I'm not making excuses for him or anything, but he really just didn't look right. He weighed in at less than 146 and gained 15 pounds overnight....and looked sluggish. I know Mosley did a great job with space and clinching, but even when Tony had space and was throwing he looked sluggish. We always hear that 147 is really easy for him to make, but I have a hard time believing that.
I think it's possible we've seen that last of Tony at 147, something looked really off and I think he needs to move up.
u kannot weigh 2 pounds under the limit
and klaim "weight drained"
he was well prepared and in excellent shape2 pounds can be very significant because weight multiplies by the time you're rehydrated by fight time. A single pound can mean a difference of 3 extra pounds that you gain from the weigh in to the actual time of the fight... and believe it or not a difference of only 3 pounds can be very significant as to how the fighter performs in the ring.
Now having said that he did look weight drained to me, but that's not exactly an excuse seeing as how Margarito chose to drain himself down in weight, so if he was weak during the fight then it was his own fault.
He got back up to 160, his body looked pretty much the same. I think his face looked a little thinner than usual and his muscles were a little "looser" looking.

Margarito has always been sluggish. That is his trade mark, slow ponderous punches.
Tony surely didn't look like someone who holds the welterweight division record of most punches thrown in a bout. But, I am not too sure that it was because of weight issues.
In one of the middle rounds, he started pushing Mosley back but then Shane stopped him in his tracks with quick and solid counters, the most telling of which served as a punctuation mark as the bell sounded.
Tony's problem may even have been mental-- that illegal wrapping issue may have messed his head. Or, he may have been unable to get past the initial surprise from Mosley's aggresiveness from the gitgo.
Or, Shane may just have been simply too sweet for Tony that night. It was the best I have seen him and it served as proof positive that he really is "Sugar".
Or, it may have been a confluence of all these factors....
145 for a guy that has trouble making weight is stupid. But i think they came in that low to try and make the Pac fight a reality even though that never would of happened had Marg have won. Im still downloading the fight, i want to see if he looked like himself or not.
You didn't see it at all?

Nope he tends to come in at that weight or abouts on fight night anyway :puppy_dog
Nahhhhhh, he jus got his ass kicked. I aint see em come forward wit any less intensity. He still took bombs to that chin and kept coming. I aint see no problems...other than the fact that Mosley couldn't miss him.
Nope, he looked the way he usually does. Him being weight draind didn't even come close to entering my mind. Mosely made him look sluggish...lol
Whether he was or wasn't he was still going to lose.
