Meldrick Taylor-JCC I
Longtime considered one of the worst stoppages ever
THE WORST in my book.....Richard Steele had a bounty on his head in Philly....if he would've stepped a foot anywhere in Philly he would've been a WAS........he WAS a ref, he WAS alive, he WAS this and that...ya get the picture!
Arce-Hussein II...
It's unique because it was the corner that stopped it.
And this stoppage is one that makes Buddy McGirt look like he saved Malignaggi's life compared to Fenech stopping Hussein.
It ALWAYS makes my day to watch that stoppage.
I'd have to say the manfredo/calzaghe bout. Not saying manfredo had a serious shot of beating calzaghe but still he earned his right to at least give it everything he had trained for.
joe messed his hand up bad in that round. never know

Besides the fact that rules require the fight to be stopped if a fighter falls back to the canvas after standing up?
The rules do not state that. I don't know why Bobby Czyz said that they do.
Ay, not for nothing, but I still believe the ref should have given Zab Judah a standing eight count against Kosta Zyu. Sure he was all dazed and all, but I still think he sould've been given the opportunity to recover, If, and "ONLY IF" he was still wobbling after EIGHT, then the ref should have waved it off. The MGM Grand in Las Vegas, had the "no three knock down rule", the standing eight count rule was in affect, he just couldn't be saved by the bell, in any round.

Travis Walker-TJ Wilson
Lol at that being the worst stoppage ever. Walker drops his hands to his side and begins to slump with his eyes closed while taking a vicious beating from a 6'6" 280 lb dude.
I don't agree with the stoppage, but the way Joe was going, you think he would have stopped throwing? I think there was some time left in that round, a few more seconds IMO and Manfredo would eventually eat flush shots. He couldn't have escaped from that round. The ref should have stopped it later, but the end was inevitable.
I really dont know. Ive neevr seen manfredo hurt. and only time he went down was againt lacy because off balance.
I was talking about Steele stopping it. I thik it really fucked him up insted of "saving him" as that guy said. There was probably permanet damage from Chavez, but Taylor might have never gotten into legal troubles or fight have long as he did.
What part of the fight do you think that Steele should have stopped the fight(earlier)? And are you sure you are from Philly? You sure don't seem like it :lol1:
Taylor was still a good fighter after losing to Chavez. Not quite the same, but still good enough to move up in weight and beat an undefeated champ.
Taylor took too much punishment in general. The Chavez fight was the main one that did it, but Philly is known for gym wars, and it's easy to see Taylor being in some brutal sparring sessions. Sparring plays a big role in guys getting brain damaged as well.
doesnt change the fact of it being a ridiculous stoppage.. besides.. Joe apparantly hurt his hand bad in that barrage of slaps.. could of changed the fight..
Are you serious?
Joe would have beaten Manfredo with one hand easily anyway.
