Well, Joshua looks to be improving with each fight. His footwork, though still not great, has come on. Likewise his jab and guard.
Wilder, meanwhile... Hmmm. IMO, he's still very hittable and open to counters, and his footwork is all over the place.
Also, given that he had lessons, all those years ago, on how to box behind the jab, you'd think he'd have greater incorporated that into his style. Sadly not.
H2H, my pick is Joshua.
Wilder has proven he can go twelve rounds. Remember big buff roid physiques usually get tires easily because of how much they're muscles weigh
Going 12 rounds isn't impressive to me, it may be for those who have low expectations of top boxers. Back in the day boxers would go 40+ rounds and not long ago 15 rounds...
Neither has impressed me other the AJ's roided out physique.
Skill wise neither have shown anything against any notable opponents, obviously Wilder beating Stiverne with a easy UD is better than anything Joshua has done.
At this moment in time Wilder has looked bad on a few occasions and is a lanky power puncher who's favourite move is the 1-2.
AJ is a Mr. Olympia level bodybuilder/boxer who tries to mow down his opponents due to his size, strength and power advantage whilst looking suspect and getting hurt at times.
Imagine these two facing each other, all we'll see is hayemakers being thrown non stop until someone can throw no more.

Wilder had like 40 fights and has only one notable win on his record.
Rest was fat undersized dudes or guys that got paid to lose.
It's not like fighters in other weightclasses who are being avoided. No one is avoiding Wilder. Wilder is avoiding his challengers.
AJ is being build up perfectly, thats why he is a star and nobody in the USA even cares when Wilder fights his next fat out of shape opponent.
AJ by far the most impressive to me. 17 fights and fighting good opposition.
Wilder is turning 31 next month, already had 37 fights and i cant believe the opponents he is facing still.
Wilder can get some respect back when he faces somebody legit next, not fake call out fighters he wont be fighting anyway since he knows Haymon already has fat bum XY prepared.
I think Joshua's a massive hype job, but he's considerably more impressive than Wilder in almost every aspect excepting possibly his gastank (that's a question mark for now). Wilder still does the same amateur shit he did at the start of his career.
Joshua still needs that top level win on his resume but I have no doubt that if the two fought next year Joshua would dispatch him with ease. Wilder has actually regressed IMO.
How is anyone who averages 3 rnd fights and knocked everyone out boring ? You're sleep walking . How has he fought nobodies in just under 20 fights is a better question ?:pat:
its no win situation
Wilder has the most impressive relevant win but Joshua's skills and ring generalship impress me more and make me think he'll come out with a better career.
Joshua...and it is not even close!
I think fighting young hungry guys like yourself>fight guys who are getting title shots because they have the same adviser as Wilder
No disrespect to Wilder because I'm actually seeing some improvements from him but you have to as are those Legit Improvement or is that because his competition seems to be getting WORSE?
Who of these young champions has been more impressive so far.
I have to say wilder...the guy started boxing late(they both did), won a bronze medal and won a title as a pro. He ALSO fought a better opponent for his title.
He has faced slightly better opposition than Joshua
I do like Joshua's technique, his temperament and work ethic
Wilder is more of an athlete who chose to box but it impresses me that he makes the most of what God gave him to work with
if they fought today I favor wilder....3 years from now Joshua.
Athleticism can only take you so far in boxing.
Wilder has pretty much no amature background so id go with him, we know around here he will never get any respect no matter what but hes improved a lot and puts on good fights. Joshua is looking pretty good as well.
I would say AJ because considering that he had a decent amateur background & the obvious olympics gold he has come along to show good skills & discipline in his recent fights & not just go reckless.. His opposition is meh, but AJ wasn't any better than those guys in terms of experience, skill wise hell yes..
Wilder has been around for over 7-8 yrs & he did get a bronze in olympics but he has very less amateur background.. His opposition has been way less than ordinary for a guy with such an experience.. Of course you might want to consider he started late & is still learning the game, but he does few basic mistakes which might make him pay when he steps up the competition..
In a year or two when these 2 fight, I think the difference is going to be skill & not the power these guys carry because they will be obviously wary of that..
