I agree, but something tells me the whole UK would beg to differ.
I don't think the entire UK is that clueless. However I dont' doubt he would generate some major hype if he beats Pacquiao.
Hatton has proved himself a game champ and has cemented a HOF birth. I don't think he has necessarily done enough to be considered an all time great.
I do feel that if he performs to this best of his abilities he can handle Manny. Still with that said, I don't see him pulling it off. I think he will give Manny fits with his toughness and maybe landing of an occasional shot or two.
if someone like gatti can get in the HOF then hatton should be an ATG.
gatti had multiple fight of the years... gatti has other things to fall back on as far as what hes done in the ring... not so much ricky.
what will he have to do to achieve all time great staus? Did his win over Kostya Tszyu already cement his greatness?
ATG? Not a chance. HOF? Of course. I dont know who he can beat with his few fights left to be an all time great though. And Im a fan.
He is a very good fighter, but not no ATG.
In the next couple of years if he beats Cotto, Margarito, Clotty, Williams, and Manny then he couple have an arguement. but most of them are 147 so i dont think he can do it.
What about beating two? What if Hatton adds Manny to his resume along with Tszyu? While I dont think that will be no where near enough, some would definately think otherwise.

Beating one good fighter does not equal greatness.
Ah man, Im starting to get a headache just thinking about the fuss Ill get if Hatton beats Manny. First Kostya, then Manny. My UK connect will swear he is Ray Robinson material.
Wtf does that have to do with anything?more to the point we don't so he's wrong anyway, I doubt any UK Boxing fan or commentator put him ATG.
I'm sure Ricky Hatton fans(rather than boxing fans) do but so probably do Zab Judah fans
I agree, but something tells me the whole UK would beg to differ.
I am from the UK, and I don't think he deserved to be in the All Time Greats... I am proud of what he has achieved for England and that... but to get an achievement like that you have to do a lot in your career.
I will agree with you though, some people from the UK, who are biased... and don't know much about boxing, would probably try to argue.
He hasn't got the fighters available to be ATG.
The top four of his generation (RJJ, BHop, PBF, Pac) are not shoe in for ATG, lets see in ten years how each are judged.
If you had asked 10 years ago is tyson ATG significantly more would have said yes than they do now, time tends to take the nuthugging out of the situation and you get a more realistic viewing of boxer imo.
I think all four will be in but I think they will be lower than people put them now probably.
I'm a HUGE Hatton fan but he's not even close to ATG.
