Both are young and coming into their primes. If Pavlik beats AA next fall, which of these guys do u think Pavlik beats next year if they challenge him? This includes vets who may move up.
It is not a mover that represents Kelly Pavlik's weakness. A defensive cagey counter puncher is Pavlik's weakness. I see a lot of people make that mistake in here.
None of those in that list fall into that category. Pavlik lost to Hopkins because Hopkins made him pay for not only throwing punches, but also for not throwing punches. Pavlik kept getting beat to the punch, fell apart mentally and got lost in there.
A mover Pavlik can deal with. Hopkins made him think too much in there, which was his downfall. Pavlik was caught green, but hopefully learned something from it. He may never have to fight someone as well rounded as Hopkins again, he should hope so anyway.
Pavlik will do well against most, but with his style, he has limitations that can be exploited.
The only people Pavlik has business facing at the moment is Abraham and Williams. They are the top 2 challengers for the Middleweight linear title in my book.
Uhh...None of them, since none are junior-middleweights. This is assuming he's still the champ next year (I think he'll beaten by Abraham.)
these are all junior middle weights. what are u smoking.

co-sign. Kelly should focus on ruling 160. despite everyone trashing the middleweights, the 154-160 divisions provide the possibilities of all these fighters facing one another: Angulo, Cintron, Williams, Forrest, Pavlik, Wright, Kirkland, Abraham, Julio, even Margarito when he gets back. Not to mention decent fighters like Sturm, Mora, and dare I say, Anthony Mundine. I genuinely believe any combination of these fighters could end up facing each other in the nedt year and a half(END OF 2010)
we will see,he should fight sturm cant see it happening though.he has 2 fight abraham and il lose a lot of respect 4 him if that fight never happens
I haven't really watched Jcc jr and haven't seen enough of kirkland to really decide Whether or not they stand a chance...but in my opnion Cintron doesn't have what it takes to dig deep enough and pull out a win against someone like pavilk.
Martinez might be fast and unorthodox enough to cause pavilk problems which could possibly lead to a victory as long as he constantly circles to Pavlik's left and try to nullify any leverage he can get into his right hand shots as that is pavlik's bread and butter.
Forrest I feel has the right tools to pull out a decision against the ghost. Not that Forrest is in the same league as bhops but hopkins proved that you do not need exceptionl power or speed to beat pavlik...you just need to be in tune with his in-ring tendencies and know how to exploit them well...which I feel forrest proved he can do in his rematch with mora.
Right now I say he beats them all. Angulo would probably end up in a body bag if they ever fight as much as he gets hit. Sergio Martinez would probably be the hardest fight for him as well as he moves.
I dont see whats wrong with just being the champion in your division. Unlike anybody at 168, Kelly is actually and linear world champ, he can stay where he is at and let fights come to him, IMO. Besides, there are two tough Germans out there, the winner of Williams-Wright, and all of these up and coming JMW talents around.v

its a shame theres some great fights at smw for him if he actually wants 2 step up

there is a very high possibilty that these 09 JMW's will move up in weight possibly nect year. And in case u didn't know, middleweights have have been taking on the best JMW's for decades...
Note: I believe Pavlik will stat at MW for at least another year and a half

I could definitely see him fighting JCC Jr. in a year, year and half if Jr. keeps winning. Both guys are Arum fighters with strong fan bases.
Also if Angulo and Kirkland ever fight, the winner of that would come out of it with A LOT of hype. I could see that leading to a showdown with Kelly.
Style wise I think Sergio Martinez is the only one who would really have a shot, and even then I dont think he would pull it off.
pavlik shouldnt be fighting junior middleweights anyway
