I thought the article was pretty fair and probably fairly accurate. Well you see,everybody is using the marriage comparison,so my question is who really knows what goes behind close doors in a marriage,All i know Schaeffer could be an alcoholic,but what inside info DO YOU have that can tell you if its accurate or not..You can say whatever about de la hoya but hes no pushover and at end of day its his company and his name...I think this is a classic "I do all the work and he gets credit,I should make my own company"..If schaeffer thinks de la hoya will be lost without him I think he is mistaken.

I really don't understand the Schaefer hate, he's run that company the entire time and he's been a consistent presence. Within the industry, Oscar's been sort of a joke for the last few years. He's the face and namesake of the company, but it has grown beyond him. Sorry to say believe me, but if he's checking into rehab during fight weeks and constantly becoming entangled in embarrassing episodes, he's a liability. I'm also afraid Arum is using him for leverage to resign Pacquiao. By publicizing their conversations and floating Canelo's name with Manny's, Arum could be trying to sell Manny on GBP fights being doable.

Oscar doesn't know how to run a business, just like Floyd doesn't know how to run a business, they pay guys to run things for them and invest for them. The only thing here is can Richard succeed once Floyd retires? Haymon doesn't know how to build fighters he just gets them good deals, can Richard build fighters the way Top Rank built fighters? The only way Oscar gets screwed here is if Canelo signs with Haymon, because once Floyd retires Canelo is the next biggest star on goldenboy. Showtime deal and Richards move all revolves around Mayweather, like the article said. Once Mayweather retires it will be interesting to see how far Richard, Haymon, Espinoza go can they build other fighters into stars and how will the showtime boxing ratings look? Will people care about Mayweather the promoter? a lot of questions. They've built a bunch of fighters right before your eyes, where have you been?

Iole is a hardcore flomo, all of his articles come from that perspective. It's unsurprising he's against Oscar, and pro Schaefer, because that's how Floyd is. What he fails to acknowledge are the strong rumours that GBP have not made a profit and investors are unhappy.

All these boxing writers are crap anyway especially max boxing.com and Dan Rafael. Dan Rafael is dreadful. A tamed journalist who somehow ended up in probably the best writing post in boxing. It's bad enough that he doesn't write particularly well, he is so averse to controversy that he has practically nothing to say about some of the most important issues in the sport. Journalists like Dan Rafael are the reason even hardcore fans have so little factual information about a lot of what goes on in boxing, the 'cold war' included. Compared to other sports it's tragic to see how terrible the standards of journalism are. There are genuinely only a handful of writers you could have anything good to say about.

Nothing in what he wrote is false though. I loved Oscar as a fighter, but as a promoter he was terrible. His constant incoherent Tweets, his terrible speeches at other fighters press conferences, his constant need to go to rehab, his moods swings. One day he loves Arum and wants to hug him, the next day he's fed up with Arum and hates him. All of that adds up and takes it's toll. There is a reason people in his own company don't take him seriously. Schaffer in the mean time has been busy growing the company. Making fights fans want to see, being involved in great PPV's. Aside from Mayweather he's busy growing Canelo, Thurman, Garcia, Broner, and others. Oscar is an emotional guy and often acts on emotion. He just came out of rehab, and all of the sudden he loves Arum and wants to patch things up. How long is that going to last thought? My guess is Schaffer knows Oscar like a married man knows his wife. He's going to let Oscar say what he feels, let time pass give him time to reflect and cool off, and then he'll be OK.
