Dude these british commentators are pretty ridiculous.. After the third rd Chisaora had a couple hards body shots and the occaisional lazy jab but other than that only Usyk had crisp landing on target shots that hurt. I dont know what people were watching. He should have followed it up and taken to Chisora more to not leave it in the air at all but generally he basically owned it even if he didn't quite take it home in the 2nd half.
No he's the new Borat, though admittedly triple gees career is far more comical than Borat ever was
Daii what is this? You are just being facetious.. You know to opponents can both be good fighter at the same time?
What parallels do you see?
Dangerous european power punchers, Golovkin more decorated at amateur but both came up in the amateur system. Basically walked through and demolished everyone until losing tough decision fights in the usa.
Golovkin has the advantage of still having the prospect of avenging his loss at some point.
Yeah maybe I'm just young so I don't have that disposable income but I dont want to pay 75 bucks to watch Canelo beat a top 40 guy even if the weight class jump makes it somewhat compelling. I'd watch on DAZN for sure though..
First things first Joshua has to fight Parker and someone else Wilder/Ortiz/Someone else and Usyk do the Super Series first but, This is a very interesting matchup.. Does Usyk dance around Joshua and make him miss while making him respect his hands? Or is Joshua's size and power too much and he bullies and clips Usyk? This could be the fight of 2019! Would buy the ppv.
If Gennady beats Canelo in May
Fight Saunders for all the belts
1 more fight after that against a fringe contender
Retire ride off into the sunset
Sounds about right, would be nice to see. Maybe an up and coming gun or Jacobs rematch before retiring to cement the legacy.
Haha Boxing never dies. 2017 was an amazing year for boxing I felt. I am a young fan myself. It's popular in certain cultures but only the largest stars cross over into the mainstream, but is it dying? No a great new era is starting with interesting matches percolating in almost every division.
It definitely seems to have been Miller's tactic to break into the title picture and name recognition picture by calling out all the others fighters at the top of the division, insulting them, and behaving arrogantly towards them. It seems to have worked for him (In addition to his ability, profile, and results).
I really, really don't get the Joyce hate, he may not become a top champion but are you telling me he looks worse, less dangerous and skilled than Dillian Whyte for example? Granted he doesn't seem to have much defensively but with his strengths he should be a top contender for sure..
I'm a big fan but he's too small to reach the top at HW
I'm wondering if the fighters (really some of them the size of classic heavyweights once they size up a bit) can't put a beating on some of the big lumbering hws when they move up to the top. Between Hunter, Usyk, even Gassiev I think some of these guys could rack up some wins! A lot of these are actually Heavyweights cutting to Cruiser to start with.
No it was not invented by the American inventor Philo Farnsworth. Not that it really matters but if you are interested look up John Baird and Wladimir k Zworykin
There was a great play a few years back about the invention of the television called "The Farnsworth Invention".
He was like a farmer/genius basically. According to it he invented it but it was first put into production by David Sarnoff and RCA company..
Yes in a 1 v 1 fight most of the time a solo wrestler/grappler will beat a solo boxer/striker (provided the wrestler is tough and can handle being hit). In terms of fighting off multiple people in a street fight or brawl, boxers can do it well, grapplers may get hit and hurt on the the ground by other attackers. Now if a top class boxer has okay grappling, and a top class wrestler has okay striking, then it can be a fight. There are examples of both winning. Although typically the best strikers do not switch to mma whereas many top flight grapplers (the ones who like hitting and getting hit usually) often switch to mma. Both are good. I love boxing, “the sweet science” because of the culture, the lineage going back to the bare knuckle squared circle days, the prestige. I like mma for the different moves and seeing the top guys compete regularly. They are both phenomenal to witness. Depends on the fighter!
Top rank is the worst when it comes to this, however, every promoter does this. The problem is Alvarado is a punching bag for any one with a decent record.
Almost every fight this card was a mismatch lol.
And that guys is white privelag at its finest.
Who the fuuuccckk did Usyk beat that was as good as GGG???
Fuucking joke
Murat Gassiev. In Moscow. Mairis Briedis. In Latvia. First ever WBSS winner. Won all the belts in a division of sharks.
Great performance from Hunter like him a lot. Man Ustinov was tough.
Sky commentary team talking ****.. I suppose they don’t know any better about this tho..
