Well you see,everybody is using the marriage comparison,so my question is who really knows what goes behind close doors in a marriage,All i know Schaeffer could be an alcoholic,but what inside info DO YOU have that can tell you if its accurate or not..You can say whatever about de la hoya but hes no pushover and at end of day its his company and his name...I think this is a classic "I do all the work and he gets credit,I should make my own company"..If schaeffer thinks de la hoya will be lost without him I think he is mistaken.

marquez has better physiques at his oldest age than during his prime years. and its not like this is early to mid 30s marquez, this is 40 year old marquez. you dont have that kind of body at that age if you are not taking peds. Actually from what I know, TR didnt give him the money they promised him as Schaefer pointed out. And although Bradley may get paid for one Pac fight, after that he is stuck fighting bums. At golden boy he will get paid WAAAY more fighting the real fighters. All the fights combined between 140 and 154 will equate to WAAAY more money than one Pac fight, and a bunch of MEANINGLES record-padders with Rios and Alvarado. Bradley will never be an ATG ww. This is not true. Floyd fought Ricky Hatton in December of 2007 and outsold Manny when he fought Hatton. Against all their mutual opponents Floyd has outsold Manny. Manny has NEVER done 2 million buys no matter who he fought while Floyd has done so twice. i think so. same way adonis ducked kovalev, chavez jr ducked ggg, and now mikey ducked gamboa. when these guys are matched up with a tough opponent (who have a good shot at beating them) they run to al haymon and gbp. Individual boxers sell fights. Since we don't have a polarizing star right now I'm not as passionate about watching boxing. I think boxing popularity goes in cycles. It surges whenever a star with a personality emerges. Yes you are right,but when you have lets say two good fighters,for example Canelo vs GGG,that fight for sure would sell very good,as where GGG sells 200k and canelos last outing did like 500K(if that),but with now golden boy saying they will go ahead and continue fighting some other people,fans now dont even care to watch canelo.What I am saying or trying to say,dont people misses vasquez vs marques ,barrera vs morales,paul williams,explosive pac vs marquez(the first two)..Many people I have heard they blame Mayweather,not because his style of fighting(most people say IT IS that)but the way business was done,catchweights,wait 5 years for pac,even he saying his health was first,things like that made a lot of people scratch their heads...I cannot blame HIM for Boxing being where it is,but I am sure if you have kovalev vs ward,canelo vs ggg,adonis vs kovalev,I talking explosive fighters,people will watch again.. People just need to stop raising their expectations and accept things as they are. It's a culture. It's ingrained in fighters that they're not supposed to fight 2-3 tough ones in a row. Andrade made an impressive come back and where is he now? Fighting another unknown guy. The disease is deep-rooted. The solution is to just root for the unknown guy and hope for an upset. I'm rooting for Danny Garcia's opponent, for example. Upsets may be rare buy they happen. It's fun. Try it. I've done it,but there are certain fights that you know there is no way in hell the underdog has the slightest chance to win,I guess,if for example,you/me follow danny garcia and fights Sammy Vargas,we all excited since we know he will look good,the problem is that I think he needs better fights,so even my interest fades..Makes sense?

Meh, the "boxing is dead" talk is perennial and annoying, but always wrong. All sports live and die on the backs of stars, especially combat sports, which are 1-on-1 battles. Where would the NBA be without LeBron and Curry? The modern NFL was essentially built by Brady and Manning. The UFC is a complete niche sport outside of Conor and Ronda. Boxing is no different. People need to relax a tad. We're in the classic lull any sport experiences in-between eras. We're just now exiting the May/Pac era, probably headed into the Joshua/Canelo/Spence era or something. Once a few stars pick up mainstream steam the entire sport will start to emerge again.. Is not so much the boxing is dead,since the millions that fighters are still making shows there is still some interest,but as far as to go MEH,I am not sure,for MMA to say mcgregor and rousey are carrying the UFC is a bit too much since there are other promotions(for example bellator)that have good fighters and brings excitment.The problem is that if you can honestly say you feel the same about boxing as compare to lets say,4 years ago,I dont think you are being truthful.And the problem about new stars emerging is that the same patter will continue,fighting either 4 times a year against nobodies and then fighting once a year.I am telling you,ask people if they know who Kovalev or Ward is and they have the slightest idea. Boxing just has no structure. It is horribly ran, has been since the late 80s, and it's totally alienated casual fans for a generation now. It's been a slow drip for years, but now you are seeing the full effects. It's a combination of factors: Moved from network TV to premium channels and PPv, missing out on the average fan. Having the big fights on PPV doesn't really hurt as much as not having network TV access Horrible matchmaking, pre-PBC nearly all the major fights were not on network TV, the only ones on network TV were total mismatches which pretty much killed network card ratings to the point that they got cancelled: world wide of sports, Tuesday night fights, tnt fights, etc Top guys not fighting each other in timely manner.. The 70s and 90s were both loaded with heavyweight talent, but the difference was that the guys from the 70s fought each other all in timely manner.. We had to wait years for tyson v evander, lennox, etc bowe-holyfield was about the only big fight that happened in a timely manner. Too many belts, too many sanctioning bodies, too many paper champs... Way too confusing for an average fan to understand. This is one of the most damaging things to boxing.. Most of the rankings make no sense, and way too many mediocre fighters find themselves in eliminators or title fights I agree with you.I remember watching a fight and someone was asking ,who is the champ,I said both,soooo whoever wins becomes champion of champions?..no,there are 3 more champions!:kabong:

There were undisputed champs before PBC? Touché,but it is a fact PBC overpaid certain fighters to fight less than stellar opposition.

It's been a really bad year but I feel I should stay optimistic because some really good fights are coming up. It has been..I dont know of anybody that has the slightest excitment for this saturday's fight..Now,can you imagine danny garcia vs pac,or thurman ,even porter?..no way hbo would have passed on that one??
