1) Timothy Bradley
Campbell loses a UD
2) Juan Urango
He wins a MD over the Columbian, unless Urango can find his chin
3) The winner out of Khan/Kotelnik
He could KO Khan, haven't seen Kotelnik but from what I hear of the Ukranian's fight with Maidana a Campbell-Kotelnik fight would be tough
4) Junior Witter
He could beat Witter, no reason for the matchup if Witter loses to Devon Alexander for the vacant WBC title
5) Kendall Holt
Holt could pull this off, if he uses his damn jab. Campbell could find his chin, and KO him. Holt's been stopped twice, though I think that the second stoppage to Torres was home-cooking. (Based on Torres' recent pathetic performance, I think Holt would KO the Columbian in a rematch)
I don't know, I think Dirrell, even with his limited experience, has a better chin, stamina, and strength then Taylor. He will outpoint Froch, although I do respect the British badass.
I agree. Looks good. Also guys, Holyfield not only has the opportunity to be the oldest heavyweight champion, the fight, depending on their respective weights, will break the record for the largest weigh disparity between two fighters fighting for a world title.
Look at the video of Moorer-Holyfield I. Jerry Roth scored the second round, the round which Holyfield knocked Moorer down in, I might add, a 10-10 round, with the other judges giving the round 10-9 for Holyfield. When I score a fight I can find the occasional even round, but not when there's a knockdown in the friggin' round.
And that's just his Heavyweight resume...you forgot Dwight Muhammad Qawi and the others he fought at cruiser. Remarkable resume.
Evander and Moorer never had a trilogy because Holyfield won the reatch emphatically and won the first one in a lot of people's eyes.
I always thought Holyfield won the first one, too. 5 years after he retires he'll be eligible for being voted in the IBHOF. Say he retires next year, if he isn;t elected when first eligible by 2014, the IBHOF should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.
Credit for losing, how does that make sense. Fighting Hatton at 140 his best weight for the ring title in England
Gee...Holyfield was given credit and gained respect for losing to Riddick Bowe the first time. Except Holyfield fought everybody and Mayweather fought nobody at welter save Judah and Baldomir. Hatton doesn't count.
What the heck? This fight shouldn't even be taking place. I think Dawson's gonna come in the ring ticked off more than he was, and he's gonna go for a KO. I can see Dawson TKOing Tarver between the 8th-10th rounds.
I'm backing Haye. People are tired of these "safety-first' heavyweights. I think he's rushing things, but he did the smart thing by bringing in Lennox Lewis.
I personally think Arreola's the next big flop. He almost got stopped in the first round and would probably have if Walker was a bigger puncher. If Haye, Peter or the Klitschkos hit him with those same shots he'd be snoozing on the canvas. But I think that Peter is capable of pulling off a decision. Remember Peter-Toney II? I don't think Arreola has any boxing ability, Max Kellerman keeps raving about his "underrated" boxing ability, but the last time he boxed he was a amatuer light-heavyweight many years ago.
I feel that Clottey's got a good defense and a good chin, he's capable of winning over Cotto, I think, though it would be a decision win, and not a unanimous one, I might add.
Joe is wrong about boxing dying, and yeah, De La Hoya's two years younger than him, but Oscar's fought more big names than Joe ever has. Who'd Joe beat that is either in the IBHOF or will be? Roy Jones, Bernard Hopkins by a narrow decision, and probably Chris Eubank, though I'm unsure if he is in the HOF or not. Going in against good opponents tends to take a lot out of a person, and Oscar's faced off against a lot of good people, including Pernell Whitaker, Bernard Hopkins, and Felix Trinidad.
Dariusz "Tiger" Michalczewski unified the three of the 4 major titles by beating Virgil Hill. At that time Hill was the considered the lineal. The WBA and IBF titles were stripped or some crap. Julio Gonzalez beat Dariusz ... Zsolt beat Julio... Hence he is the lineal champ. Unfortunately, as we all know he's not doing the title any justice
Oh, OK thanks. Yes, he's a bum anyway. Edrei's not gonna fight anybody, so let's just wait 'til he retires or for him to get cocky and then be knocked out.
Light Heavyweight: Calzaghe (lineal Zolt Eldrei) (Dawson should go to germany and beat Eldrei and free the lineal belt that this bastard is holding hostage)
How, pray tell, is that bum Erdei the lineal champion? Anyway, does anybody follow the Ring Magazine on who the champs are?
My opinion, Hatton doesn't possess the skill to beat Pacquiao, though I'm sure he's gonna have a lot of heart in the fight. He's gonna get TKO'd probably on cuts.
True, I suppose, a win is a win. But he got wiped out by B-Hop. I just think people shouldn't be so quick to criticize Taylor and shouldn't be so eager to crown Pavlik as "the best middleweight of this time", just based on his two defenses and the upcoming defense against a crappy fighter like Mora.
no one can beat vitali. vitali has never lost and will never lose.
Uh, he lost to Chris Byrd becasue he quit, and he lost to Lennox Lewis due to a horrific cut. Nobody's unbeatable, Marciano would have a lot of losses nowadays.
I agree here and this is what I see happening. It is kind of a bad scenario when you have a great fight between two great fighters and you don't want either one to lose- but we still want to see the great fight. I did not want anyone to really lose in the Diaz/Marquez fight as I like both guys...great fight though
Guess we know truly that a cut on the eye is Diaz's Achilles' heel.
you aint nothing to me..lol
Ha, ha. That's amusing to watch at the end of the HBO broadcast of Bowe-Holyfield I. I think that Bowe might have won, consider his fight with Jorge Gonzalez. They hated each other since the amatuer days, and Bowe trained intensely for the fight and KO'd Gonzalez in round 6. Lewis, or course, at the time of the first Holyfield fight, was just, just, horrible. He was decent, I guess, but he would have been beat at that point by Holyfield and a prime Tyson. Bowe would have showed up, looking to knock out Lewis, and he would have most likely gotten it, if he showed up with the same intensity he had against Evander Holyfield that first time.
What are Dimitrenko's keys to victory against Chambers? Constant pressure and his long jabs? And what are Chambers Keys to victory? His defense and movement trying to avoid the jab and looking for countering opportunities?
Chambers would give the Ukranian a boxing lesson. Taking out a shopworn fighter in Krasniqi doesn't prove anything.
