Russian system is known from being rigged, the American just have individual, separated fails, but not institutionalized corruption and cheat like in Russia so no, not really...
You also made a poll suited for your needs, that shows how insecure are you...
Why the USA (out of Oakland) isn't an option?
They can make by far the mot money in America and they both fought there in almost all their pro career. Kovalev fights in the USA since 2009, his first fight was in the USA. He lives in the USA for years now.
Nobody gives a rats ass there that he is a Russian, he became a boxing spectacle in the USA.
I guess it's just comfortable to scream hometown decision in situations like this.
this was a close fight, not a robbery, only some casuals and some *******s who can't process that they haven't got their way are crying about robbery.
Also idk why you called Oakland jOakland? You aren't mad at a whole city just cause a fighter you don't like comes from there are you?
How old are you anyway? If you're not under 18 with things like this then that's just sad. I'd think a grown man wouldn't spend his time making polls on the internet where he can only win and hates on a whole city cause of one man.
Really pathetic
americans keep telling themselves that. The Perez-Booker just proved what horse**** that statement is.
Yeah its bollocks. America is not neutral for a fight between an american and a russian. Its pathetic to even imply such a thing.
FYI that was a local promoter in chechnya, which is very different to what happens in moscow etc. with major promoters like hryunov, stashkov and ryabinsky
i mean we could cite the various stories about andre ward's manager james prince and make the USA seem like a scary place too
you guys are f#cking nuts if you think andre ward's manager's conduct and the article i posted are in the same stratosphere.
you guys are also more than welcome to tell me where the fight should be, and what venue is a more neutral location for a megafight on PPV than las vegas.
perez and booker is not a big fight. it was an undrecard, and really it easn't even worthy of that.
if you think there's a more neutral site / a site and regulating body more fit to host the rematch, then name it. you need hotels, betting money, boxing infrastructure to host a fight of this magnitude. ward got a 5 million dollar garantee, ffs. kovalev fought in a small stadium in russia and generated a fraction of the revenue.
and there's this:
"That week I received over 200 phone calls, emails etc., a lot of them alluding to threats on Fres’ life, my life and our families if we didn’t go" claims Tom Tsatas Oquendo’s advisor. "I have reported this to the FBI and I have sent them the emails."
"They promised us everything to get us over there, but in the end gave us nothing," continued Tsatas. "Once we got there, everything changed. We were not allowed to leave the hotel grounds and we were only able to eat at one place inside the hotel. One member from our team was told in the elevator that if Fres knocked out Chagaev, none of us would leave the country. After the fight we took Fres to the hospital for a brain scan and then he, our promoter and trainer were essentially kidnapped and forced by men carrying automatic weapons to go back to the arena and forced to submit to the RUSADA drug test. And when we were leaving the next day, at the airport, our passports mysteriously went "missing" for over an hour while the promoter, complete with a firearm clearly visible on him, took us to a dimly lit back room and tried to renegotiate Fres’ $1 million purse by offering us a suitcase full of $200,000 in cash. Ultimately, to get out of the country, I actually had to sneak onto the plane using someone else’s boarding pass."
take it for what it's worth, but you don't hear rumors about jay z trying to pay kovlaev 20% of his total purse with a gun on him.

I never made a case for Russia, just saying Vegas is just as corrupt as most countries in terms of officials. I already told you in another thread that they'll go where the money is.

Kov is based in the US with a US team and promoter.
He agreed on the the judges and stated himself that he had no problem with them.
Ward has no ties to Russia so it is a mute point. The TS is still angry that Ward beat Kessler
vegas is not squeaky clean, but it's generally the most neutral site for a big fight on the planet

vegas is not squeaky clean, but it's generally the most neutral site for a big fight on the planet. they needed to get rid of robert byrd, he reffed that fight like an amateur fight when ward was hurt. and then when ward grabbed kovalev literally by the back of his leg he admonished kovalev :lol1:
still, russia is not fit for the biggest fight in boxing. it's just a bad idea. the state was indicted for doping, ffs.
It's funny because Kovalev fights worse in front of friendly crowds than he does when they all hate him.
Haha. Thats true. But then again its not like any of those fights was close at all.
He defies the old saying of fighting angry making a fighter more vulnerable. Which is yet another reason he should probably be favored in the rematch. Krusher feeds on hatred, both his own and others.
Very true. I think the rematch is even more appealing to me than the first fight. While everyone else wants to argue over scores we are overlooking the fact that we can have a legit grudge match at the top of the p4p list.
The Cleverly fight for example.
Epic :lol1:

Contractually rematch can't be in Russia or Cali. If I was a betting man.. I'd guess Roc Nation finds a way around it and stages the fight in Oakland.
Yeah the contracts state that the fights can't be held in California or Russia. It's probably going to be Vegas again due to the money but with a neutral panel of judges.
Roc Nation and Ward were reluctant to acknowledge the rematch clause so it won't surprise me if they did try to exploit some loopholes but I'm hoping there won't be any of that. Kovalev had a very strong case for winning the fight and should not have the odds stacked even higher against him in a return bout.
Ward barely leaves Oakland, there's no chance he's fighting outside the US.
Dude managed to avoid any away fights in the Super Six while everyone else had to fight in multiple countries.
no, but it's an interesting thought experiment to imagine the reaction if the first fight had taken place one oblast over from chelyabinsk and had all russian officials. i doubt that the people currently pooh-poohing claims of hometown bias would be so dismissive in that case
i reckon somewhere on the east coast would be best for the rematch, with neutral (non-american, non-russian) judges. not sure about the ref. i thought byrd did a fine job
Take it to msg or atlantic city.
It wasnt a big ppv hit and the undercards as a whole ensured it wont be a ppv next time.
This needs to happen end of march or april
Yes, that I was thinking as well - East Cost. But the referee and the judges shall be international, not American.
