There doesn't seem to be any public interest in boxing now, nobody talking about any big fights coming up etc.
Have all the blatant robberies of late (Ward/Kovalev x2 & GGG/Canelo) finally killed the sport?... I certainly don't feel the same interest in it tbh, can't be f*cked to keep shelling out for pre-determined fights.
:lol1: All I know is, in that last round between SSR and Estrada last night I was standing about 3 feet in front of the TV yelling and jumping up and down like a kid with every flurry that both guys threw. So it's good to know boxing went out with one last hurrah, RIP boxing, it was nice knowing ya!
This x100. When boxing gets it right, it's amazing to watch. Unfortunately, the sport has been marred by marination and corruption, but I still watch for the somewhat rare, exciting match-ups like on Saturday, which are unmatched in any sport imo.
Boxing has it's lulls and ebbs and flows.
I don't expect casuals to sit through them all but hardcores should know the value of patiently following the sport.
Boxing will never die. Purest sport there is and it will always have an appeal.
A few weeks back 2 UK Youtubers had an amateur boxing match and it got 25 million hits and sold 8000 tickets. That doesn't happen if they were playing tennis or football.
that's tremendous. hopefully they both got bashed in.

Boxing rises and falls like any sport, even the UFC is having a bit of a recession after losing its stars.
Boxing is a much more pure sport with a great history and no other combat sport / organisation can compete with the pure finess and skill displayed in boxing. A lot of people still can't get into two oiled up men rolling around the floor with each other for 15-25 minutes.
It's why promoters try so hard to make the next big thing. The biggest stars are Canelo, AJ, and GGG just barely in the western market. They are trying to make Loma the next big thing too and he is on his way if he keeps winning in style.
Not sure if the Americans are going to break out, even if their resume and skill merits fame - for some reason the USA just doesn't get behind boxing like they used to, whereas in the UK they do. I suppose in the UK it's because they basically just have soccer, whereas in the USA they have Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, Football etc. etc.
Boxing is just a niche sport like golf enough fans to survive then every now and then a guy like Floyd or oscar or pac come along and transcend when there done it goes to what it is now until another guy comes along
Remember when the welterweight division was supposed to heat up after Floyd and Pac retired. The best were supposedly going to start fighting the best because they weren't chasing the big money fights anymore. Still the same old ****
Yes. Boxing is dead. I was just closing up when you made this thread. Let me let you out so I can lock up the place.
D- troll thread.

A front row ticket to Canelo vs GGG sells for $5000.00. AJ sells out huge buildings every time he fights. Mayweather made 200 million dollars fighting Conor. I don't think boxing is dead. HBO or Showtime has a boxing card on every weekend. Not bad for a dead sport.

Oh F___ off you bell end!
:wank:
Haha Boxing never dies. 2017 was an amazing year for boxing I felt. I am a young fan myself. It's popular in certain cultures but only the largest stars cross over into the mainstream, but is it dying? No a great new era is starting with interesting matches percolating in almost every division.
