Every person who knows boxing knows that Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler were elite level boxers, at least on the same level as Golovkin, but because of their losses to Andre Ward, many Ward-haters deem them to be overrated and never that special to begin with. Now, all you need to do is KO a lot of bums and then the casuals will say that you're better than Froch and Kessler, only because they lost to Ward. Well, guess what? Kovalev is gonna get schooled by Ward, every boxing expert knows that. And when it happens, I fear that Kovalev, like his fellow Ward victims, will be seen as overrated merely to discredit Ward. And people will keep saying "Golovkin is better than Froch, Kessler and Kovalev!", etc., etc... They would also say the same if Golovkin got schooled by Ward, which he would if they fought.
from the standpoint of how good a fighter is he it's absolutely whatever cause yeah he was well ahead when the hedbutts happened.
What's your point if you are aware of that?
You posted that video like OP would have said Ward is the cleanest fighter ever and you would confuted that statement with your youtube video.
But OP didn't talk about how clean or dirty is Ward so yeah I don't get your point.
You can cry as much as you want about Ward being dirty but you don't prove **** with it cause it doesn't tell anything about how good a fighter is he otherwise.
Some of you fans seek for moral victories in everything.
first, i didn't post the video, i quoted it. second i was laughing at the notion of "accidental" he can be as good as you say, i don't care, he still is a dirty fighter. :lol1:
what's my point? unbelievable so you are justifying being a dirty fighter just because he was ahead on the scorecards? ward could head-butt your mum in the ass and you wouldn't mind it

Ward was winning pretty easily even before the headbutts, he clearly seemed to be the better fighter
so... who the **** cares about his headbutts...?
what's your point

five "accidental" headbutts

I don't consider Ward one-armed in that fight, just like I didn't consider Pacquiao one-armed in the Mayweather fight.
Ward exaggerated the injury. Most boxers enter the ring with some kinds of injury. Mayweather had both his hands injured when fighting Pacquiao, so was it a 1-armed Pacquiao vs. a 0-armed Mayweather, lol?
Ward got extreme skills far above any other current fighter in the world. A two-armed Ward schooled a two-armed Froch. That part of being one-armed is insignificant.
Extreme skills above any fighter? Dude...Carlos Molina and Herrera have the same skill set....Ward is class and knows how to win but jesus he ain't anywhere near a Floyd level...
Can Andre Ward throw a four punch combination? Honest question..... Can he create an angle to land a punch or sell a feint to land a huge shot ?
A very very smart and effective fighter...but rather limited in ability I'd say.

Froch went life and death with Pascal and should've lost to Dirrell.... Kessler was beaten clearly by Calzaghe...
They were never the best and Ward ain't got nothing to do with that.
Agree with all the above but he really doesn't have much boxing skill which was demonstrated vs a ONE ARMED WARD. Like I said he's a massive over achiever and an arrogant prick.

1) Froch's height and reach are insanely good for a 168lbs fighter.
2) Froch got one of the best chins I've ever seen.
3) Froch got very good punching power.
4) Froch's stamina is out of this world, he's fully in the match from round 1 to 12.
5) Froch got the heart of a warrior. Never quits, always pushes on when behind.
Yeah, Froch may not have been the fastest fighter in the world, but he wasn't slow, and yeah, he may not have been a good technician, but don't say "zero boxing skills", that's just stupid. Froch had good timing, a good jab and he was a strategically skilled fighter. His skills were very simple, that's it, but not "zero skills".
Hate on Froch if you want, but he didn't get wins against Kessler, Pascal, Bute, Abraham, Taylor, Groves, etc., as a mere result of luck.
Froch's biggest weakness, at which he looks his worst, is when he fights opponents with significant speed advantages. Ward defeated him, Dirrell defeated him (yes, I'm not a fanboy), Pascal gave him lots of trouble, Taylor gave him lots of trouble, Groves did, etc.
A guy like Golovkin, for example, wouldn't have the neccessary style to beat Froch.

LMFAO at Froch being elite, he's an over achiever that's all, far from elite. Next to zero boxing skills, his chin, stamina and power save him most of the time.

The things you said are true. However, they are typical boxing speak. Every time a decent fighter knocks someone out or scores a couple of knockouts, the fans, both casual and hardcore, start declaring that person the second coming of Sugar Ray Robinson. They said the same thing about Pacquaio and Matthysse. Fans were wrong about both. They are also wrong about Golovkin.
Mikkel Kessler was an elite boxer until he became partially blind because of Ward's deliberate head butts.
Straight up cheat! But because of his colour it's called "veteran tactics".

"You do know Hopkins was 50? And slow as a snail right? People need to stop using old ass Hopkins as a guage. If ward fought like Hopkins did, ward would be more successful than bhop because he's much quicker, better jab and better movement.. would ward win? I'd"
I think Hopkins is more awkward than ward. He's not as slow as you make it out to be, even at 50. The guy kept his body in tip top shape and doesn't drink or anything. Hopkins was still a solid win for KOv.
Not to mention KOv dominated the fight in every possible way. Bhops corner should have thrown in the towel at the end. Took to many unnecessarily shots
Unfortunately that is still the image of Ward so many of us have. His first big fight and that nonsense happens. Like another poster said, Ward is far too good to actually need any of that fouling to win.
Yea, it's a simple minded criticism by those who have no clue what it's like to be in close quarters like that. If he were an intentional headbutter, you'd catch him measuring it like some of the more crafty guys.
What these clowns completely miss is that Ward HAS used elbows illegally and intentionally. It's pathetic that I need to tech these guys how to accurately criticize the man but if they're going to hate, they should at least do it in an educated way.

Kovalev doesn't need to cheat to win.
Kessler was an honorable man, he never used illegal tactics and a crooked referee.
Elite boxers win by fighting within the rules. Using illegal tactics is a sign of weakness and inferiority (or in the case of Hopkins, of aging).
You seem to always be full excuses huh?
Unless YOUR fighter wins then I guess nobody gets credit from you I suppose?
