I also agree that Oscar should be ahead of Trinidad. Even though he boxed or ran the last 4 rounds it doesn't change the fact that he won at least 8 of the first 9 rounds
The lists are pretty accurate and for the most part you did a good job but the second you put Pac over Money you lost credibility. May won 9 out of 12 rounds against PAC and retired undefeated, PAC was a great fighter but clearly inferior to Money
How can you compare a middleweight to a welterweight, its like saying Joshua would beat Andre Ward, obviously but it doesn't take away the fact that Ward is a better fighter. Canelo was badly outclassed by Mayweather, could have lost against the Cuban, and should have lost against GGG.
He knows, if he loses, all his money is out the window because he could no longer be marketed as undefeated, so he will only fight when he feels he could win
No version of Hamed ever beats Barrera. Barrera had mad boxing skill and wasn't at all intimidated by Hamed or anyone for that matter. Hamed actually seemed intimidated by Barreras aggressiveness during the fight.
Bad analogy, Margarito was never much of a boxer, GGG was a fantastic amateur and has great boxing skill with a great jab and good footwork. Margarito was a face first brawler with a great jaw great stamina but limited skill
I was also watching it with a bunch of Mexicans (my huge family) they all though GGG got robbed except my pops, he was drunk as you can imagine. We Mexicans are proud people and know boxing. Canelo is a good fighter but that is all.
The way his body looks, I think he put on too much muscle from the last fight it can come back to bite him at the end because muscles need more oxygen, hes probably going to gas out quicker, he should have just stuck to cardio mostly as he is already large enough, and stategy.
Easily one of the best, rare combination of speed, power, accuracy, timing the fact that he was able to carry that power for so many divisions is unbelievable and this is coming from a Mayweather fan
Key to the fight: will Canelo be able to handle GGG s power, we know GGG will handle Canelo as he was able to take some bombs from a pretty much light heavy Jacobs. If he can take GGG s power than he can win by crafty boxing and using proper timing and outpoint him. I think he will be broken down though because he has never faced this kind of power from a bigger opponent .
First of all Canelo didn't beat him second of all, although hes the better technical boxer, he gasses out quicker that most championship caliber fighters
I am literally shocked that this thread actually exist, if the fight lasted this long its only because May actually allowed it, its embarrassing that a 40yr old would have better conditioning that a 29 yrs old. Money is the best fighter of his generation but hes forty now if you get a Canelo or Triple G against Connor, he wont make it past he 2nd
GGG- JAB JAB JAB, use distance and wear him down with hooks to the body
CANELO- Don't engage in a war only counter, use superior speed, pace yourself and take it to the cards
GGG can make the fight easy if he sticks to his jab as it will open up other opportunities, hes got the best jab in the game and is taller, only way it becomes close is if he gets careless and goes in like he did with Kell Brook as Canelo is faster and a good counterpuncher
And for those who say losses don't tarnish you, I say, If Roy Jones would have retired after he won his heavyweight fight he probably would have been considered the best fighter ever at least top 3 all time
