Sick of this retardation.
Canelo Khan was a 65/35 split in favor of Canelo. Base purses of $2million for Khan, $3.5million for Canelo plus ppv money for both. Khan is earning $10 million in US alone with ppv money.
Khan got such a large split despite being incapable of selling out the arena vs Juan Diaz in his last UK fight and never coming close to being a draw in the US.
Golovkin is clearly a bigger name than Khan so any offer from Canelo should be an equal or bigger split compared to the split Khan got. Otherwise Canelo is clearly low balling GGG and ducking him.:boxing:
Khan sold just under 4000 tickets, increasing from his initial allocation of 2500. It was Canelo who wasn't able to sell the Arena out, and that is because TV Azteca in Mexico had him losing 117-112 to Cotto, and that the hispanic community in US believe that he is ducking Golovkin.
TV is where the money is made in boxing in the , not tickets.
If it's on PBC it'll be the biggest ratings they have had so far
Very easy fight to promote
I think it will be on HBO or Showtime. Whoever puts up the most money! No way does this fight go to network tv
Iole has just tweeted that Cotto v Canelo numbers of 900k were a lie, and that they were in the 600's.
So if Cotto v Canelo did 600k, with Cotto the main PPV seller as seen with the 66-33 split between Cotto and Canelo,....and Canelo v Khan, a fight that wasn't even demanded by boxing fans sold 460k, excluding online PPV buys, that that is proof that Amir Khan has tapped the US market.
I wouldn't be surprised if HBO and SHO go at it to get Garcia v Khan II on a stacked PPV card!
Khan is not as big a draw as Froch by any stretch of the imagination so that is quite simply a ridiculous post - despite Khan getting some google hits from south asia.
Khan is simply not a draw in the UK and doesn't bring anything to the table other than 3 KOs on his record.
Khan/Brook is nowhere near as big as the Froch/Groves rematch.
Then why does Eddie say that Khan v Brook is a bigger fight. I agree that Khan is not the draw he once was, but if Khan v Brook is bigger like Hearn suggests, then is it Khan bringing in that revenue or Kell Brook?
Based on his wins and losses.
A friend told me that he lost in his most important fights, however he won against Chávez, Whitaker, Camacho, Mayorga...
On the other hand he could not win Pacquiao, Hopkins, Mayweather, Mosley (twice).
Where do you put De La Hoya?
Prime Pacquiao > Prime Mosley > Prime De La Hoya > Prime Mayweather > Prime Whitaker > Primer Chavez
nice.... what's the total attendance?
Also, this shuts up all the Khan haters who say he doesn't bring a fanbase. Khan has the biggest fanbase in boxing.
Mayweather doesn't have a "fanbase". He's just popular.
Comeon Lad. Khan doesn't have the biggest fanbase in boxing. It is easily Pacquiao, followed by GGG and Joshua in the UK. But Khan has a solid fanbase, is an A-list boxer in terms of star power and is in exciting fights, so people will travel to watch him fight.
He looks a lot better and defined than when he started camp for Collazo
http://www.boxingscene.com/uploads/81536/Amir%20Khan%20(5).JPG
7 weeks later he looked like this
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/05/02/article-2619199-1D888DF700000578-739_634x417.jpg
He is using the same diet and strength and conditioning method he used vs Collazo.

1. Khan is breathing out, compared to Canelo breathing in.
2. The picture is not very sharp, hence abs are completely undefined.
3. Khan is bulking up, and then cutting weight. Easier to turn fat into muscle, then build muscle through eating protein and working out. Khan is using the same method he used for the Collazo fight. He came in light vs Algieri and followed a different plan.
4. Khan will come into the fight at around 161/2 lbs, slightly heavier then he did vs. Alexander, and this extra muscle will be around the trap region, legs, biceps and abs.
The WWE is doing A LOT worse than Boxing right now.
Terrible comparison.
They are doing a lot better since WrestleMania. WWE did well before its slump farely recently because of choosing its telecast times strategically. And if it is doing a lot worse, then isn't it time to compete with the WWE's telecast timings?
