I hope he feels better. I dont eat well when i am in the phils. Usually i avoid the mini bar inside the hotel. Even the people tell me in the street
Mukha kang maysakit, kumakain kaba ng maayos? This also can be stressed induced.
I thought that Kevin Iole's comments were even worse than Rafael. He pretty much trashed Rigo for his greatest win. Iole is a clown fanboy and more so than his Bobby the Brain Heenan avatar.
The man showed class and respect after the fight. He said positive things about Donaire despite all the trash talking. Rigo despite only being in the US for a short time has embraced the US and said he is "American." His opponent who has lived in the US for 21 years is never seen with the stars and stripes and stills calls his old country his country.
Rigo also unlike his opponent has never made his parents cry on national tv and turn his back on the people who raised and feed him. Like you said, "Don't hate on Rigondeaux."
Actually they don't know what they were watching that's why they were booing.
It's like having a bunch of hard rock fans at a classical music concert.
I agree with most of your posts, but differ with this analogy. I can listen to Sabbath, Rush, Maiden and also am a huge fan of Bach, Wagner, Beethoven, and Mozart. In fact, i will be seeing Wagner's Ring Cycle soon and paid for that instead of seeing Rigo-Donaire. Also had to pay the IRS a major tax bill this year.
A good analogy is people who prefer a slugfest over a pitcher's duel.
BHOP has not knocked a guy out since DLH which was like 8 and a half years ago. Personally, i don't think he is on steroids, but PEDS as HGH or EPO are always going to be suspected. Pascal, "are you willing to take the test" was greeted with eerie silence by BHOP. If you are clean F-U, i will take any test.
I have him about #13, top of my head who is ahead of him is Benitez, Ortiz, Gomez,Torres, Trinidad, Dejesus, Montanez, Camacho, Serrano, Escobar, Vasquez, Deleon (three time cruiser champion).
I won't argue much if he was around #11-#13, but he is not top 10 in my book. Maybe he is slightly ahead of Escobar and Vasquez.
This is a repeat thread as i wrote about this in the past.
I have him slighty ahead of Laporte, Rosario, and Calderon. Now the thing about Laporte is that although COtto has the better career, Laporte was much more competitive in big fights. Laporte was never knocked out or even knocked down. Laporte got in the ring with killers as Salvador Sanchez, Azumah Nelson, Tszyu, W. Gomez, and Chavez. I thought he beat CHavez by one point 114-113. The only official stoppage of Laporte's career was an eye injury not a knockout in the classic sense.
All the indications are that this fight is going to bomb. When you have only 60,000 viewers for an episode of All-Access its a very bad indicator. If they kept Canelo-Trout on the undercard it would have helped it go over a million.
I had predicted that the PPV sales would be around 900,000 which is the amount that Mayweather-Hatton did, but now i will be shocked if it even does that amount.
The undercard is weak, the main event is bad, too many boxing fights recently, and they will compete with the NBA playoffs. If it does bad than maybe Mayweather will literally be forced to fight Canelo next.
Dan Rafael? Skinny? Did I miss the joke?
Well he recently loss about 10 pounds, even if there is about 100 more pounds to go, i will give him credit for losing those 10 and call him skinny.
The Hurtado KO was to preserve the big payday with DLH. But Whitaker was losing badly for most of the bout. I think the TS was talking about the best performance meaning from start to finish.
The Hurtado definitely showed that Whitaker could be a puncher if he needed a big KO, and he needed that Ko since he was losing badly on the cards. Most importantly, it preseved the big payday with DLH.
Whitaker put also dominating perfomances against Haugen and Ramierez 2. Haugen never was knocked down or dominated until he was shutout by Whitaker. Whitaker was the first to drop haugen. Haugen was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame.
After getting robbed with Ramirez in the first fight he would throughly dominate Ramirez. In one round he even toyed with the hall of fame Ramirez by staying in the corner and just making Ramirez miss shot after shot, than he gleefully walked out of the corner unscathed, Mayweather wouldn't be able to such an act.
I don't think it was flirting. BHOP was talking to everyone in the ring. My best bet is that he was talking about their gig, he asked somthing, they giggled, and one responded, "No...not at all."
Than again i am betting that the new pope is going to be Leonardo Sandri of Argentina. Well see how good that prediction will be
If you want to see a fighter flirt with the ringcard girl than watch Pac-Barrera 2, it was obvious Pac was flirting on a few occassions between rounds. Roach would even tell Pac, "stop fooling around this fight is close."
Well i did get the country right. The reason i thought Sandri over Bergoglio was that Sandri was seven years younger. But my rational was right, a latino of Italian heritage. The concept was to appease the latin american congregation while giving the Italian people a guy with Italian ancestry.
Sergio Martinez is already tweeting and retweeting about this.

