To many damn in house fights..you have to be with a certain promoter to get certain fights...its bullsh1t....All fighters should be able to fight all other fighters without any obstacles..then on top of that you have the network issues....WTF????
Promoters and Networks have single handily sh1tted all over the sport i love..people who never laced up or even owned a damn pair of gloves have done this....We sit on here and argue all damn day while they extort and use boxers and fvck us as fans over and over an over again..
the free for all sh1t show thats developed is confusing fans
there is no narrative for the casual fan to follow
if there was 1 champion the casual fan could at least follow who the number 1 guy is.
fans wanna see :
- best fighting the best . fans dont even know whos the best because of the slew of belts . there was a period of haymon paying big money to fighters to fight inferior opposition - thankfully this has largely stopped .
- exciting fights. this comes from good matchmaking.
solution:
- in an ideal world theres only one sanctioning body but this wont happen . everyone should work together but seeing as that is unlikely - haymon should create a belt , not named pbc belt, and market it on tv, as the title that signals the best fight in the division. The Ring belt doesnt work because its given to the lineal champion who is not always the best fighter in the division. Haymon should give this belt to non-haymon fighters like golovkin.
there needs to be a storyline for a fight. the promo for the fights is awful.
floyd pacquaio was a 1 time thing. they both had legendary careers and were at the top of the sport for years. had huge fanbases, couple that with a rivalry and storyline , you have over 4.5million buys. thats never gonna happen again. is canelo waiting for the fight to get bigger or for ggg to get older? is khan waiting for brook to increase his profile or did he know its gonna be tougher as time goes on for brook to make welterweight? canelo smith being ppv is horrific. golden boy exploiting the mexican fanboys. i hope kellerman bashes the fight being ppv on first take but he works for hbo so thats unlikely.
letting the fight marinate should be a thing of the past before even more people become disillusioned with boxing
didnt they fight already???in 2015???
Thats not the issue and nor is it the question I posed in relation to your thread. Wana try answering the question again?
You're right, Larry.
Too much nonsense with promoters and networks not working with each other.
Riight. Haymon can't even make his fighters fight each other let alone add TR fighters from a long list of fighters not fighting each other in the Haymon camp. Keep diverting the issues away from the Haymon problem doe.
wasnt it your hero mayweather who said he wouldnt work with arum? that he would pay pac 40 mill for a fight without arum? wasnt it mayweather who said he wouldnt work with hbo?
werent u a major supporter of haymon and his pbc program? which has just made the whole damn thing worse?
if you are syaing u were wrong all along, I can rate you for that
didnt they fight already???in 2015???
Funny enough, a lot of people who trash Haymon/Floyd don't say a peep about arum and Pacman and all their nonsense on the other half of the equation.
That usually cause the Floyd fanboys to ardently defend their guy. Truth is, if both sides kept it real, they'd realize that both Floyd/Pacman and company ruined boxing and not just Floyd's side alone.
It's general knowledge Arum is a scumbag. What more do you want people to say? He's got this tiny roster in his stable and thus have no choice but to let his fighters fight each other. Bradley's recent fights for example consist of fighters like Marquez, Pacquiao, Provodnikov, Vargas, Rios, Chaves. Why because those are the ones available. In contrast, Haymon has all the stars he needs, yet he'd rather import guys like Bundu, Collazo, Zaveck, Rodriguez, Karass, Salka, Molinas, Diaz and all these cab driver types.
The in-house fights the TS is complaining about are not happening in the Haymon side.
That's what I'm not getting with these Floyd/Ellerbe/Haymon fanboys. They talk about fights not getting made because of the cold war nonsense. Yet here are former GBP fighters in Haymon's stable not fighting each other. Where are the too many in-house fights they're complaining about?
Don't know why they can't say anything negative about Haymon.

Just look at the list of possible fights that are supposed to be in the process of being made. It seems Haymon is looking for cab drivers for his fighters.
Haymon fighters rarely fight each other. Where are these in-house fights you are talking about?

Boxing may not be as big as it once was in the US and there's a number of reasons for this e.g. UFC taking a chunk of the fight pie.
However in other parts of the world like the UK, boxing is thriving it hasn't been so good.
I doN't think it's gone **** and I'm pretty tired of listening the complains all the time
yeah, boxing has it's problem it always had, it has pretty much the same problems now as it ever had only the circumstances are different
We got many good fights this year and we will get even more
I know that there's no such thing to make a boxing fan satisfied but at least let's try to be just a little more positive.
Is everyone done with the tears
The best never fought the best back to back to back its a fallacy it gets made when it makes financial sense. You look at any greats career and they only have a handful of meaningful big fights, Boxing is a business first and a sport second and since there's a whole bunch of different businesses all trying to make $ Your not going to get everyone on the same page holding hands singing Kumbaya. Everyone only looking out for their best interest. Boxing hasn't recently gone to sh.it it's always been sh.it. part sport part business part entertainment with a dash of circus & corruption all rolled together to make a heaping pile of sh.it.
But I follow it because I accept that pile of sh.it for what it is. Some fights happen some don't. Any given year there's only a handful of big fights because of how the business is set up and how rarely the top echelon fighters fight. But if your a fan of the sport this year there's been almost a decent fight(s) every week to keep you entertained with a decent amount of the best fighting the best a couple upsets and in November Ward/KOVs happening to see who the best in the sport is
Fans need to quit being negative b.itches who ramantisize the past . Boxing used to be the major sport so what so was horse racing it still generates hundreds of millions of dollars a year through out the world and is competing with probably 50 other sports and hundreds of different leagues. The NFL is the biggest league going right now and if your a casual and not aligned with a certain team the NFL might have 5 - 10decent intriguing big games for the year if your a fan of football then there's hundreds of games to watch but you'll be watching more Clevland / Jacksonville type of games then top tier match ups
Fighters have been avoided since the begining for a variety of reasons. Jack Johnson waited years,Murderers Row, Lamotta , Hagler & Macallum were avoided, Rocky avoided Clubber Lang , Sh.it Rigos getting avoided right now and you can go on and on. There's always been different entity's who didn't do business with each other. This goes back as far as the sport.
Can boxing improve, **** yeah there's a whole bunch of ways to do it bt this moaning , crying and threats of boycotts is lame. You don't like it don't watch it no ones putting a gun to your head on a Saturday and I doubt when you first started following the sport there was great matchups being made every week if your a casual there's probably only a handfull of fights that will grab your attention if your a hardcore junkie there's literally hundreds of cards that you can watch pick and choose
Sorry for the novel.
Boxing has gotten better, are you crazy?
Floyd is retired, thank god.
Wlad is out, Fury is amazing.
Kovalev verse Ward later this year. Glowacki vs Usyk.
Boxing hit rocked bottom on May 2nd 2015 it's going to take the top prospects to start fighting each other to get out of it but Floyd made a Blue print avoid the top guns till they age or beat the crap out of each other
Don't forget about the boxers themselves that are content to just fight mediocre opponents every time out rather than see who the best is and fight the other champs and best fighters in their divisions... Whatever happened to wanting to prove you were the best?
Fans should take control of the sport by not watching clear mismatches or paying for PPVs (unless the participants on said card are top flight fighters).
The only PPV worthy card this year is Kovalev vs Ward.
