Best? No. Most underrated? No question about it.
^^^^ this. This fight is a complex one to me.
Marquez moved up two weight classes
Was #2 P4p in the world at the time
Already Hof caliber who depending on who you ask hadn't really lost a fight up til that point or at least were close decisions.
Floyd coming off a two year retirement.
Injured rib that kept him out longer
Missed the catch weight, but still came in at 146 a pound under the ww limit.
Even tho Floyd coming off retirement should've had some ring rust, he was phenomenal. He didn't impose size he imposed skill. Marquez had NO answers and the fight was almost called off around the 10th or 11th Rd. Its really underrated to an extent to me. Because think of it this way....had Marquez won how many people would contribute it to Floyd's injured rib and two year lay off?
There are so many to choose from. Marquez was a good win, not the best. The schooling of Corrales and Canelo were my favorites. To me, Floyd looked the most complete in the Ortiz fight, and in his prime. His movements were amazing. I wish that fight went on. Ortiz was ready to quit.
The Pac fight was the easiest and the most boring of all.
Corrales. Undefeated, in his prime, total and complete annihilation.
This. Back when FM was PB and Corrales was a major name. Made it look like childs play.
I would say no to be honest because like many have already stated, Marquez ballooned up to welterweight and Floyd still had a weight advantage. It was an uneven match-up, not Marqez at his best.
most of you people genuinely know nothing about boxing, and are unfit to put a fighter's career and accomplishments into a historic context or evaluate them.
I think Hatton is a good shout as well. Already a multi world champion in different weight categories and was undefeated at the time who was destroying everyone.
Most people don't even give Floyd credit for that fight. It's not his best win. Maidana I was a great fight. Probably not his best win but one of my favorite fights. I really like the Ortiz fight until the bad ending.
Yes it was! I wouldnt have minded a draw just to see what it wouldve brought out of Mayweather for the second fight. A close win just had him fighting more cautious the second fight but this was a great fight, Floyds no punk.

Dumb thread. Marquez came up two weight classes while drinking his own urine to fight Floyd at a catch weight that Floyd didn't even make. Refused to be weighed day of fight too. It wasn't the same roided up Marquez who KO'd Pac.
Considering how he completely dominated the excellent Marquez it might be his best win or one of his best performances. Mayweather has so many good wins over so many years from 130 pounds to 154 pounds that it's hard to single out one best win.
come on man. marquez came up two weight classes and floyd still missed weight to get an extra advantage. And he couldnt even stop him with a huge size advantage. i know people love the 'pretty boy' era but i think canelo is his best win, a complete schooling against a bigger guy who many thought had a legit chance to beat him. Pacquiao wasnt a shot fighter but it was clear he had slowed down so i dont see that as his best win.
his best win was a drained fighter? hmm suspect career