Rigo could have been some of these cuban delicacies between rounds and won Medianoche, cafe negro, Y Frijoles negros.
Essentially in pinoy terms he told Donaire Magandang Umaga, Magandang Hapon, and than Mangandan Gabi or better yet Gandang Gabi, and ended it with paalam na po. Paalam to the holy trinity of Pinoy boxing Pac, Donaire, and Viloira all loss their final match.
ok , you got one right and so did 50 % of boxing fans , what makes you special ?..lol
What makes you special? I have won a national writing award, have two degrees, and a state commission what do you have?
yeah but where were you giving your 2 cents pre fight?...it's so easy to talk sh1t now that you know the result but where were you pre fight?...lol
Check my post on another thread that I bumped up. I always said this was going to the cards. Did i say Rigo was going to dominate, no, but i said it would be close and NO WAY thought Rigo was going to sleep. Narvaez is a southpaw like Rigo with less skills.

if u cant see a class boxers like rigo then u dont deserve to talk about it
These are pseudo-fans and more yahoos. They are same yahoos who kept blabbing that Donaire would put Narvaez to sleep.
If you thought Donaire would win its acceptable, since in a close fight the bigger name usually gets the decision. But so many people kept talking about how RIgo was going to sleep early. Maybe all those threads should be bumped up.
The film is a bit idealistic and quaint at times. Stallone was inspired to write the movie after watching Ali-Wepner. Ironically, i saw the first two films a few weeks back and don't plan to see them anytime soon. Stallone's acting and speech is difficult to accept at times. Its a bit cliche at times.
However, i do like the original score and the concept is inspiring to some. Raging Bull was directed by Scorcesse who admitted he never followed much boxing did much better with the fight scenes.
Lara would get robbed, terribly. He'd win every single round but somehow get the worse end of two 118-109 cards and one 115-113 card.
THe decision would be in cuban words, "una barbiridad." I thought Trout won 115-113, or at worse 114-113 if i flipped the even round to Canelo's direction.
The scorecards clearly showed that unless Canelo was knocked out that Trout was not getting a win. I think he realized that but wanted the payday.
Boxing was going to protect the future cash cow Canelo. BTW, i still think Mayweather may fight him as Showtime will push hard for it.
I thought Canelo fought well, but i still felt he loss 115-113(114-113 if i switch the even round i scored to his column). I don't base it simply because Trout landed 30 more shots. For a good portion of rounds Trout outworked Canelo. Canelo may have landed the heavier shots in some of the rounds, but he remained inactive for a good portion of rounds. Sure Canelo looked well when he made Trout miss often, but he rarely MADE TROUT PAY. This is similar to Whitaker when he clowned around DLH and made him miss, you need to make the guy pay.
The scorecards were atrocious. Unless Trout put Canelo in a coma he was not going to get a decision. Even if you thought Canelo won there is no way he did it by five or six points.
I will be very surprised if Mayweather-Guerrero does more than 1 million buys. Poor undercard, mediocore bout, and bad promotion leading to the bout.
Also there will be so many fights leading up to May 4 that there might be boxing burn out. Not to mention that NBA and NHL playoffs will likely be competing with the early part of the broadcast.
My guess is that it will do about 800-900K buys. Remember Mayweather-Hatton did about 900,000 buys.
I hope you had good fire insurance after the house burn down. I had a major infestation in the garage in a house in FL and had to put stuff in storage, and that was annoying.
As far what to expect it depends what style Rigo brings to the table. Many people think Rigo will get KO, but if he keeps his a low stance and fights cautious he can last the distance like Narvaez. I was ringside when Donaire was taken the distance by the dimunitive argentinean. However, it might an aberration as Argentineans are among the most steel chin pugilists out there. Monzon was never knocked out in 100 bouts(only one knockdown in his LAST fight, Jorge Fernando Castro i think was stopped once in over 100 bouts and same thing for Nicollino Locche.
If Rigo takes chances he may get stopped by a left hook. My best bet is that Rigo's experience and skills will get him to the finish line.
I think they are the ones that annoy the fighters when they rush to put the corona hats on and stuff after the hard fight. All of the corona girls look hot though
LOL. I remember they put the hat on Canelo when he was only 19. But the bout was in Mexico where the drinking age is 18, so it was cool.
There was a very sexy corona girl i think in that bout, it was either the Cintron or Rhodes bout.
If you saw the post-fight comments after BHOP-Cloud in the BG you notice one of the camera man checking out the backsides of the Corona girls, LOL. The one that was off camera when BHOP spoke was among the best i saw.
I don't think much seperates the top 4 p4p fighters which are Ward, Mayweather, Donaire, and Marquez. I have Sergio #5. So i don't think having Donaire #1 is out of line, especially if he beats Rigo.
