Lol, and yet he wonders why Arum didn't make the fight. Williams is a joke, if he thinks he deserved more when he hadn't done nothing after the Margarito win but lose and go on a low tier fight streak. Williams avoided, thats the biggest joke around.
you stupid ass. bigpoppa owned your ass in this thread. sometimes i think you purposely make threads to get owned:wank:
How did he own him? All BPP clarified was that the Promoters are the ones holding up these fights and the boxers have nothing to do with it. I've said it once and I will say it again. When it comes to Championship calibar fighters none of them wanna duck each other and if Promoters could just be throw out of the equation I'm sure all these fights would have been made by now.
I'd be damn surprised if Paul has made anywhere close to 1.5 mil so far in his whole career. The Pavlik fight was win/win for him, and had he fought him before Hopkins, his stock would've went through the roof if he pulled it off.
In ferocity's world, no Mexican fighter has ever lost in the history of boxing.
Except if it's to another Mexican. Those who say otherwise are racist biased pricks.
And you clowns are now think Pac can beat Marg.
If you could read you'd read that it was 2.5 mil that Goosan wanted. Arum last offer was 1.5 mil.
All i hear from you pac nutthugers is pac, no one else, you got to have at least someone else you can talk about..........or maybe not.
That's far from what actually happened. Willaims wanted 2.5. Arum offered Williams 1.5, then lowered it to 1.2 and then went back up to 1.5. Williams only wanted 1.8, 300 more.
Pavlik's biggest payday was 3 million for the Hopkins fight. If they would have given Williams his 1.8, Pavlik would have made 3.8, the biggest payday of his career and it would have been on regular HBO. Rick wrote about it last year.

Well this expose this thread as a fraud then, I dont understand why SOME mexican/margarito fans have so much problems with williams.
The facts are against. If you don't like Williams than just admit it. But you can't get away from the actual truth.
1. Margarito fought Williams without Arum involved and Arum got paid.
2. HBO turned down Williams-Santos and Williams-Sergie, already stated. Winky Wright was one of the few opponents HBO would approve for Williams. I think you need do some research because Williams' gets HBO some of their highest rating numbers for his fights.
3. Arum, on the record at least 1000000 times, said that he will NEVER do business with Al Haymon, Williams' co-manager. Arum uses that as his reason for turning down 4 million for a Williams-Margarito rematch. The letter that Arum sent to Goossen turning the offer down was printed live and clear on Yahoo Sports.
Arum won't do business with Haymon for Margarito but he will for Clottey?
What happened to that Margarito-Clottey rematch from last November? Canceled because Margarito wanted more time to relax, his own words, and then signed for Mosley while Clottey sits until 2009. Margarito-Mosley is about money, just like every other fight and the reason Clottey is sitting is because he brings no money to Margarito or Williams. Williams draws better than Mosley in Calif and he's not a Cali fighter.
2. Y'all didn't post this. The last and only time I've heard about HBO turning down a fight in the recent past has been Taylor-Froch. You guys keeping info to yourselves....? Anyway, Williams is lucky HBO turned down the Santos fight, stylistically he'd be Paul's nightmare and Santos catching him with clean, blind, hard left hands is much worse than Quintana.
3. Arum had his mind made up from the week after Margarito stopped Cotto when he saw those ppv numbers that there was gonna be a rematch. Bottom line is: Arum can make more money in an all Top Rank rematch of Margarito-Cotto than 4 mil against P Will and he probably doesn't want to take as big a risk before it fighting him either.
Margarito clearly added (to the statement you're referring to) that he wanted to push it back to December being the earliest, but that no major network had a date left in the year.
paul williams seems like the realist dude in boxing.
no excuse for a loss
no bragging after a win.
How could any body not like him
and then complain about how they dont like the way floyd acts.
This Is code language for "If they are humble or cocky, I dont like black fighters"
Because there is no reason not 2 like paul williams, unless you a margarito fan because Margarito will not get his full until
he beats Paul Williams.
And in IMO , Margarito he cant beat Williams that is why he duck him
4 his biggest payday ever, 4 million dollars.
Margarito is a bad dude against smaller weltherweights.
but againts Williams, He has no size advantage, and he has to rely on skill, and skill is something he does not have alot of.
I think Magarito beats every WW, except Williams.
This dumb mother****in TS didn't even read the article. Williams never turned down 1.5 M. Goossen asked Arum to negotiate a sum above the initial offer (1.5) and then Arum never got back to him and they learned through the press that Hopkins-Pavlik was being made. The TS is a dumb **** and has no reading comprehension what so ever. Paul has some nice weaponry though, shit. .40 Glock and an AR-15??? Not bad.
Props to the big bad boottee daddy BPP for clarifying what he knows about the situation. I'm assuming here, but based on what I've seen BPP post, he respects Williams and sees the old school generation style in him. Paul will fight anybody, any place, anytime. Maybe he needs to sign with the monopoly GBP to get the real big fights, but if he gets Winky and beats him that should at least get him Abraham as well.
He's going up in weight because HBO turned down several other fights. They are not interested in Williams fighting the WBO champion, Forrest turned Williams down on the record and Santos brings no money. When Williams fought Margarito, the purse bid was $1,506,250,and Goossen still put in more. Margarito received 80%^
Chris Lighty, CEO of Violater Records and Winky Promotions, came on here and offered Margarito 1.5 dollars upfront to fight Winky. They never heard from Margarito again. There was a lot to the story that you are leaving out. I should know we followed it in 2006.

