach than the Klitschko brothers (Wlad 81", Vitali 80"). Paul "the coward" Williams should move up and pick on someone his own size.
Pavlik would KO Williams for sure
So you are calling Williams the welterweight version of Pavlik? He wants to fight Pavlik and would beat on girls name for 12 rounds.
A prime Tyson can beat anyone in the history of the sport, period. Too powerful and fast for anyone to handle. Losing to prime Tyson is nothing to be ashamed of.
Haha I love reading heavy opinion threads as a new poster. Gives me a feel for how things are here. I love it.
To the point, Hatton is definitely at the end of his rope as an elite fighter. I still think he can go out there and give Manny a fight though. I do believe Manny will pull out a win against Ricky, but Ricky is going to give Manny problems with some solid combos and his general toughness.
Open scoring seems like a good idea until you think about it. The previous poster said it well about the fighter who is winning just turning the fight into a snooze fest.
If they don't know the scores, then they really can't stop giving their best effort and have to keep the fight interesting.
I think Berto won rounds 6 and 7 which gave him the fight in my eyes. However, I can easily see it going in Collazo's favor what with the knock downs and the point deduction for holding and all.
I just feel Berto did enough in the later rounds to squeak out a decision. If Collazo had gotten the decision though I would not have complained.
I definitely agree with the OP. He did what he had to do to keep it a boxing match and not a wrestling match. Although Collazo was holding as well, I agree with the Berto point deduction.
He is pretty sharp he even caught Collazo trying to lure Berto into holding. A true pro effort by Hughes.
