Russian system is known from being rigged, the American just have individual, separated fails, but not institutionalized corruption and cheat like in Russia so no, not really...
You also made a poll suited for your needs, that shows how insecure are you...
Why the USA (out of Oakland) isn't an option?
They can make by far the mot money in America and they both fought there in almost all their pro career. Kovalev fights in the USA since 2009, his first fight was in the USA. He lives in the USA for years now.
Nobody gives a rats ass there that he is a Russian, he became a boxing spectacle in the USA.
I guess it's just comfortable to scream hometown decision in situations like this.
this was a close fight, not a robbery, only some casuals and some *******s who can't process that they haven't got their way are crying about robbery.
Also idk why you called Oakland jOakland? You aren't mad at a whole city just cause a fighter you don't like comes from there are you?
How old are you anyway? If you're not under 18 with things like this then that's just sad. I'd think a grown man wouldn't spend his time making polls on the internet where he can only win and hates on a whole city cause of one man.
Really pathetic
Cause Kovalev landed more on the face.
But Ward worked more on the body.
Ward has bruises on his face... and Kovalev probably pissed blood after the fight. But we only saw one of these naturally.
five "accidental" headbutts
Ward was winning pretty easily even before the headbutts, he clearly seemed to be the better fighter
so... who the **** cares about his headbutts...?
what's your point
what's my point? unbelievable so you are justifying being a dirty fighter just because he was ahead on the scorecards? ward could head-butt your mum in the ass and you wouldn't mind it
from the standpoint of how good a fighter is he it's absolutely whatever cause yeah he was well ahead when the hedbutts happened.
What's your point if you are aware of that?
You posted that video like OP would have said Ward is the cleanest fighter ever and you would confuted that statement with your youtube video.
But OP didn't talk about how clean or dirty is Ward so yeah I don't get your point.
You can cry as much as you want about Ward being dirty but you don't prove **** with it cause it doesn't tell anything about how good a fighter is he otherwise.
Some of you fans seek for moral victories in everything.
I can see this as a beginning (or rather continuing) to building up and market the fight if it really takes place in 2017.
Canelo takes the Floyd route. Intentionally enrage some fans so maybe people who just want him lose will tune in for his next fight too.
He said some truth there by the way, other question how good that looks from Canelo after he got the chance to face Golovkin but he didn't... But as I said at this point this is probably intentional. Canelo is a good learner in the ring and it seems like in marketing too.
I doN't say that what he does is good and it definitely needs a thick-thick skin but I can see why he does it. He doesn't want to earn 2 millions with a Golovkin fight but rather 4 or 5 with playing with the fans' feelings.
on a way this is also kinda good for Golovkin because he will also earn more with t
It will make brook look better more then Golokin looking hyped.
GGG is legit
how is he not hyped...?
his best win is Martin Murray or Daniel Geale and he is named as top 5 P4P by most of the boxing journalists
idc about the "number of belts" I rather look behind it and then I see who he beat to get those belts. and I'm not that impressed by those names when I see them
and I also don' care about all the "shoulda-woulda" things about him being ducked and etc... even if he is being ducked, being ducked is not count as actual wins on resume
I doN't think it's gone **** and I'm pretty tired of listening the complains all the time
yeah, boxing has it's problem it always had, it has pretty much the same problems now as it ever had only the circumstances are different
We got many good fights this year and we will get even more
I know that there's no such thing to make a boxing fan satisfied but at least let's try to be just a little more positive.
And you also can't fight guys who are ducking...therefore, it's kinda tough to prove you're legit when the other champions and names in the division won't fight you...
tell me a name in mw aside of Canelo (who's still half super welter btw) ducked him and a win over him would justify Golovkin's name in P4P top 5
who are those elite fighters who would have been such a great achievement for him if they would have fought him?
yeah, thing is we have already seen Canelo lose...
Against Mayweather the other "hated villain" and it was 3-4 years ago. He can easily build up a villain persona after that...
An average Golovkin fan probably won't go back to watch the May vs Canelo fight again just to see Mayweather win easily, lol...
I imagine that the overlap between Mayweather and Golovkin fans is relatively small. (no not because race or etc... just opposite style of fighters), I'd think Golovkin and Pac fans have a large overlap so that's another reason why a loss to MAyweather isn't such a satisfaction to GGG fans.
IDK if Canela can effectively emulate Floyd's antics in boasting sales. Two different characters and background.
