Based on his wins and losses.
A friend told me that he lost in his most important fights, however he won against Chávez, Whitaker, Camacho, Mayorga...
On the other hand he could not win Pacquiao, Hopkins, Mayweather, Mosley (twice).
Where do you put De La Hoya?
I'm not cutting of parts. As I said Oscar gave away the last 3 rounds. His own fault. But are you telling me after 9 rounds you saw the fight 5-4? No way.
No, I didn't score the fight. And I dubbed over the vhs as soon as I got a chance because that was one sh*tty fight and I didn't have a new vhs lying around. It was a very close fight, like it or not. Look at the cards from everyone then. Most had Oscar winning by a point or two, if that. And he was a huge media and Vegas favorite so it was a shock that he lost a decision. But after that performance, who could argue that he deserved to win? It's like Froch-Dirrell. Yeah you can say Dre won a close decision. But with the way his heart began pumping kool-aid in the last few rounds, I was glad he lost. Same thing here. But anyway, it was a close fight and that's my point.
The fight went twelve rounds. You can't cut off the parts you want. Oscar lost three of the last four rounds and he definitely didn't win the first nine. It was a very close fight, as evidenced by nearly every journalist having it within one or two points at most. But more importantly, the way Oscar tried to run out the clock I can't understand how any boxing fan could defend him. People are complaining about Mayweather-Pacquiao? De La Hoya-Trinidad was the worst superfight ever.
But anyway, Oscar is a legend to me. A super-duper star with a HOF resume. But all-time great? I don't think so.

People forget that prior to the last 3 rounds that Oscar retreated in he actually made Tito look pretty silly in the fight. Had him bleeding, lost and confused. After 9 rounds it was 8-1 Oscar. It could easily have been 9-0 or 7-2 at the worse.

I dont respect any man who wears women clothing.
^^^^^^ funny ****
Dude how the fuk did Oscar get robbed against Tito. Dude Literally ran for four rounds. Are you telling me Oscar swept the first 8 rounds??
Never mind I don't want to know what you think.
He ran the last 3 rounds. First 9 rounds the fight was clearly Oscar's. Are you telling me you had the fight 5-4 nine and gave the last 3 rounds to tito to make it 7-5
Oscar doubled Trinidad in landed punches after 8 rounds. He stopped throwing punches the last 3 and a half rounds and STILL finished the fight out landing tito 263 to 166. According to compubox one of the worst decisions of alltime.

I don't care if Oscar gave away rounds at the end it's impossible to give Trinidad 7 rounds in that fight, after 8 you have to struggle to find more then 1 sympathy round to give tito who was being outlclassed.

Some of you guys don't know what a legend means.
It's someone talked about and remembered.
Doesn't have to be the best.
From the greatest aging fighters in the 90s to the greatest prime fighters in the 00s.
130-160 odlh fought them.
In huge fights.
If you don't think Oscar is a legend in boxing you're tripping.

He carried the sport for many years. Of course he's a legend.
And while he did lose a lot of fights, there were some fights he was clearly robbed in. Tito fight for instance.

well he managed to lost move of his most top fights but lets be honest he was really really close in beating floyd, the judges rule it a spit deciison for a reason. pacquiao knock him out when he was on a winning streak! pacquiao retired him for good.
He was great for the sport.
He was a star early on and could have taken safe fights but the guy fought the best competition out there, sure he lost some, but just about every great fighter does. We need more fighters like him.
How many you got in that list , whats the cut off fighter ? cant be an honor if its only your list .
It's all arbitrary and like I said, I haven't actually put a list together (I never will), but I'd think the top 50 would make the cut. Not sure if I'd have Oscar that high.
