From Michael Marley's site:
"There’s nothing wrong with WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch’s flapping jaws.
The lad from Nottingham seems to exercise those even in his sleep. But his ribs are hurting for certain and now he won’t be fighting again until June.
The WBC has a purse bid for Froch to make a defense against top contender and former middleweight king Jermain Taylor.
Taylor was rebuffed by HBO and now Lou DiBella is angling to make a multi-bout deal with rival Showtime.
The question arises, will Taylor sit idle for six months waiting on Froch? Knowing how DiBella tarvels, one would surmise he has "alternate routes" mapped out.
Froch suffered the bruised ribs in his title bout victory over Jean Pascal.
Nottingham was, of course, said to be the home of the legendary Robin Hood. That's where the Hood made Marion and hung out with Little John.
jeez im really eggin to see Kessler, Taylor, Froch etc all back in the ring soon
hopefully Froch-Taylor goes off ... and the winner fights Kessler
then maybe the winner of ^ can go on to face Dawson sometime down the line.
But not until June though, fit for fight in April ! :

Froch is back in training
NEW WBC super-middleweight champion Carl Froch is already back in training.
"I've had a couple of weeks off," said Froch, who will not fight before April because of his rib injury.
"It's been a bit hectic since I won the title and I can't go anywhere in Nottingham without being recognised.
"I've not done much because I have been tied up with appearances and bits and pieces with the press, but I've enjoyed it.
"I want to defend my title and then unify the division. I'm just waiting for news on who will be next.
"But the hard work starts now and I've already started running again."
The mandatory challenger for The Cobra is American Jermain Taylor. HBO aren't thought to be keen but could change their mind now that Froch's thrilling fight with Jean Pascal – the super-middleweight fight of the year – was shown twice on Fox Sports over Christmas.
The Nottingham boxer has also been linked with fights against Joe Calzaghe victim Mikkel Kessler and WBC and WBO middleweight king Kelly Pavlik.
But Pavlik is scheduled to defend against Marco Antonio Rubio in New York on February 21 before taking his pick from Arthur Abraham, Ricky Hatton and Floyd Mayweather jnr.
WBO champion Denis Inkin, who beat Froch as an amateur, defends his title against little known, unbeaten Hungarian Karoly Balzsay in Germany on January 10.
Meanwhile, Australia-based Anthony Mundine is out against Shannon Taylor in Wollongong on February 11. After that he is set for a big rematch with Danny Green.
Mundine, 33, has a 37-34(23)-3 record. His three defeats were against Kessler, Sven Ottke and Manny Siaca.
The IBO champ is Sakio Bika, who is The Contender champion.
IBF champ Lucian Bute has agreed to defend against 35-year-old Mads Larsen.
But Larsen is apparently holding out for more money and Vitaly Tsypko, due to fight an eliminator with Librade Andrade, could step in.
any injury involving the ribs is nasty, not much to do other than wait and going for x rays, but he should still be able to keep fit, but sparring is out of question
Someone close to the Froch camp has posted on his website that this rumor being spread by Marley is false, that Carl was running and hitting the bag just last week. Everything I've heard from his people has indicated he would be ready to return in April.
So hopefully this is just a rumor, and until we see something more official that's how we should treat it.
boxing politics friend - i know its slightly sad that kess is the champ at the division yet is chasing taylor, because he is the bigger draw.
taylor is not a champ in the SMW division yet but there is no doubt that he is one bigger names and in the top 3 rankings of any SMW ranking.
That's right. Taylor calls the shots and he can basically pick and choose between any of the beltholders. I feel sorry for Froch as he seemed to have the inside track on Taylor.
Still Taylor can elect to go against a titlefight and fight another yank.

I know, but the only thing Taylor can give Kessler,is recognition in the US,nothing more,IMO if they fought,Kessler will KO Taylor
That can Taylor bought to the tabel???,he is not even a world-champ,Kessler is

this is turning into a b!tchin contest between daggum and lfcdynasty - ffs take it somehwere else.
taylors ppl wont want the fight with kess, not right now anyway. if kess bought all the major titles to the table (he should have the ring title) they may seem him as worth it but right now he falls into the high risk and low reward category.
i think taylor might well keep himself busy with ights against hopkins (i jst think he has hopkins no.), a fight against a man who beat pavlik and more importantly a win against him would show that he does still have it ro brush shoulders with the best.
if not i can see him taking a fight with someone like bika or manfredo.
shame really - imo froch and johnson are the only 2 fighters who are willing to give kess a shot because they are the only 2 who really want to prove themselves.

The rib injury originally came from sparring so fair enough for fighting with it. It's obviously had a negative impact now though.
Taylors in a less than ideal situation as well now with either waiting up for Froch, or facing Kessler and likely losing. That too, is of his own making though, he shoulda faced Froch when he could have before.

could be worse. i could be drooling over calzaghe's naked body like you. you're into skinny weak guys right?
Haha no1's more into Calzaghe than you mate ;)
Do you sit around drooling in your own filth when you post?

probably cause he doesn't know who kessler is. oh is that the guy who lost to calzaghe? pass.
I can tell you who Kessler are,he is number 1 SMW in the world, moron
and roy jones got knocked into a coma twice and calzaghe still fought him. i win. :usa:
Great response. :bs2:
Not even god knows what that has to do with this thread :dunno:
This is bad news for Taylor. Froch was the best option for him at this point.
Kessler is looking like more and more of an option, but a Froch fight would've helped Taylor get more ring time at 168 before taking on the Dane.
So what? Lacy got battered by Calzaghe but Taylor still fought him.