Hey BPP what is you thoughts on Williams not getting big names?
I think its cause he is asking to much and he really doesnt bring anything to the table.
Just curious on what you have to say cause I have never really rad a response from u
you keep discrediting fighters who beat Mexican fighters . That makes most of your posts biased. Trust me, you will enjoy boxing more if you see past race and nationality and start appreciating the skills of non-mexican boxers. peace
Lol, stfu you ****en Pac nuthugger. I can keep a converstation about most boxers past and present cause i'am a fan of boxing. You on the other hand will get lost once you stop talking about Pac.
You ever notice how there is a great Mexican boxer in most all boxing divisions? ****en idiot!!
The facts are against. If you don't like Williams than just admit it. But you can't get away from the actual truth.
I don't like Williams.
1. Margarito fought Williams without Arum involved and Arum got paid.
Didn't know that he still got paid, i thought he was out his contract.
2. HBO turned down Williams-Santos and Williams-Sergie, already stated. Winky Wright was one of the few opponents HBO would approve for Williams. I think you need do some research because Williams' gets HBO some of their highest rating numbers for his fights.
Santos and Sergie fights being turned down wasn't mentioned, only stated in this thread that Santos isn't a draw. If there was another thread that said Hbo turned down Santos/Sergie then i missed it.
Didn't know Williams got good tv ratings for Hbo, now that holds weight.
I never read that Goosen contacted Arum on behalf of Williams, to get Clottey in the ring. If there was a thread i missed it.
What happened to that Margarito-Clottey rematch from last November? Canceled because Margarito wanted more time to relax, his own words, and then signed for Mosley while Clottey sits until 2009. Margarito-Mosley is about money,
Clearly, a money fight, but Cotto fought Mosley and it was his biggest test and now Margarito is going to fight Mosley and he is expect to demolish Mosley. Weird.
just like every other fight and the reason Clottey is sitting is because he brings no money to Margarito or Williams. Williams draws better than Mosley in Calif and he's not a Cali fighter.
When you say "draws" i assume that means Hbo ratings? Cause i know Mosley has never been a popular fighter that fills arenas without a name opponet. And i've read Williams didn't pack the house last time he fought.
I think you need do some research because Williams' gets HBO some of their highest rating numbers for his fights.
bwahahahaahahahahhaaha!!!!!!!
So I guess there was 10,000 empty seats when he fought Verno Phillips because everyone was at home watching the fight on HBO.
Wow and I thought this board couldn't get any dumber.
you keep discrediting fighters who beat Mexican fighters . That makes most of your posts biased. Trust me, you will enjoy boxing more if you see past race and nationality and start appreciating the skills of non-mexican boxers. peace
How is he discrediting Williams when it's common knowledge that he can't draw flys to shit?
It's not like he said he was a shitty fighter and even you must know that very few people are actually willing to pay to watch Paul Williams fight.
It's Ironic how Santos brings no money cause Williams doesn't either. What happened when Clottey wanted to fight William? :dunno: Williams and his people are bullshit liers Clottey wanted to fight him, Sergi wanted to fight him, you guys documented this. So Margarito made more money, doesn't the Champion always take the bigger cut of the pie? How many times has Margarito been short changed just to get the fight? Williams ain't doing nothing new and no one is avoiding him. 1.5 mil for Margarito but how about Paying Arum for borrowing his fighter whom Arum has a contract with?
Winky wanted to borrow Margarito the fighter and leave Arum out of the equation. Lol, Winky might as well have said, he don't want the fight.
Williams is the guy boxing is trying to bank on to live up to the hype, i don't know why so many people are trying to hype him up. Maybe cause he rolling on 24s, lol!
The facts are against. If you don't like Williams than just admit it. But you can't get away from the actual truth.

