Are Mexican boxing fans stupid? How the fok did a guy like CANELO end up as a superstar there? Weren't they supposed to have a big and proud boxing history? How can they support this guy, who only fights small fighters and now is known as possibly the biggest coward in the history of the sport? The guy is not even that good. He was an extremely easy fight for Mayweather and he lost to Lara and Trout (if you disagree, that's fair, but you can't deny that he looked bad) and he struggled against a shot small Cotto who had done nothing for years, except beating a onelegged cripple and losing to Trout. What's so impressive about Canelo? Even Khan was outboxing until the knockout happened, lol. The only thing about him that impresses me is his ability to manipulate his weight. Everything about him just screams "hypejob".
A Mexican Canelo in the wild is quite a majestic beast. Who can blame them.

WOW. Canelo looks huge in this photo. Unless it's photoshopped, he looks bigger than a light heavyweight.
He needs to fight him now... Golovkin is not getting any better at 34. Canelo won't get any better either, he reached his prime.
I know i agree. Doesnt make me stop being a fan though.

Actually it's documented that people of your skin color have the lowest IQ 85 to be exact and 70 in Africa
Dude. Joshua is the most entertaining fighter to watch in many years. People like to see him fight already. He's a big hit in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, etc., it's far from just a British phenomen. Whenever a Joshua fight is on, me and my friends watch it and have a good time with it. We find it exciting to follow his development. If he still doesn't fight quality opponents when he's past 20, then yes, people will start losing their interest. But he deserves the interest at the moment.
Your a lame dude you dont evennknow what your talking about the Mexican people are starting to turn the back on canelo, im Mexican and my favorite fighter is carl frampton, loma, kieth thurman, alan sanchez not just mexicans. Its pretty much like saying all black ppl only like black fighters, yeah maybe casuals but anybody that respects and knows the game will have a variety of fighters they admire. Dbag
People are stupid
Uk fans but bellew cleverly and anybody joshua fights
Americans buy mayweather vs anyone
Its not just mexicans...
/thread
Not really. Clverely is barely known here as is Bellew. I'd agree with Joshua but he has been marketed perfectly and did win an Olympic gold and now holds one oft he heavyweight belts, so there is a selling point.
So, with regards to this thread, Canelo was already a big name in Mexico, doing huge tv numbers from what I've heard/read, when he was fighting the likes of Matty H.
Tbf to Canelo, he has done a lot since the Mayweather debacle, with some solid wins and one controversial one over a future HOFer. The problem arises with his open ducking of GGG, then again, we know ethnic support overrides boxing sense.
Hes exciting when he fights. I dont like his current decisions but i know he will eventually fight GGG . the dude already has 40+ fights at 25. Its funny how you call cotto shot but you probably were praising him high when he beat sergio martinez...

Early morning and late evening are the only times you will see a Mexican Canelo running free in the wilds topless and without a hat and sun-glasses.
there's no way a casual german fan in a suit knows the top 10 of a division. they're just there for the event.
True, and the German promoters know that and take full advantage of it. That's the reason why GGG had to leave Germany to get anywhere with his career.
German fans are the worst in the world for blindly supporting their own fighters vs cans and either not knowing, or not caring, that they are avoiding the real challenges in their division.

they don't have anybody else right now with that kind of star power. or ability. canelo is very good.
he's just not as good as golovkin, his team knows it, and he's being protected. i think a lot of the mexican fans know it as well. the real boxing fans, anyway. casuals are casuals.
they just want to see a guy who they identify with win. they're like kids.

They just like Mexican fighters and pretty much nobody else, oh well.
:sombrero:
wrong.
I like Anthony joshua, Kovalev and Shawn porter They are some of my faves
Surprise, surprise. Yet another very negative thread started by BoxingXpert trashing a highly regarded non black boxer. That seems to be your specialty.
But Mayweather is a good fighter and he fought good opponents. Anthony Joshua has not even fought 20 fights yet, so you can't blame him for not fighting the best yet. He looks damn good so far, though.
Regarding Bellew, it's not like he's a big star in UK or something. I did get some respect for him after the Makabu fight, though.
You can't really compare them to Canelo. I've never seen such a hypejob and so stupid fans with such a low standard before. Okay, maybe except the time of Sven Ottke in Germany.

Everything about him just screams "hypejob".Mexican fans like a boxer you don't like so you assume they are stupid and you are just so damn smart. You say Canelo will only beat your countryman Smith by robbery. If Canelo needs help from the judges to win a decision over Smith that would be proof enough for me that he is an overrated hypejob. If Canelo dominates Smith and knocks him out that makes you the stupid one and a highly overrated {by yourself} hypejob of a fight predictor and self proclaimed BoxingXpert. By the way the punch stats show that Canelo landed more punches than your countryman Khan in every round of their fight. Canelo has no strange super power that enables him to manipulate his weight any better than any other boxer. That is just your idiotic fantasy. There was no reported fight night weight for his fight with Khan. Crybaby Khan just made up fight night weights of 158 for himself and an insane 185 for Canelo and you believed him like the dummy you are.I have never heard of an official fight night weight for Canelo any heavier than 172 pounds and that is about normal for a big Jr. middleweight.
Mayweather also fought many good opponents, but he also got "crucified" for refusing to fight Pacquiao for so long. It's not just a Canelo thing to get criticised.
that was pure hypocrisy though because the May vs Pac situation wasn't only because of May but because of Pac too. Of course later on after Pac got KOd it was obvious that he is the B side so then he really wanted it but before that it was jut as much on him as on May...
All I say that boxing fans' memory is selective. A fighter can do good things many times they still get crucified if they do one thing what the fans don't like and they turn from good guys to scums of Earth during a minute or so...
Many boxing fans are extremely bipolar and the only thing which interest them is their entertainment nothing else...
Of course I want to see him against Golovkin but I don't make a clown out of myself to go on instagram and post chickens to his posts like some rabid dog...
Drake fans do such pathetic ****... Now apparently boxing fans too
I still believe that the fight will happen in 2017 they just try to make it even bigger in the meantime ad I think Golovkin's side also kows about this and agreed on this.
It's funny how he didn't have to fight Lara, Trout or May but he chose all those fights despite his team didn't want them, but once he ducks somebody or maybe rather jut marinate a fight everybody wants to crucify him.
