You made the same thread yesterday. Mayweather-Marquez still had tickets left but the PPV sold over 1 million.
Doesn't matter, this guy has such a passionate hatred for May that he probably gets off on this stuff.
Everybody seems not to have considered the several reports in the past that the reason the promoters are able to say that they have a "sold out house" is because that they often buy up the empty seats.
I mean that they pay the local seat tax of $5-6 a seat so that it is officially regarded as "sold'..... The only ones who are "sold' are the boxing fans who believe the promoters' promoting. It's a Golden Balls specialty.
All the indications are that this fight is going to bomb. When you have only 60,000 viewers for an episode of All-Access its a very bad indicator. If they kept Canelo-Trout on the undercard it would have helped it go over a million.
I had predicted that the PPV sales would be around 900,000 which is the amount that Mayweather-Hatton did, but now i will be shocked if it even does that amount.
The undercard is weak, the main event is bad, too many boxing fights recently, and they will compete with the NBA playoffs. If it does bad than maybe Mayweather will literally be forced to fight Canelo next.
This sites are quite greedy and am glad people aren't willing to pay those prices, these sites are quick to buy all these tickets at normal prices but then tries to sell them on for ridiculous prices, and it's not like you get to see the actions from where you are sitting.
Is this approach illegal in the United Kingdom? I'm pretty sure that people can't resell football tickets and I know that they were prepared to fine individuals heavily for reselling Olympic tickets.
Damn there's a lot left. A lot more than I expected. He better do good on the PPV. Rushing this promotion might bite him in the ass.
i watch his fights at the local movie theater, they jacked the prices up this year compared to last year vs Cotto. cotto/may tix were $15, they're $25 this year..
only thing I can think of as to why a lesser known opponent would garner higher prices is because they expect this to do significantly fewer numbers than the cotto fight and are trying to make up the difference
I said it once and I'll say it again. It's Mayweather vs Guerrero.
Floyd is not Tyson. Floyd needs someone that people consider a threat to help him sell a fight.
Id expect it will sell out either way come fight night, but lowering ticket prices doesn't exactly look good.
Showtime just isn't in nearly as many households. All Access is good but it didnt reach very many people.
There was very little promotion for this fight from what I seen. I did see a promo on a bus here in LA just the other day, but no signs.
They announced it soo late for a fight this big and it hurt them. Cramming a bunch of material into two months backfired or so it seems.
I'm guessing the the ticket broker gets a cut regardless if they're still selling them under face value. The brokers are only selling the tickets on behalf of the promoter as I understand it. It's less embarrassing for the brokers to slash prices than it is for ticketmaster to slash prices. As for the promoter, I think they just make less money than they would have at the higher prices.
Probably while they'll still continue to do it, they're really isn't a whole lot to lose for them. And they don't seem to care if they fight in front of a packed house or not.
Im pretty sure because most would ask for time off and get it doubt they get it the last minute and plus who the hell wants to fly out saturday and fly back sunday morning.
They aint gonna sell those ticket no matter hwo cheap they are anymore, 90% wont get the time off to go and 90% dont want to deal with the hustle and bustle of flying over saturday flying back sunday and back to work monday. too much darma.
This exact situation with me. If I could get the time off, I would've already bought my ticket. Selling all the cheap seats to scalpers is BS, they don't give two shits about the fans it seems.

So, the only people who might go are people who live so far they have to fly and they all work on Saturday. Hmm...
Oh I see. Still then, I'm glad the sales are shit. I doubt they'll learn their lesson, but at least it makes me feel better :lol1:
Does that mean they're losing money selling them at $146 now instead of at $200 face value?
I wonder what the sales are right now total. Floyd in front of half empty arena in his first Showtime fight isn't a good look.

I want him to tanked on both PPV & MGM! Guerrero was just an ESPN FNF Talent! It's a cherry pick fight! Even DLH don't put this kind of fight like this on PPV!
The only way you will be able to tell if this fight is not going to draw will at the box office live gate is the weigh ins tomorrow, if there are empty seats up top
The brokers don't actually lose money because ticketmaster (or the promoter) still owns the tickets.