, so if Williams is offered 1.5 from De La Hoya he should take it because it would be his biggest purse to date? Laughable.
Yes because ODLH can earn 20 million plus against any fighter he gets in the ring with while Paul williams would be lucky to draw 200 people and earn a hundred grand if he fought a Stevie Forbes. The Verno Phillips fight was a Boxing After dark special for christ sake. It was such small fight that they couldn't even promote it under the HBO Championship Boxing banner.
Seriously I don't think you grasp basic econonmics and if Williams keeps thinking that he's worth more money he's never gonn get a big fight and he will be lucky if he' earning a hundred thousand a fight
He's going up in weight because HBO turned down several other fights. Please don't ban me. But the article says, Williams wanted 2.5 mil!!!! And it also says, Goosend said, Pavlik had physical advantages over Williams, lol at that one.
1.5 mil, was more then fair for Williams when he had really not done much but lose to Quintanna then beat Quintanna after beating Margarito.
Again, I firmly belive that Williams people are over pricing them selfs and really are not realistic with there demands.
In turn, the phillips win was a good win. But, now he's going up in weight for a money fight instead of making a name for himself.

No he's out there because he has a hard time getting fights. Williams-Pavlik is simialar to Williams-Margarito, only worse. He started off at 2.5 but said he would take less, but if Arum goes form 1.5 to 1.1 it doesnt take a rocket scientist to tell you he doesnt want that fight for Pavlik. The physical advantages are that Pavlik is fighting in a division that is 13 pounds higher, and is a stronger fighter, whats not to see about that.
Read the article. 1.5 mil was Arums final offer! That was a great deal for someone like Wililams that didn't have any big names on his resume.
And William started at 160 so what are you and Goosen complianing about. And i've said it before already, Williams needs to stay put in one division and put in work. You think Margarito just sat on his ass, no he keep defending his title something William couldn't do effectivly and at all besides 1 defence. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that its better for Williams to fight at a higher more comfortable weight for now, while Margarito handles his shit then a fight between them gets big and Williams will only squeeze down for one fight then he'd just go back up in weight after wards, with a full bag of money.
Williams is fighting in higher division cause his body is forcing him too.
You remember that Margarito wanted to fight Winky and Winky said, NO!

In turn, the phillips win was a good win. But, now he's going up in weight for a money fight instead of making a name for himself. He just out for the money and that's not a bad thing, i just don't like the false hype and accolades he gets. The Phillips fight was a good start, but i think he will lose to Pavlik and can he recover we'll see.
