Would a prime De La Hoya beat a prime Canelo?

Canelo/Lara 155 Oscar/Hopkins156. Oscar beats Canelo at 155. The only true 160 fight for Oscar is Sturm, just not a big sample size to come up with a conclusion. Oscar cleans the canvas with Canelo at welterweight. Oscar is basically an oversize 135 like Crawford moving up and bringing the little man skill with him. Power carried up well too.

At 147 and 154 Oscar De La Hoya would beat Alvarez. Better Jab, better combination puncher, better endurance, more gears, and most likely hits harder with his left hook etc. Good solid durability. Really top durability.

At 154, the only natural jr middle that DLH beat was vargas after trinidad busted him up. Everyone else DLH fought at 154 were smaller guys who moved up. Canelo struggled to make 154. Which is why he would try to fight at 155lbs. At both 154 and 160 he had stamina issues. I'm outta my mind for giving My Opinion ? Check yourself b*tch !

oscar was a true warrior who fought everyone. I can imagine that maybe some of his frustration with Canelo not willing to do the same. Could Canelo be a prime Oscar De La Hoya? Oscar was very very good with Floyd sr at 154. But he’d really have to put together a spectacular performance against such a defensively responsible canelo. That’s 55/45 in favor of canelo IMO. At 160 I think canelo wins a competitive UD. I just can’t help to think of Oscar’s lifestyle and I think a body puncher as committed and sharp as canelo gives him all types of fits

Fishnets laHOya would not be knocking out canelo at any weight class. With clenbuterol, CLOWNELO is ABSOLUTELY UNBEATABLE AT ANY WEIGHT.

Most in here seem to think Canelo beats him at 160. I don't think so. Just because Bernard Hopkins beat him at middleweight doesn't mean Canelo would beat him. Two different kinds of boxers and Bernard is much bigger than Canelo. I think Canelo at 154 gives him more problems than at 160. You can't do that high guard walk down s/hit on ODLH. He's simply way too active on the exchange for Canelo to edge a decision like he has done with GGG and Kovalev. I think Oscar can beat him at either weight. I don't think it's a wash out though. Canelo isn't a slouch but I give Canelo a bigger chance to win at 154 than 160. But I would favor ODLH at either weight class over Canelo. Prime for Prime. Or even the ODLH version against Sturm and BHop @160 and the ODLH that beat Vargas @ 154.

Hopkins stopped him with a body punch. I think Canelo would beat Oscar at 160 and is a better fighter than Oscar ever was. Canelo could KO him with a body attack in my opinion Canelo is punching very hard and damn near took Kovalev's head off. It's getting closer but Oscar started his career at 130lbs, accomplished more and had a better resume, but obviously Canelo is still active.