Until Khan beats/loses to either one of Brook, Thurman, Garcia II & Pacquiao we will know whether he is still an elite fighter. However calling him C class, past it, a fraud, etc is onlt garbage that comes out of the mouths of haters. Do you see any credible boxing journalist out there, give Khan the treatment that he receives from xyz on Boxing Scene.
&.,.. How is Khan supposed to 'earn' a fight, when he wants to fight any of the top 5 welterweights in the World, and they refuse to fight him. Bar Kell Brook....which will only take place in the summer, hence he is out of the equation for now.
Thurman, Mayweather, Garcia and Pacquiao ....don't want anything to do with him. Khan needs an opponent to fight in Jan 2016?
Who should he fight....that will gain your so called Respect?????
So I was thinking with all this khan news lately is his win against alexander is looking less impressive by the day. I laughed at the time when everyone called it a 50 50 fight the reality is alexander has been done for awhile. The guy has talent but his passion is gone its almost like he could care less about losing. Then you got the algeiri fight some thing algeiri won the fight I cant remember which way I scored it personally but I do remember thinking the score cards were a joke and being shocked that algeiri was able to walk down khan all night.
Im just tired of the khan hype train the guy is a complete joke
You also thought Khan was going to lose, and called it a 50/50 fight. If he were to beat Thurman, Porter and Brook.... you will then say....but he lost to Peterson doh......
Yes there is hype surrounding Khan, but for a fighter with 3 losses still able to generate hype...means something!!
Allowing fighters a one minute timeout during the round is a pathetic idea. However, allowing each fighter to take an extra one minute break, in between a round is not such a bad idea.
Al Haymon has spent $313 Million Dollars on buying TV rights, on platforms such as ESPN, NBC, CBS, which he has secured till late 2019. His aim was that lots of people will tune in to free boxing on TV, and he would recooperate the $313 Million outlay through selling advertisement slots. However, this plan has failed, as tv ratings for ages 18-49, has been extremely poor, hence PBC has not been able to sell advertising at the price that they would like to.
PBC will ultimately fail & go bankrupt, as boxing is a niche sport.
inb4 the salty comments because you have Khan winning any of these fights
He would probably lose in the Semi Finals, vs a Thurman or Porter, or even a Brook.....but sadly half of these guys are not even in the tournament. According to the WBC .,....Thurman isn't even in their top 100
You put all that effort into this post to not see the greatness of the match ups.
It allows the so called champs to show they are champs for a reason. By fighting the opponents that are hungry and wanna make a name for themselves or prove they still got what it takes. This way is the best way to show a good fight. None of those fighters listed are in a easy fight. Despite all that. They will work themselves out to fight the best anyways. Better believe an upset is in the making.
0 Champs are taking part in the Tournament. No Brook, Thurman, Bradley (Soon to be crowned WBO).
I pick 'The New' Ray Robinson to give Khan all sorts of trouble and Garcia beating Berto is anything but a given. Any WW tournament w/o Thurman and Brook should result in Porter winning.
A flat footed fighter, that applies 0 pressure, has little pop in his punches, and is a southpaw will give Khan problems??? And he has never been past 10 rounds? Please enlighten me on how he will trouble him?
Beside Thurman(who is the other organizations champion) and Brook(who is the other organizations champion too) who is missing?
Pacquiao, Bradley, Chaves, Vargas are missing. Spence, Sadam Ali and Algieri should be higher up than where they currently are placed in the rankings.
WTF are you talking about. That is a great way to make a champion. I love these kind of tournaments. If they can get a tournament together to get a champion it would be a great thing.
What is the point of a tournament, when the top guys are not even in it. What does it prove?
Why would Pacman make half the money making Crawford....instead of fighting Chiinny Chin Khan for a PPV in both the UK and the USA and make more $$$?
Khan v Pacquiao has a much bigger story behind it. Imagine Crawford in HBO 24/7 ....no ones gonna watch that!
Thurman & Porter are with Haymon so they are out.
Brook is not willing to travel outside the UK.
Khan is the only fighter that Bradley could fight from your list.
Thurman will be given the win on points, even if he is losing fight. Porter needs a knockout, or to win 9 rounds clearly to be in with a chance of getting the decision.
There's always ways to cheat the system if you want to try but limits at a certain stage is better than no limits
Exactly, Boxing needs limits. These 155lb Middleweight World Title fights are a farce.
