Floyd is a great defensive fighter,no doubt. But that potshot right hand and shoulder role, probably isnt going to cut it against Margarito. He has a 100+plus punch output. He also punches from all angles, anticipating that many punches, seems impossible.Cotto, couldnt hold Margarito off,33 punches a round from featherfisted Mayweather wont do it.Margarito would walk him down and stop him late!!
I again agree with u,but Margarito does not just pressure u,he also punches from angles. He is a very good inside fighter, and he is much bigger than most if not all Mayweather opponents.Castillo was not as big as Margarito and he enjoyed some success,Its like Steward said,"pressure from a tall fighter,is much more than a short fighter!!
jose luis castillo was faster than margarito, and i believe fought in the 1st fight with a rotator cuff injury but yea antonio is a good inside fighter though
I am biased towards Floyd. I think he has some of the greatest talents we'll ever see.
However, saying and doing are two different things.
I tend to lean towards the guys who prove their worth in the ring and not at the podium.
130 and 35, you hear no complaints from me about the guy.
140 and up, theres a big problem.
least you admit to being biased
Because that particular poster does nothing else but critique other posters thoughts and then call them names.
funny it seems like you do the same
Yea, I see your ridiculously stupid point, because Tony always turned down fights with DLH, Mosley, Judah, Mayorga, Forrest when they were all welterweight champions.
Floyds career and resume>>>>Tonys.
So what.
In the ring, Tony>
oh wait, Floyd is too scared to face him so we'll never really know. But what we do know is, is that one man approached the other and made him squat like a girl and pee in his chair.
The man makes weight, whos to say he shouldn't fight at 147?
Nobody ever gave Hearns crap about being a 6'1" welter.
but you really sound like a hater forreal.. on some gay shit hating on another man like that..
wow you're so intelligent!! you're such a great poster you make perfect sense every time you post!!:bs2:
It wasn't his right hand mate it was his left shoulder... I remember him saying he teared his "rotator joint" or something like that in an interview... whatever it was it was something to do with his left shoulder. Either way you were right still he did have an injury.
Yeah he injured his shoulder because he ran too much in the first fight. :D
Never said he is easy work...Just confident that Floyd would beat them. All I'm sayin is, it is very stupid to say Floyd is scared
I don't think he's scared as much as not willing to chance it for anything less than a mega payday.
Margarito = Too slow, to open to counters
Mayweather = Too good defensive, accurate, fast to lose to Margarito
I agree with this, but it still wouldn't be easy. If Floyd comes back this is a fight that SHOULD be made. JMO.
he was injured, I think it was his right hand.

I'll recant my statement when the fight happens.
Until then, Floyd has talked loads of shit, been confronted by one of his possible opponents and thus far, lied directly to that mans face.
Thats what scared people do.
The conversation doesn't go foward if you think Mayweather is scared...Very dumb to think that
"You'll get your shot".
He retired before the Cotto fight instead.
Will call DLH and Hatton, 2 guys he already beat, "pussies", while never mentioning any fighter who is a threat.
He certainly isn't eager to prove what his mouth says about Tony or Miguel seeing as how they'd both be "easy work".

Cool, as you would see... I edited the post just before you replied, so you would know that I am not trying to belittle your opinion.
I just think Mayweather is a great fighter... I take nothing from Margarito either though, I just think Floyd could beat him. As for what you say about him facing fighters like Marg and Pac, and maybe Cotto... yeah it probably would be nice, but I don't see any point in him continuing to fight if his heart isn't in it... which it probably isn't.
Either way, both of them are great fighters!
To be honest... I think you biased towards Mayweather. I never said it wouldn't be a tough fight for Mayweather... Marg is a very tough fighter, all I am saying is that I think he would simply outbox Marg and win on points.

Well I can say the same about Margarito, he has never fought (much less defeated) someone like Mayweather.
They all have differerent pressure (although Oscar is a boxer not a pressure fighter), Hatton is actually a better pressure fighter in cutting off the ring and making you fight, while Margarito is tougher and more relentless. Every fight I always hear about pressure being the way to defeat Mayweather, but I have never looked at it like that (it has also yet to work). I think a fighter needs to be smart and make Floyd fight in a way he is uncomfortable (now I guess pressure fighting would work for this, but I do not think that is the only thing you can bring to the dance and really have a good chance of winning against Floyd), to do this I think you need some verstility to your game, and with Margarito I do not see that.

Thats about 99% of boxing fans.
The other 1% are Floyd stans who are afraid to see him display his taletns against rugged competition.
See the post above yours about boxing not being a toughman competition.
They fail to see the actual skills of other fighters.

But, we both have our opinions... I am not saying yours is wrong, and I am not saying mine is wrong.
I agree to an extent, but Mayweather has fought no one like Margarito and I do believe Margarito is the best pressure fighter at 147,period.Mayweathers average opponents are no where near as effective a pressure fighter as Margarito,DLH pressure,Ricky Hatton pressure, does not compare to Margarito pressure, believe me!!

You forgot
Margarito=ready and willing to try it anytime.
Mayweather= Too scared to ever prove it.
I would have to favor Floyd if they fought. If you think about it this fight would be bigger now then ever in the past (even bigger if Margarito gets through his first half schedule with 2 wins).
Margarito is not a great technical pressure fighter (follows instead of cutting off the ring, throws wild looping shots and really have only seen him have 1 plan in the ring), that said Margarito is relentless and will throw a lot of shots. Margarito is a big strong guy but he is not a 1 punch guy, if he throws 120 punches around and lands at or worse the statistical average for a Mayweather opponent I do not really think he could break down Mayweather, if he lands at a significantly higher % then an average Mayweather opponent he has a good shot, I just fail to see how he would accomplish that feat.
Mayweather likes to lay on the ropes, and this could work in Margarito favor, even if he only lands slightly more then average while Floyd lays on the ropes it is still a plus. Also since Floyd likes to pick and choose his spots as opposed to fighting all the time, so if the fight is competitive (as opposed to being a boxing lesson) I could see how judges could give the fight to Margarito based on activity considering the lack of damage that might be done to both fighters.