See... too many chickens and putos on Canela's Instagram account.
https://s14.postimg.org/8ri38ycf5/nelas_chickens.jpg
well, that's exactly my point...
he gains haters day-by-day and only if the half of them will buy hi next fight in hope to see him lose he will earn twice as much...
Plus the GOlovkin fight will be also much bigger once they fight.
View the fight like a pig. You feed it, feed it, feed it and feed it and when it's finally full sized you cut it and eat it. The larger it gets, the more meat you get.
Big fights are going by the same logic. They are marinating it intentionally to cash out for twice as much than if they would have done it like this September.
Their pig isn't big enough yet so they keep feeding it. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Golovkin and his team would also know about this and they also participate in the build up.
Of course as a boxing fan it sucks cause I'm impatient too and would want to see them fight now I wouldn't prefer to wait one more year or so but let's be honest, when it happen I'm gonna tune in anyways and that's the point for them. It's all business
I think one of the biggest misconceptions about Mayweather is that he wasn't popular and sold because he was hated. Mayweather was the most popular fighter in boxing, with only Pacquiao rivaling him. You don't sell like that off pure hatred. The crowds at his fights were full of oohing and aahing fans every time he landed a punch.
Also, Mayweather typically fought great fights that people wanted to see. That allowed him to keep selling despite the Pac fight not coming together. Yeah he had a couple Ortizes and Guerreros, but he never blatantly ducked anyone like Alvarez is ducking Golovkin.
I still see this as being the same angle. Of course the circumstances aren't totally the same.
and I also said that Canelo has many fans too
He's boosting his sales with this.
Old tactic.
Bring up another fighter's name often few weeks before your fight --> more people will tune in to your too.
This is good for Golovkin and for him too since Golovkin will also fight just one week before him.
He's building up the future fight to make it bigger and bigger.
tbh I wouldn't be surprised if the whole situation would be staged and it would be just the show. I mean I can imagine that Golovkin and his team also know abut this ad they already dealt the roles between each other.
They constantly talk about each other, Canelo tries to be more and more negative to contrast Golovkin's "good boy" role (familiar, huh?) .
Btw Canelo mostly said the truth about Lara, Golovkin's resume and the Golovkin v Brook fight.
Maybe it's not that complicated though and they don't build up **** just talk **** to each other cause they don't like each other, idk...
I don't know if what they're doing now will work. I think Canela was losing more fans day by day than gaining new ones.
Fans were even attacking Canela's and Oscar's social media accounts with chicken emojis.
The point is not to gain fans
how many fans do you think Floyd "gained" or "lost" with his out of rig antics...?
A huge portion of people bought his fights cause they wanted to see him lose. Canelo's angling for that too now. He wants people to buy the fight in wish to see him lose what they won't see against Smith.
of course next to that he also has many fans cause he is boxing's #1 name right now, aside of Pacquiao maybe...
Hopkins never had problem with punchers in his prime. The most problems always the faster, athletic/dynamic fighters gave him.
Golovkin isn't dumb but he is a puncher as well and he doesn't have the hand or foot speed, or athleticism advantage over a prime Hopkins so he doesn't have advantage over him in the things which were important to beat Hopkins. He has mainly power advantage over him but that was never enough against a prime Hop...
I don't se Golovkin winning this and frankly I don't know why anybody sees it like that. Like... what indicates it in the two fighters' past?
Don't let him setup and plant his feet..
Keep Ggg constantly moving, potshot him, and brutalize him when he gets too aggressive and overexposes himself.. Similar to what hopkins did to trinidad
Pretty much this
And moving laterally NOT in straight lines is also important. You have to force the fight to stay on the middle of the ring and avoid the ropes.
Also dominate his jab, constantly break his rhythm...
Fight from the outside or from the inside (you can switch it sometimes) but not from mid distance which is his preferred distance, the only distance where I saw him being comfortable so far.
He is strong and skilled but not fast, at some point this will backfire on him.
How you dare to compare a face first brawler Rosado to any version of Hopkins?
prime, mw version of Hopkins beat Golovkin btw I have a little to no doubt about that
much more accomplished and proven fighter with tremendous ring IQ and adaptability plus Golovkin just in't the type of fighter which gave problems to the prime B-Hop.
interestingly nobody was concerned about Mayweather's age when he fought well into his 30s but now wit Golovkin it's different all that sudden.
also Golovkin's style isn't based on athleticism and speed. Those are the fighters who burn out the fastest usually. Golovkin's style is based on his power and power stays.
