I've always liked the double left jab, then a straight right hand that's followed by a left hook. You don't see it very often in today's boxers, but fast handed fighters like Muhammad Ali, Oscar De la Hoya, Roy Jones Jr., and Money Mayweather kept this combo in their repertoire. That hook always catches them as they're straightening up, if they happen to slip the right hand...BOOM!
In the WW division right now, I think Spence AND Crawford are above Pacman. Freddie Roach/Team Pac don't seem very interested in making these fights. Both would beat Pac at this stage of his career. Arum didn't want to put the bout together when Pac & TC were with Top Rank. Lots of money to be made though with the PBC boys, Spence - Pac - Porter - Thurman - Garcia - Ugas - M. Garcia (maybe). Spence-Pac will happen if the money's right though, and it will be.
Event organizers had to get off their a$$es and set up the fight after Prograis threatened legal action! Good move on his part, and now we get the fight.
GGG was in a different weight class then canelo who was fighting at 154 ...cotto was just 35 wen canelo fought him not over 35
You can't knock canelo for fighting some people over 35...floyd fought mosley when mosley was 38 also fought manny when manny was 36
Is the narrative different now since it was floyd
The difference is that Floyd was OLDER than Manny! Stop hatin'. The main reason boxers are begging to fight Floyd is bc he's 42 years old right now.
Canelo had lots of trouble w/Lara, so he'll just fight old guys or no-hopers until retirement.
Is it possible that the man simply changed his mind? Training camps are very difficult and if your heart's not in it 100%, then you're risking a loss AND your health. A healthy Floyd beats Pac again, but at 42, I personally think it's family time! Hopefully, Pac is retired and living his best life with his family at 42 also. Both are ATGs.
Kovalev is in the twilight of his career (the reason Canelo wants to fight him), while Yarde is young and powerful, but still inexperienced/raw. AY makes mistakes and if Kovalev still has decent reflexes, then Krusher should prevail. I question just how much heart Krusher has left for boxing. Yarde has holes in his defense and throws wide power shots, but is a live dog in this one though. This is a pick'em fight ( 50/50 ) to me. Kov in his prime destroys Yarde, but this version of him may succumb to Yarde's sheer determination/power.
Oscar would lose at least two of those matchups. While being better than average, Oscar was never an ELITE fighter! He's more distinguished as a promoter. Oscar had a career record something like 39-6, with each loss coming when he stepped up against an ELITE fighter. Look at his losses ; Trinidad, Mosley (2), Mayweather, Hopkins, and Pacquiao. IMO, like I said, I thought he was very good, but not ELITE.
^^ classic example of a casual, boxrec warrior right here.
Novice lol
Sorry FD, I don't have to look at box rec. Knowledgeable fans don't need to look up things on boxrec. I simply gave my opinion, having ACTUALLY watched all those fights. I was watching boxing when it was on NBC and ABC Wide World of Sports fool. I remember Holmes/Cooney little boy. You were probably still swimming in your papi's nutsack back then.
You asked and answered your own question, same deal with Floyd they all want that money and scalp.
Perfect answer! It is PRIZED FIGHTING after all. Since it doesn't look like Floyd's coming back everyone's going after the current cash cow.
RJJ was THE MAN! Can't blame him on that one. Roy weighed only 193lbs for the Ruiz fight and looked very small. The other HW champs were too powerful for Jones and he knew it. He only took the Ruiz fight to make history because John was the weakest of the HW belt holders. Same thing Canelo has been doing lately.
Can some of you boxing fans enlighten me on something? I thought John "Quiet Man" Ruiz was the first fighter of Mexican lineage to be heavyweight champion.
Is Ward an active boxer? Because I thought he retired years ago?
Smart man right here! You can't duck someone if you've been retired for years and aren't returning to the ring.
Floyd said on his Instagram he is working on an exhibition bout in Japan vs Pacquiao.
First he waited until Pac wad past prime to fight him and now after he beat Broner and undefeated Thurman he doesnt want that work.
An exhibition means he wont lose his 0. What a punk.

Are you going to hate on Pac with the same energy if he agrees to it?! It takes two.
The best fighter in the world is betting favorite, what a ******ed fanboy you are, youre saying Manny was no risk, Oscar, Mosley, Hatton, Canelo no risks, just shows how good Floyd was he was on top for 20yrs and beat the best fighters in the world and made it look easy.
Thank you! Saved me some time saying it!
I think Canelo at 160 obviously, ODLH wins a razor thin SD at 154. Oscar was at his peak at 147 and there I think he damn near kills Canelo...too much speed and skill.
