No bait. Just honestly want to get opinions on this. It's been hard to get a read on how long he's going to stick around, if there's still plans for 168. If he'll defend for a while at 160. Or, just retire.
What's his 2-year plan?
No wrong answers here.
Edit; tried to add a poll but shyt didn't take. Anyway, would have looked like this;
-Defend @ 160
-168
-Retire
-Money fight$
i'd say after canelo he should fight charlo as a tune up/stay busy fight, then saunders. Then retire.
I like your line up, unless something unexpected happens in between, like Charlo not turning out a smart tune up. What if he loses to Canelo first?
I say fight these 3 guys and call it a career. I think he'll pick a loss or two in the process going through that.

To the Clark County mortuary after Canelo pounds his ass so hard he kills him.
If he somehow survives then the old folks home.

Nelo will take the IBF and WBA straps. WBC goes to Charlo.
BJS fights Nelo for unification.
That leaves Nelo vs Charlo for undisputed, and still could care less for the WBC! Suleyman gone fugged up
Golovkin will have no choice but to fight at 168, because his fans claim no "amazing fights" when in fact K2 now has "selling power to Mexicans" so Arum might be interested in Ramirez vs Lil'G in Vegas which is as big as Lil'G vs Eubank Jr...
Or K2 can go the easy route with Caleb before HBO decides to give Danny that opportunity first for a new 168 opportunity, which means Lil'G vs Jacobs 2 at 168 becomes more interesting...I doubt Lil'G takes that at 168 vs Jacobs, Caleb is less risky, and it's all about the "bid" for Caleb first...which Caleb already lost to Jacobs..
Lil'G vs Ramirez would be even better imho..been saying all along that Nelo vs Ramirez is a super bout too.
Lil'G fans dumb doe.... they say Lil'G isn't a big Middleweight... so they can tease the idea then that he's a Small Super Middleweight...
Don't worry Lil'G, Ward ain't coming back! Kova already got served, bigger threat.Congrats. You might be the king of a large group of GGG haters. You told us Jacobs would knock GGG out. Then you told us Canelo would knock GGG out. when it comes to GGG you are consistent. Consistently wrong that is. I doubt Giant GGG ever spent a single minute worrying about lil' W. GGG is still the champ and Ward doesn't want to fight anymore.
I am not sure. He is 35. His haters like to say he is still in his prime so if he loses they can say the best GGG lost but nobody is in their prime at 35. He is a natural middleweight so if he beats Canelo I doubt he moves up to 168. Why should he? Middleweight is a traditional weight class with a rich history. He still has work at 160. He can try to win the final belt from Saunders and rematch Jacobs and fight Jermall and Andrade. If he beats Canelo in a close fight a third big money fight with Canelo is possible. He might fight for two or three more years but every fight might be his last fight. It depends on how he performs. He has been a winner his whole fighting life. If he starts losing fights I think he will retire. He might also retire undefeated in a short time if he has enough money and is tired of trading punches for a living.
If Gennady beats Canelo in May
Fight Saunders for all the belts
1 more fight after that against a fringe contender
Retire ride off into the sunset
Sounds about right, would be nice to see. Maybe an up and coming gun or Jacobs rematch before retiring to cement the legacy.
I would not be at all surprised to see Golovkin beat Canelo (a second time) and then destroy Saunders, who looked great vs a short armed fighter with poor footwork, then retire. Beating Jacobs a second time would be no small feat, without the knockdown I thought it was a draw the first time.
yup after nelo no more big punchers after jacobs 2 or 3 fights w- canelo that will add up to a lot of leather bjs would be perfect light hitter make good money going to england and no danger of getting brain damage.i dont see him going after big punchers like charlo or deryvichenko, maybe arum makes him a good offe3r to fight zurdo if zurdo continues undefeated looking to add ggg name to resume i think ggg would take that fight if good money is offered seeing how zurdo doesnt sit on his punches much anymore.
depends on the purse they can get outta golden boy,if he gets the amount hes happy with could take a couple of easy defenses brak b'hop record and retire dont think hell give charlo a shot maybe go for saunders thats if he beats canelo.if he gets good money but loses vs canelo bjs will be allover him maybe goes that way for a quick title try win or lose i really dont think hell be active in 2019.thinking he goes the chino maidana rout not that abrupt but after to big paydays really inclining to retire he has taken lot of punishment in his last 2 fights hard shots from hard punchers think win or lose hell get hit more than a few times in the rematch hell go with soft touch then rwtire dont think he will fight any of those young up and coming middleweights the charlos and dereyvichenkos or whatever his name is canelo will be ggg last real risky fight.
Depends on two things, how much he has left and the outcome of his rematch against Canelo. If he wins the rematch then I could see the BJS fight going on. Or I could see him moving up to 168 for lucrative fights. If he loses then I could see him having another one or two fights and retiring.
He's never had problems making 160, and168 has nothing right now. If a winner of WBSS emerges and it's impressive, then that can be a great fight.
If he beats Canelo, he needs to fight Saunders to unify, then make 5 good defenses. Jacobs rematch, Charlo, Derevyanchenko. Maybe fight Canelo 3rd time?
This response will likely get a lot of hate, but it's becoming obvious enough in his last few performances that there was a reason why he was matched the way he was matched for so long.
Believe it or don't, Billy Joe Saunders is a nightmare style matchup, made worse with the fact that he's just physically peaking and that he's made the change to Ingle's Gym in Sheffield.
If Golovkin beats Canelo, I see the middleweight belts going vacant almost immediately, as Golovkin tries for a third fight with Alvarez ("Ring Magazine title is the true recognition" or some other bull****) or hope that Groves or Eubank Jr wins the WBSS and is willing to travel to Las Vegas to fight him.
If Golovkin gets beat, he'll still clamor for a third fight and if that were not to materialize, would likely test out his draw value in Europe ("fight in Kazakhstan" but have the camp keep the eye on what the Russian and German TV money is looking like).
