Keep in mind, that's before taxes and team fees. Apparently, Wilder was guaranteed $20m and Ortiz $7m. If true, then where would that money have come from? Maybe it was those Al Haymon sus checks. At the time Joshua was trying to face Ortiz, Ortiz's biggest payday was $500k against Wilder. The pay he was offered, was 14x larger than the most he had made at the time of the offer. As for the training camp thing, AJ already had a venue and date set. Delaying the fight after having sold all those tickets, would've massively pissed off fans and fucked up the money. Delaying or canceling is the last resort. Besides, even Ortiz's team admitted that they fucked up, by turning down the the deal.

No doubt, from these two grandpas Povetkin has a better resume and is a better boxer. Nevertheless, both should be out of top 10 now.

Who has Povetkin beaten? No one. You give him credit for losing to Joshua and Klitschko but won’t give Ortiz credit for losing to Wilder. Povetkin's wins and opposition absolutely defacates over Oritz resume. Povetkin actually beat former world champs. Wins over Ruslan Chagaev, marco huck, charr, takam, mike perez, wach,and recently fury. Ortiz only has one decent win over jennigs 5 years ago. Marco huck only has one loss prior to losing to povetkin was a world champ. Chagaev only had one loss prior to losing to povetkin and was a world champ who beat an undefeated valuev. Huck was one of the of best cw's at the time who moved up. You mentioning a jennings win who was never even a champ and trying to compare that one win to povektin's resume is not only laughable it's insane.

It's hard to be impressive if the other guy is content to stink the place out That is true. But Ortiz has the chance to take on a number of credible opponents which is why I would like him to go to DAZN. Usyk, Joshua, Chisora, Hunter, Whyte, Parker, Povetkin. I would like to see him against any of those fighters which should help us gauge where he really is at. He “could” be a real top 5 contender but he hasn’t won any fights which suggest it yet.