Ward: His pros are that he pretty much cleaned out the SMW division minus Bute, who i think we all agree he would have defeated. He beat the top LHW who came down in weight. I am a big Dawson fan and even if they fought at LHW the chances are Dawson was going to lose, but he likely would have not been stopped.
Cons- I guess people will say he didn't move up to LHW and show his skills against the best there. It is possible he can still do that.
My Rating: #1 P4P
Mayweather : The pros are that he is undefeated and by May 2012 he actually held titles in both the WW and JMW division. He is possibly the most skilled fighter even at this stage of his career.
Cons-Yes, he has not fought the best competition, and the perception is that he ducked opponents. If no Canelo in September than the Ducking stigma would further plague him. The other major con is that he has only fought once a year since his comeback. We will see if he actually fights in September making it the first year since 2007 that he fought more than once.
My rating: #2 P4P
Marquez: The pro is simply that in many eyes he beat the former P4P king twice recently. This was an incredible feat as Pacquiao pretty much dominated every opponent since his last Marquez match in 2008. Marquez also proved to be the King at LW and even added a fourth divisional title, although it was an interim title that was elevated to regular champ after Bradley was stripped due to fighting exclusively as a WW. I have seen close to 50 marquez bouts and he was only dominated by Mayweather. I thought he did beat Norwood by a point, and it would have been by more if a knock down that should have been scored would have counted, also had him beat JOhn (114-112 even with the 2 point deductions).
Cons: He is getting older and despite his KO win over Pac looked a bit slow, perhaps due to bulking up. It is likely that he may fight only once this year.
My Rating: #3 P4P
Donaire Pros is that he is a very busy fighter demonsrated with his four bouts last year. He won FOTY for 2012. Among the most gifted Ambidextrous fighters of recent times. Has won titles in three divisions, and a fourth interim title. Has won most of his recent bouts easily, only really tested by Concepcion in the last five years. If he beats Rigo than you can make a case that he is top 2 or 3 P4P. He still can climb more divisions.
Cons: Due to the Top Rank-GBP situation he won't face the biggest challenge in the SBW division which was Mares. Styles make fights, and i think Mares physical style and good chin would be more problematic than Rigo. Donaire at times keeps his hands down which allows him to get countered, however his chin has held up, we will see if it holds up against Rigo?
My Rating: #4 P4P (if he beats Rigo by dec than he will go #3, if he gets KO than #2).
LOL, i new something was going on this thread since all i saw all the views, but didn't check it out until now.
Very simply most here prefer tight and round without the excess cellulite and stretch marks. It sounds the posters here prefers stats more or less 34C-25-34.
T&A threads are comic relief and at least the race baiting was kept to a minimum.
As for Guerrero my guess is that he will get probation with community service as long he has no previous convictions.
Definitely?
Some people had Ali winning the first Frazier fight, but they'd just be fools. By any scoring criteria you want, Duran won the fight. Very few think Leonard won. Vocal yes, but not one really cares because it's just one of the stupid views. If you can't see who won, you can't score. It's literally that simple. Threw more, landed more, hurt Leonard more, got hit less, controlled the pace, controlled the fight, won more rounds and won them clearer.
Anyway, the consensus among the unbiased is a clear win for Duran. A tiny, tiny, tiny minority with whatever bizarre bias make no difference whatsoever to the magnitude of the win.
The minute few who think Ali won the first fight don't make an iota of difference to the importance of the win, 1) because anyone thinking Ali won is an idiot and 2) they are so few and far between it makes no difference.
I thought the margin of victory for Frazier over Ali was much greather than Duran's win over SRL. Frazier even put an exclamation point by dropping Ali in the final round, while Duran took the final round off to show off his slipping skills
I thought Duran did beat SRL, but by 1 or 2 points, and in a 15 round contest it won't be nuts without any knockdowns to think that the champion may have received a draw or a one point win. SRL after the bout took a vacation to Hawaii and many told him he should have retained his title.
I do regard the Duran win over SRL as one of the biggest wins in the last 40 years, but not among the top 5 or 10.
Not true, most people thought it was a close fight going in and many picked Duran to win.
Anyone who states that Duran beating Leonard was a huge shock should be immediately be put on ignore. RubenSonny is correct. In fact, some thought Leonard was going to get knocked out.
Duran WAS NOT pass prime. He was like 72-1 and just the previous year gave former WW champion Carlos Palomino a 10 round pummeling.
Duran had already fought as a WW and proven that he could carry his skills and power to the weight.
If you want to pick a Duran fight that was a great win and shocker than the Iran Barkely fight is the better choice. Barkely KTFO Thomas Hearns, a guy who beat DUran in two rounds, and Duran would beat Barkely at nearly 40 and capture a fourth divisional title.
