If they were scared why would they have sent a finalised contract to be signed a few days ago? Hearn is a class A chump and in my view is bad news for boxing. But Wilder agreed to the deal, asked for the contract, they sent the contract. Wilder has already taken three days to sign it. You can't blame Hearn for Wilder not signing what he has asked for. What happened to get to this point is irrelevant. Why AJ rejected the $50m to fight in the US, why Finkel cancelled meetings etc etc. All that stuff no longer matters. What matters is Wilder asked for the contract, he has the contract. If he signs it like he said he would the fight can be made right now. If he takes his time and waits weeks you can't blame Matchroom for that. Greedy boxing promotor wants to earn money shock horror. If AJ is getting £20m a fight and he only fights once this year because they are waiting on someone they are obviously going to stop waiting. Sign the contract, get the fight on, and crown an undisputed HW champ.

Yet Hearn sent them a contract with no fight date. You justify that but make excuses for aj turning down the 50 mil he wanted Firstly the £50m thing. There was no official contract sent let alone a venue picked or a date... Secondly AJ doesn't need £50m. He makes a crap load of money whoever he fights. AJ made more money in his last fight then Wilder has made in his entire career... The facts are Wilder had a legit contract sent to him. It had all the details he requested in it. As far as I am aware this is the only REAL FINAL contract that has been sent to either party. You can't give someone a 100% final date and venue before the event is agreed. Events don't work like that. But even then everyone knows where the fight would be and everyone knows roughly when the fight would be. It can only be in the stadium in Wales as everywhere else is gone. And it has to be a minimum of 8 weeks for the camp and promotion. So end of September or in October. You don't need to be a genius to figure that one out. And lastly if Wilder wanted the fight, really wanted the fight. He would have signed it no matter the exact date or venue. Remember when the Klitchko's ruled the division? Remember when they would make the worst type of agreements for you to fight them? Why did so many people take awful pay days and go to Germany to fight them? Because they got a chance to actually fight for the belts and in most cases a lot of the belts. In sport you want to be the best and go up against the best to prove how good you are. Wilder has never fought another belt holder. Has never sought out to fight another belt holder. AJ has fought three belt holders in 18 months. That shows who is most actively trying to get all the belts. People need to come back to reality in regards to Wilder. He is not some PPV star. He is not some global mega star, he is not an Olympic champion, he does not sell out huge stadiums and most of all he has just one belt. He is the one who should be doing all he can to get the chance to unify the division. To say he isn't ducking because he doesn't have the exact day and venue is just stupid. Admit it if it was you or me, we were offered $20m, a chance to win every belt even though we know we would get our ass handed to us. Would we turn it down because we didn't know the exact date when in reality we know roughly when it will be and 100% know where it will be? We would have signed that piece of paper 5mins tops after receiving it. Wilder should have signed and gained the opportunity to become the man, the man that controls all the cards and makes all the demands. He decided against it.....

That could mean they read it on Monday due to the weekend or it was sent on Monday. Finkel said: "We have received the contract and we are reviewing it. We will update in due course as to the next step." That was on Monday. As I said above what happened in the past no longer matters. Wilder has the contract. He said he agreed to it and would sign it. So you have to assume he will do as he said. For someone to say AJ is scared when they have sent documentation to be signed which makes the fight 100% done is quite laughable.

And there it is, Wilder ducked the fight when given his contract. The two points were date and venue. They are the two points that his side wanted exact information on. The problem with that is you can't give him an exact day and venue because you need to organise that with whoever owns the venue. You can't book somewhere until you 100% know when that venue is needed. It costs a lot of money to book a venue especially one that is a massive stadium. At the end of the day AJ and co sent a contract. One that needed one more signature to make the fight. The issue is for some reason Wilder thinks he is the man and should be the dominant guy in negotiations. When the reality is he isn't. He doesn't fight on PPV, he doesn't draw much money let alone fill arenas with people. He will never sell out a 80k+ stadium. The money he was offered is probably 5x what he has earned in his entire boxing career. He has one belt, one and has never fought for another or previously looked interested in fighting for another. AJ like him or hate him has done the complete opposite. He earns huge money from PPV, he fills out giant arenas and he has actively looked to win more belts. He has fought three belt holders and beat them all. All of those within 18 months. Wilder never wanted the fight. He was more interested in posing on social media and putting delays on getting the contracts signed. He is either mad or stupid. You have a chance to earn more money than you ever have in your life or ever will again. You have a chance to be put in the world spotlight so everyone will know who you are. You have a chance to become the un-disputed heavyweight champion. The first in the US for a very long time. You will become a national hero, you will go forwards being able to command huge fees and become a star. All you had to do was sign the piece of paper in front of you. But he gave up that chance because he was not happy there was no set date or venue. He gave it up because he feels he is some megastar who deserves way more than what he is entitled to. It is a real pity for us fight fans that this fight could not be made because of it.