So stop making excuses 1 year before the fight already...
Are Mexican boxing fans stupid? How the fok did a guy like CANELO end up as a superstar there?
he fought more time with much more serious opponents than many while his only loss is against Mayweather. Plus he has a fa friendly style.
That's how...
Everybody looks bad against Lara, idk how you can blame him for that. Pretty much the same is true to Austin Trout. He won both times though. Not by such a wide margin as some officials' scorecards suggested it but he won.
Mayweather also fought many good opponents, but he also got "crucified" for refusing to fight Pacquiao for so long. It's not just a Canelo thing to get criticised.
that was pure hypocrisy though because the May vs Pac situation wasn't only because of May but because of Pac too. Of course later on after Pac got KOd it was obvious that he is the B side so then he really wanted it but before that it was jut as much on him as on May...
All I say that boxing fans' memory is selective. A fighter can do good things many times they still get crucified if they do one thing what the fans don't like and they turn from good guys to scums of Earth during a minute or so...
Many boxing fans are extremely bipolar and the only thing which interest them is their entertainment nothing else...
Of course I want to see him against Golovkin but I don't make a clown out of myself to go on instagram and post chickens to his posts like some rabid dog...
Drake fans do such pathetic ****... Now apparently boxing fans too
I still believe that the fight will happen in 2017 they just try to make it even bigger in the meantime ad I think Golovkin's side also kows about this and agreed on this.
He has been doing it for 20 years man, hundreds and hundreds of fights, all levels of opponent.
He is doing a lot in there without even throwing a punch, constantly manueovering his opponent. To keep moving away from him for 12 rounds would be exhausting and unrealistic.
They can run from Gennady for a round or two, but eventually it takes its toll and they get snapped. The guys who have the most success against Golovkin are those who stand close in front of him and fire back.
I didn't imply that they should run from him, but circling on the outside with good lateral movement and not let him corner you can help a lot against him.
While he has a nice footwork I doubt that Golovkin could corner for example Ward or Mayweather the same way as he cornered his opponents so far not only because those guys oppose a much higher challenge to him due to their superb skills but alo because they have also very good, imo better foortwork than Golovkin.
On: Joshua so far but Wilder is also nice and Stiverne is a better win than any AJ win.
Based on eye test I say Joshua. Wilder has scary power too but he has serious defensive flaws... he was losing to Szpilkawhen he pulled out that KO of the year contender, decapitating punch.
But he can's wait to that happens every time.
He nicely outboxed Stiverne though but Stivrne is slow
It's funny how he didn't have to fight Lara, Trout or May but he chose all those fights despite his team didn't want them, but once he ducks somebody or maybe rather jut marinate a fight everybody wants to crucify him.
He's deadly accurate though, not much misses the target. It's also hard to defend against a guy whose footwork is able to the ring into a phonebooth.
Best way to beat him is imo up close, that's the only place I have seen fighters have any success against him.
yeah but take his level of competition into consideration
Just because he could cut off the ring from C or maximum B level fighters doesn't mean that he could also do it to the Mayweathers, Wards and Crawfords of the world. (P4P wise of course).
He doesn't miss much because he is accurate but also because he only punches when his feet are set. If you don't let him set his feet he would have a hard time punching in the fly cause he isn't that fast and that's not natural to him.
So basically you have to be able to move laterally, potshot him on the outside, dominate his jab and when he gets too close you should slip even closer, clinch and fight in the clinch up close. Then push and start it again from the outside.
It's not impossible to beat a fighter with Golovkin's style but his weightclass is pretty empty let's be honest, so nobody could do what's needed to beat him. Cotto's steamroll over Geale really shows how weak that weightclass is. Geale was an established, career MW (ok...foughtthere from 2007 that's a long time) and Cotto wasn't a big guy even in 154. He still beat him the same way or maybe even more than Golovkin did. I'm not implying that Cotto would have beat GGG but it really show something.
Lol no
Canelo is the biggest name in boxing rn aside Pac...
He is the obvious A side against anyone except Pac...
More people buy Canelo's fights so he is the A side not Golovkin. It's as simple as that.
Being A or B side isn't depend on formal things like who's the champion and it also doesn't depen on your personal like or dislike toward the two fighters.
I swear sometimes I think the majority of posters here aren't more than 18 years old
