I’m not sure the Oscar who fought Floyd beats Manny either. He just didn’t have an answer for Manny’s speed and explosiveness at that juncture of his career. Remember Manny came up two weight classes from LW as well.
Manny came up 3lbs real weight to fight Oscar, and Oscar came down 20lbs real weight to fight Manny, fight night weight is the weight they trade blows at, Manny has been between 141-144 fight night since he was making 130.
Floyd out speed Manny so Oscar wasnt going to outspeed Floyd, the difference in the two Oscars is power, pressure, punch resistance and snap, when your dry out like a prune you have no snap, no explosive speed and resistance .
Read it again Manny came up 3lbs, Oscar came down over 20lb !

Sorry FD, I don't have to look at box rec. Knowledgeable fans don't need to look up things on boxrec. I simply gave my opinion, having ACTUALLY watched all those fights. I was watching boxing when it was on NBC and ABC Wide World of Sports fool. I remember Holmes/Cooney little boy. You were probably still swimming in your papi's nutsack back then.
It’s splitting hairs. Either way, judges at ringside see and score fights according to who they think is doing more to win. Ring generalship is considered among judges. There is a lot of subjectivity in scoring, which would explain many of the robberies and outrageous decisons over the years. Look at Byrd, Ross, Clements as examples of incompetent and/or corrupt judges.
That’s true there have been some horrendous decisions in boxing. Which kinda is why people believe sometimes judges are paid off especially for certain fighters who always seem to win every close round and are always given then benefit of the doubt.
How does Oscar stack up against these fighters?
Loma @ 130/5
Mikey @ 135/140
Spence @ 147
Crawford @ 147
Canelo @ 154
Cotto @ 147
Beats all of them. ODLH is the perfect fantasy matchup fighter because he had no real flaws in the ring, all his flaws were outside of it.
Let’s break down those losses. He was robbed in one fight against Mosley. I felt he beat Floyd 115-113–and that is past prime Oscar, he had Tito beat but chose the wrong strategy in the closing rounds, and he was washed up against a prime Pacquiao. Hopkins was a large MW, much bigger than Oscar. He was elite in his prime, no doubt.
Wtf, were you that one judge that gave the fight to Oscar?
Hahahahahahahaha hahahahahaha
Hell no!!!!
Dude is a midget compared to Oscar who in his prime was skilled, fast and can knock down a wall with that left hook, he takes Lomas Head clean off.
Loma out of all the guys mentioned actually has the least chance at beating Oscar followed by Mikey.
You must believe in magic if you think Oscar could beat Loma at his best weight. Oscar at 130 without 24 hours to rehydrate would struggle to even climb into the ring.
Yes I did mean judge sorry about that. And look up actual scoring criteria in professional boxing not hbo’s lederman or lampley version but actual professional boxing in America. Effective aggressiveness not aggressiveness key point.

Referee? Did you mean judge? For one thing it was a close fight, so I’m not sure why you would be so appalled that I score it in favor of Oscar. But, it’s a good thing you aren’t a judge, because activity and aggression sure do count in the eyes of judges. Unless of course you go strictly by punch stats, which is flawed and not the end all be all to judging fights.

Good thing your not an actual referee. Explain how you came to that score under the unified rules of boxing and please don’t say activity or aggression because that’s is not actual scoring criteria. I’m not trying to be funny I’m just curious.

It was insane that Manny was campaigning at 130, then moves up to 135 for one fight and was immediately challenged by Dela Hoya at 147. He technically moved up three classes to fight Oscar. Crazy.
The weight killed Oscar against Manny, if the fight was at 154 it would have been an entirely different fight where Oscar is strong and has resistance, going from being 20lb heaver than Manny on fight night , to what happened a 2lb lighter than Manny fighter,.
It amazes me the way Manny fans side step the dead man walking that was Oscar, worst case in history of a drained fighter in such a big fight , Dawson Ward runs second followed by Leonard Lalonde.
The 163 lb version of Oscar that Floyd scraped by would have beat Manny in my view.

Can’t blame Pac for Oscar looking like death at 147. Oscar was at 147 for a fight with Floyd in September, Floyd retired so Oscar hung around for several months at a weight he could no longer sustain. I really believe it was more than just fighting at 147 that wrecked Oscar.
That said, I’ve heard few, if any fans, who don’t acknowledge Oscar’s dreadful condition that night.

P4P oscar beats any of them... now oscar at 154 wasnt really great there...
imho prime oscar was better than prime floyd...
Good thing your opinion doesn’t count.
Oscar would lose at least two of those matchups. While being better than average, Oscar was never an ELITE fighter! He's more distinguished as a promoter. Oscar had a career record something like 39-6, with each loss coming when he stepped up against an ELITE fighter. Look at his losses ; Trinidad, Mosley (2), Mayweather, Hopkins, and Pacquiao. IMO, like I said, I thought he was very good, but not ELITE.