Isn't asking to see the contract to sign confirmation of actually wanting to fight? Think some people want to see what they want to see rather than what is actually in front of them. Wilder makes offer, Hearn asks for them to send contract or present in person, they won't send email nor meet = AJ is a coward......right

finkel has said he has the money secured and just wants to pick the venue Great. So when asked to send the contract or meet to discuss it they refused to do both, why? Hearn flew from England to attend 2 planned meetings to make the fight. Soon as he lands they cancel the meetings and won't send him the contract to read. That doesn't strike you as a bit strange at all?

They should just screenshot the email and have it done with. Just show us rather than keep telling us. Regardless of whose side you are on this is all stupid. I fail to see what Hearn could actually do if they won't meet them or provide them with details etc. He say's he replied indicating they are very interested. You have to call it what it is and that's Wilders group acting very strangely.

Madison Square Garden, on their official website, lists face value tickets for Joshua-Ruiz at $2500-$100 (with basically two thirds of the lower bowl still available for sale/re-sale, but that's another conversation, lol). Is it now your contention that tickets to Wilder-Breazeale at Barclays Center were priced $625-$25? Because public information already shows that tickets started at $65, and I'm fairly certain ringside seats got up to $1500 (can't say for sure). Just had a look as was thinking of going. Those prices are really stupid. The lower bowl as you call it I can't see any seats for $100? The sections cheapest that is available is $300+? With the sides being $700+. The cheapest seat i can find is $150 and that is in the nose bleeds miles away from the ring. Anywhere that is near the ring that is left is $2500+ and that is a complete joke. Wish i got a ticket earlier now.

so odd all these UK HWs are coming to the US when they fill 80k soccer stadiums and no one in the US really cares about boxing kinda odd huh? whats the fascination? I know you are not exactly the brightest guy here but if you were offered $80m to go to any country in the world would you take it? I think the more important question you need to ask yourself is why our stations are offering that kind of money to bring foreign fighters in? So why don't stations shell out that kind of money ? Back in the old days there were a lot more fighters with a lot more interest behind them. The general public would be interested in some of those fighters fights. The markets have changed now. There just isn't the same interest as before and there are even fewer superstars. The big money comes from being able to get the boxing fans interested but also getting a lot of casual people interested. Today there just isn't many of those kind of fighters around. Fury with his struggles, bans, coming back and beating (in most peoples eyes) the HW champion whilst somehow getting up when knocked out has given him a lot of exposure here. He has been in the news or in the media for so many reasons other than just boxing. He has created interest from non boxing fans. That is why there are few of these superstar $80m+ exclusive contracts around. Networks are not just going to throw millions at fighters for no reason at all. They expect something in return. That is getting numbers onto their platforms. And beating numbers of rival platforms.

What we know is it wasn't 50-50 and we know there was no rematch agreement. Meaning they both lied. Add to that the fact Warren and Fury had to get the authorities to order the fight, and then set the purse % with a deadline shows they actively tried to get the fight made. If Shelly and co were doing what they said prior to the 1st fight then the only thing that was needed was a venue and date. Everything else was agreed when the first contract was signed. So it turns out liars lied and people are actually surprised? All that has happened here is that Warren has trumped Shelly. If Wilder was offered $80m on the basis there was actually no rematch clause as they claimed do you think he would turn that down?! If I was Fury I would have done the same-thing. Get $10m-$15m for fighting Wilder and agreeing to all their terms again. Or taking $80m and doing what I want on my own terms? If Wilder did what everyone said he was going to do and blitzed Fury into retirement it would have been Wilder getting a huge pay deal. He didn't and the fact Fury has shows the networks have more belief in Fury to generate more cash than Wilder.

I actually feel sorry for Wilder and think the problem isn't him himself but those who are advising him. He is a HW champion. He has a decent personality that should help generate interest easily. He has the brash talking but also respectful sides which many top HWs in history have had. The problem is for whatever reasons the networks and the general public are just not interested in him. You have to ask the management team why? They have looked like a bunch of amateurs if we are being honest.

If Ortiz had come into the fight winning against good names and doing so in style I think it could have done ok numbers. But Ortiz struggled in his last two fights against total bums and looks shot. Based on that I can't see many buying it.

You forgot the most important option yet that’s barely a surprise considering we’re on NSB. Wilder wants to maximise his earning potential hence when he does sign he’ll be earning an even bigger fee than previously offered, that goes over your head because you choose to ignore it or don’t want to hear it, peculiar. As I thought, I guarantee the reason he turned it down was due to it being a flat fee. According to that he would have gotten no percentage outside of his fee unless more details come in later. You are living in the past my friend. That is not how these sub deals work. There is no ppv in with them. There is no % of ppv buys, no % of seats sold. You are given what it says you will be paid. Nothing more, nothing less. The ppv traditional model is dead. What we have here is a clear duck. He doesn't want to fight Joshua and if $80m won't make him get in the ring then nothing will.

If you think about it Ortiz has said he wants to be a HW champion. If he has been offered a rematch with Wilder then that is his best chance of becoming a HW champion. He doesn't stand a chance against AJ and rejecting $7m+ for that fight isn't because he is stupid. It is because he knows if he took that fight he would get battered from start to finish and his career would be over. Yes he would have made a lot of money but if his goal was to be a champion as he claims then he wouldn't become one going that route.
