Floyd is bigger of course, ridiculous question to ask. But not by mouch. Floyd is a small welterweight while Manny pac is a f*cking tiny one that really shouldn't be fighting in that division.. but say you make a fight between them at a weltweight catchweight or at 140 and you have a fairly even playing field, size wise.
You do know that boxing has been around for over 200years while martial arts have survived for thousands of years for a reason right??? They've been battle tested for thousands of years over hundreds of wars. They also exist for very different purposes so this argument is ridiculous.Boxing has been around a lot longer than that buddy. Boxing has been around since the time of the Greeks when they would stage boxing tournaments for Olympic medals.. and boxing has probably been around even longer than that.
That's the video I was talking about right there. This guy doesn't even seem to be all that strong or all that hard of a puncher, yet with his obvious boxing abilities he was able to f*ck both those guys up with ease and neither one had half a chance to do anything about it.
And you bring up good points my man. Wrestling, MMA grappling, judo.. these are all prety good disciplines one on one, but in a fight with multiple opponents the key is to be able to strike and strike quickly.. and boxing is one of the kings of that kind of discipline.
surely this classifies as a street fight. If your everyday boxer can beat 4 normal guys at the same time, I mean hey...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iDlzL7zrNUThat's proof positive right there of how effective a boxer can be in a street fight. By the way, that guy can HIT! Homie is taking guys out with jabs!
There's another one of these videos out there that shows a guy and his buddy as they forearm this boxer's girl in the face. The boxer then procedes to kick the shit out of both of them with sharp combinations. Cant find the vid though.
Me taking a guy out on the street means very little as I've had actual training in the sport since age 11, but I've taught both my brother and sister a few boxing techniques through the years and they've been able to beat the hell out of people with these simple techniques.
Most people don't even really know how to throw a decent punch so you can literally kick a person's ass with almost nothing but a jab. And I gotta tell ya, boxing has kicked more ass on the streets than any of those other martial art disciplines you're tallking about.
I'm sorry, but Shane has no where near lived up to the greatness of the last two great Sugars, Robinson and Leonard. If anything the ghost of Ray Robinson was a little ticked that a fighter who has never lived up to his full potential and was caught using roids carries his glamorous nickname.
Why do you feel sorry for a guy who got caught with plaster in his hand-wraps... Don't get this shitAnd why the f*ck are people all of a sudden praising a man who was caught using roids? Answer me that smart guy 'cause I don't get that shit myself.
Abraham... it's the fight that makes most sense, competively speaking. It's without a doubt the best fight that can be made at middlleweight right now.
AWESOME... big fan of Julio Diaz... guy is a great world class boxer and definitely more skilled than Katisisdis.
Thing is Julio is often bothered by extreme pressure so it should be a great contrast of styles. Can't wait!
I wouldn't blame Mosley though because he is an old man for a boxer. He uses his strength advantage very well.Mwuuaaahahahaha!!!! F*cking hilarious!... hahahahahaha
One's a retired wrestler and one's 37.A simple ''won't happen'' will do.Wrestler?.. hahaha. Prety good way of describing Shane's style in his last two fights...lol.
Anyway, I'll take Mayweather by UD. I still think that Floyd is head over heals the best fighter in the entire division. Only guys I can see giving him problems are maybe Cotto because of his style, and maybe Willkoiams because of his freakish height and volume punching. Though I'd still favor Mayweather over any one of those guys.
I'm pretty sure he meant this:
Yeah you're right, I didn't read that correctly. Although you can't deny that Molsey has done a whole crap load of wrestling and clinching lately.
gause doesn't make a heavy hand though.. if anything it makes it softer.
damn, so that's what all the fuzz about Tito is?
hopkins fans are just down right haters then.Read what I wrote above.
u kannot weigh 2 pounds under the limit
and klaim "weight drained"
he was well prepared and in excellent shape2 pounds can be very significant because weight multiplies by the time you're rehydrated by fight time. A single pound can mean a difference of 3 extra pounds that you gain from the weigh in to the actual time of the fight... and believe it or not a difference of only 3 pounds can be very significant as to how the fighter performs in the ring.
Now having said that he did look weight drained to me, but that's not exactly an excuse seeing as how Margarito chose to drain himself down in weight, so if he was weak during the fight then it was his own fault.
To my knowledge, it was never followed up by the Commission. But I just want to make this clear to you : It wasn't Hopkins who alleged Tito illegally wrapped his hands, it was his trainer Naazim Richardson. You seem to be very hateful of Hopkins for some reason Vick, let it go son. Let it go.Very true, it was Hopkins' trainer and not Hops himself who allegedly saw the illegal hand wrapping take place.
And no the comission didn't do a follow up, but I'm prety sure that an official was there to oversee the incident and they were the ones who made Tito re-wrap is hands.
Just to add Tito used a technique called "casting" to wrap his hands that night which is a practice where you wrap a fighter's hands in gauze and then layer it with tape and then repeat the process over and over again which apparently makes the fist hard as a cast.
Both were over rated fighters who destroyed guys who just came at them or fighters they were able to out slug. But neither was able to hold on to the top spot for long and both were dominated by slick, defensive boxers with power. Trinidad got blasted by Hopkins and Wright and Margarito loses to Williams and gets destroyed by Mosley. You'll be seeing Margarito as a light heavyweight in a couple of years.Yeah, and Molsey = Vargas + Toney.. what does that equal? All roid abusers.
Pleeeaaasse, don't act as if Margarito is some kind of devil and Mosley is some kind of saint. All that happaned on Saturday is that one cheater beat another one. Period.
Good try! But theres no way in hell that Berto gives him a rematch. He wil be fighting some B-C level fighters from now on!!!!!!!!!Collazo is a B level fighter. Guys like Berto and Collazo are world class but they're not quite A level, elite fighters.
The 120-106 scorecard was not really too outlandish, because you could make a case for Urango in every round. Ngoudjo never dominated in any round, and in several rounds he was just trying to survive.I agree, if you think this fight was close then you're letting Teddy's biased calling of the fight affect your scoring here because Urango was landing the bigger shots in nearly every round and did deserve the wide UD victory he got here.
No controvery here, the right man won the fight.
Don't let Teddy's bias calling of the fight get you mixed up here. Urango won that fight prety big. The judges' scorecards were about right. Atlas just never gives Juan enough credit for the good shit he does in there.
I had it a wide UD for Urango myself. Teddy never gives Urango enough credit for the good stuff he does in there just because he looks kind of slow and swings wide.. but Urango happens to land a prety decent amount of those big ass swings because he gets close before throwing them. Plus, Teddy was getting on Juan for not throwing enough to the body but I saw him throw maybe 50% of his punches to the body so I don't know what the hell Atlas was on about???
Anyway, I gave the fight to Urango wide because he was clearly landing the heavier shots thoughout. No controversy here, Urango won big.
It remains to be seen how great a fighter Haye can actually be, but from what I've seen so far Haye's chin isn't srong enough to stand up to Tua's power, and Haye isn't good enough to stay away from Tua for a full 12 rounds.
Tua by KO within the early to middle rounds.
I didn't like the way Shane fought either.. nothing truly spectacular about his performance IMO.. he fought basically the same fight that he fought against Mayorga and both fights were prety damn ugly.
Shane wouldn't be nearly as effective if the refs wouldn't allow him to hold as much
True. He doesn't just give us our money's worth, he gives us a piece of his soul every time he throws down. a beautiful fighter....Couldn't have said it better myself.
Long live the champ, Israel Vazquez!
Yup, and this is a terrible thread.Well, he makes some good points, but Naps is basically pointing out the obvious. The Klits are the best of a very bad bunch. Heavyweight dominance in this watered down era means very little.
Personally I see Vitali as the far superior fighter who could contend in any era, but his greatness is in question because he has no opposition to really push him. Wladdy on the other hand looks like the kind of guy who would get crushed in a better era of heavyweights. The guy couldn't go 6 rounds with some of the best contenders of the 90's IMO.
Hell no. It wasn't even imaginable when it was first signed. Just shows how unreal Pac is.It also shows how greedy Oscar is. Fool tried cashing in on a big payday by picking on a much, much smaller man and he end up getting his ass kicked instead. Looks to me like he got exactly what he deserved.
I watched the Iggy fight with my missus and had told her this Klitchko character was the HW champ and the best out there - she was like Whaaat!? THAT is the best out there!?
haha... that prety much says is all doesn't it?
Yesterday's fight was just like any other Klitschko fight.. hardly worth a watch. What a piece of garbage that guy's fights are.. and sad thing is we're stuck with him because the only guy I really see beating him out there is his own f;esh and blood and won't ever be facing him anytime soon. Crrrap!
